Upperbloem Guesthouse & Apartments is an oasis in the city - quiet with a large saltwater pool & pooldeck, and garden to relax. We are only 5 -10 minutes walk away from the city centre, Greenmarket Square, Longstreet, many cafes and Restaurants, and shops. It is a 10minutes drive to the beautiful Camps Bay and Clifton beaches. Guests have free Wifi, secure street parking. We stayed at 8 Upper Bloem St for 5 nights in early September 2018, prior to a game viewing tour of Botswana. I can highly recommend this guest house and apartment complex. The location is great, an easy walk to downtown Cape Town, and the apartment had everything we needed. We prepared our own meals some evenings, and other nights ate out, based mostly on the recommendations in their guide to renters. There are some small convenience stores with a limited selection in the neighbourhood, but the Spar (Cape Quarter) at the bottom of the hill is very well stocked. This building is in the colourful Bo-Kaap neighbourhood near the top of a steep hill. It is a Muslim area, and the local mosque will call the faithful to prayer each morning at 5:45 AM. This served as our alarm clock most days, and we had breakfast watching the sun rise on Table Mountain. Since walking after dark is discouraged throughout Cape Town (take a taxi after dark, the), we soon transitioned to an early to bed, early to rise routine. We felt safe in this neighbourhood. The apartment was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, the view spectacular, and it had everything we needed. Katrin, the manager of the building quickly responded to emails when we were arranging our stay. We would happily return to Upper Bloem.

Tolle Wohnung mit fantastischem Blick über Kapstadt und auf den Tafelberg. Den Pool kann man mitbenutzen und auf der überdachtenTerrasse kann man wunderbar sitzen. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön eingerichtet und sauber.

Wir haben 5 Nächte in einem Appartement des Upperbloem verbracht.
Die Lage ist toll mit gesamten Blick über die Stadt. Alles sehr sicher dort.
Wir haben sogar ein kleines Frühstück für den kommenden Tag und Wasser zum Empfang vorgefunden. Richtig toll.
Katrin ist sehr freundlich und zu jederzeit erreichbar. Sie gibt gerne Tipps für Unternehmungen.
Von dort sind alle Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell zu erreichen und es ist trotzdem sehr ruhig. Wir haben sogar den Lionshead erklettert und konnten über den Signalhill bis zur Unterkunft zurück laufen.

We stayed for 2 nights in this great apartment a five minute drive from The Waterfront. The apartment was clean & spacious & it had a fantastic view from the balcony over the city. Our host Katrin was very helpful & made us very welcome. We would not have swapped this location & the great view for the most expensive hotel in Cape Town. Highly recommended.

Upperbloem is located in Bo-Kaap, in close proximity to down-town Cape town with plenty of fantastic restaurants. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but there is a small kitchenet with all equipment to keep breakfast fresh. The room I stayed in had a perfect view over Cape town and Table mountain.

Katrin is a very friendly and helpful owner. She gave the needed advice, helped with taxis etc.
Hotel location is close to city center, but it is on hill so you'll need to climb unless you have a car.
Rooms are clean and nice - meet very well the purpose of staying overnight.

I had a wonderful stay at Upperbloem. Katrin went above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming as a host. The property is quiet, clean, and well maintained, but easily accessible to downtown Capetown... highly recommend!!

My wife and I stayed here and really enjoyed the apartment. It had everything you would need, including a microwave, refrigerator, freezer, stove top and more. Super clean. Plus it had one of the best views I have seen. We often went to the Pick & Pay grocery store at the V&A Waterfront to pick up food for the apartment, which helped keep our trip costs lower.

Greeted by the lovely Katrin with a cup of tea and mufffin. Room ready upon our early arrival. Complimentary muffins, cereal and milk in our room. Large room to plonk all your belongings. Hot shower. Comfy bed. Table mountain view from the terrace. Working air con. Location easy 5min walk to centre. What more do you need?
Please note this place is on a hill - I'm not a very fit person and I managed fine so I wouldn't let this put you off...and you will probably need the walk after overeating at the waterfront!
Also note uber is a VERY cheap way of getting around if you didn't fancy walking.

Early Check in is possible, but subject to availability. You can always come here straight from the airport, drop your luggage, have a coffee by the pool and a swim or a shower and relax or go sightseeing. We will have your apartment ready for you as early as possible, latest by 12.
