We were the only occupants of the near rooftop bar for a light snack and drinks. Super views over all the city and harbour. Good service and reasonably priced. Need to show identification at reception which is fair enough/
There is a roof top bar/restaurant and another on the 6th floor. We had drinks and a light dinner on the 6th floor as the sun set. Fantastic view although it was a little tricky to take pictures of the spectacular sunset due to the glare from the large windows. The food was very good, cocktails including mocktails interesting, and service excellent!
Excellent location with great interior in every rooms. Service is impeccable, room is very spacious, great view from the room. Breakfast is fantastic, and the rooftop area is really great to hangout or just relax with a killer view. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, from the moment you enter the hotel, reception team, restaurants staffs, all really made our day during our stay.
Awesome place full of dark charm and history, brought bang up to date with the stunning architecture. It is a marvel. We had food and drinks at the bar which were absolutely superb. The staff were cool and professional. All round top desto!
This is very pricey so a once in a lifetime experience. Amazing views, artwork, furnishings, service and food. I will never take a bath with a better view! Restaurant offerings for breakfast and dinner were delicious and good for vegetarians. We did not use the rooftop pool as too chilly but it looked amazing. Minibar and snacks included, which is always nice for this price. I was disappointed by the sewing kit though, as someone had already used it and there was no needle, which I found out too late. Luxurious bathrobes and linens. The chairs were a bit low for the tables when I wanted to work, but not a big deal. The museum in this building was well worth a look.
So overrated!! The ambience was great and decor etc but poor management and hostess skills ruined this supposedly top notch experience. They were just non negotiable on pleasing a birthday party request and dug their heels in that empty tables were still going to be occupied later by residents!! Even though the birthday party had requested table with views , we requested that if another table came available we would prefer to.move but the manager told us imfattacly that this will not happen!!! Will not be going back as manager and hostess need to be trained on how to adequately accommodate and assess the needs of customers instead if being so condescending and pompous!! I was so embarrassed to be South Aftican this evening in this establishment and cannot believe that the Silo will even put up with such pure arrogance and inexperience from.the their staff!! Just left a four day/three night stay at The Silo. It was our first time in Cape Town and this was the perfect hotel. It is situated at the V&A waterfront, which is convenient to many restaurants and shops and the station to take the boat to Robben Island. From the moment we arrived until we left, everything was perfect. The staff was so warm and welcoming and extremely attentive. They were very protective and make sure that you knew where you were going when leaving the hotel, and that the correct people/guides were with you. Special shout out to Papy and Roger who were so pleasant every time we entered and exited the hotel :) We were celebrating my fiancé’s birthday and everyone at the hotel knew it. Lol. From our arrival, the concierge, Jessica and the manager Luis and everyone else at the hotel consistently greeted him with Happy Birthday. What a way to make a guy feel special. We stayed in a suite overlooking the mountains and the port. The downstairs had a half bath, living area, and dining area. Upstairs was the bedroom and master bath. The doors downstairs opened to a quaint balcony with two chairs and a table and the perfect view of the mountains, while the upstairs doors opened so that you could feel the Cape Town breeze. The views were great. Each room is uniquely furnished and has its own character. A big plus for me was the fact that the shower water gets extremely hot. I HATE when hotel water is not hot to my liking. After long days of walking and touring, there’s nothing better than taking a nice hot shower to unwind. We had a freestanding tub, but didn’t take advantage of it. I loved the towel warmers. In conclusion, we loved the hotel and definitely would recommend it to anyone visiting SA.…
This is a beautiful and architecturally interesting place to stay. The hotel is built in an old silo, and on top of a museum. The art in the guest rooms and in the common areas is fantastic. The design of the rooms with the bright colors and fun combinations of furniture, art, fabrics and materials made each room unique and fabulous. And the views!!! Not to be beat. And not just from your room but also from the rooftop bar (which also has an infinity plunge pool). The food was terrific and the service very good. Highly recommend this gem of a hotel.
This place isn’t the norm relative to it’s 5* peers. In my experience, it’s much, much better. Relatively small, you can truly escape the rat race and immerse yourself in really comfortable surroundings. There’s contemporary, there’s swanky, there’s character, there’s ‘design’ and there’s uniqueness. But beyond this, there’s individuality and personality. The staff are stand out - fun, friendly and ‘at your service’…because they are born Advocates of first class service and proud Africans to boot ! They inspire. As does the Silo experience. Go.
