The Silo Hotel is a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. The Silo has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex occupying six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA). Zeitz MOCAA is a contemporary art museum that rivals the likes of the Tate Modern in London, MoMA in New York and Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Zeitz MOCAA is a not-for-profit partnership between the V&A Waterfront and Jochen Zeitz, whose collection forms the Museum’s founding collection. The building has been designed by Thomas Heatherwick, Founder and Principal of the London-based Heatherwick Studio. Heatherwick Studio was tasked with the transformation of the elevator house and the adjacent storage annex of six rows of seven silos, while carefully retaining its cultural significance.

I don't know where to start but the Silo lived up to all our expectations and went the extra mile. From the moment we set foot through the door to the moment we left 24 hours later we were treated like royalty. It was a truly amazing experience. Do go for the afternoon tea and the drinks on the rooftop. The rooms - the rooms are out of this world - oh and the views! We only stayed one night as we were in the middle of our trip to SA and to be honest this was really at the top end of our price range but as it was our wedding anniversary (38 years) we decided to splurge and we were not disappointed. Lovely, lovely touches, bubbles, rose petals - they thought of everything and if we are back in Cape Town there will be no question - would rather spend a couple of nights at the Silo than a week somewhere else! Thank you team - all of the staff we encountered from the door to the airport run - all of you were truly amazing - you did brilliantly :) Keep it up!

My wife and I stopped by on Thursday Oct 19, 2023 around 9pm and was taken aback by the attitude of the male receptionist. We just wanted to enjoy the ambience and have a few cocktails. He was very matter of fact with his reply that it was fully booked and his demeanour was not customer friendly. He seemed a bit upset that he had to get off the call he was on. Your staff is not up to par for the rating given to your hotel. I understand customer service after working for 25 years with the world’s premier business jet company in the world, Gulfstream Aerospace. I know that our clientele would not appreciate this type of service. This was our worst customer experience in Cape Town and our first visit to South Africa.

We have been in SA for 2 weeks and this was the worst experience we had ....stay away if u are of colour from this hotel.....DO NOT ENTER!!!!!!!!!! Never have I felt so discrimination on my 60 years of age of living in the UK and USA!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!!!! The Silo was perfection in every way. The location, the decor, and the customer service were amazing. Every space of the hotel was beautifully decorated with vibrant colors, rich textures, and fabulous art. The hotel rooms are stunning, and the bathrooms have the most spectacular windows with gorgeous views. We were traveling with adult children, so we had 3 rooms. Every single one of them were fabulous. I would stay there again and again!

Royal Suite...perfect. Staff...perfect. Bar...perfect. Breakfast...perfect. Restaurant...perfect. There is no other word than PERFECT to describe our three-night stay. Architecturally, this hotel deserves all of the acclaim it receives globally. The location is excellent to explore Cape Town. Never pass up an opportunity to stay here!

We were looking forward to visit this iconic hotel now for some time. All we wanted was a light lunch. Our first negative experience was being interrogated by the concierge whether we had a reservation made at least 24-hrs before our visit. He rang up the bar/café and said we can proceed. Expecting a full bar / café only two tables were occupied. We placed our order and waited... and waited to finally get our food ... the French fries were previous day's and cold. The chicken burger with kimchi was superb. However our berf burgers were below average. The staff appreance was impeccable and the service very good. An overall disappointing visit.

We did like to visit as we want to experience this Hotel ,the art is beautiful, sunset to watch is nice but remember the bar you seat to have a dink do not connect its restaurant the Granery ,they are next to each other so if you order a drinks they be not added to your bill ,you have to pay separately, when you in restaurant it’s a menu which we thought it was good but sims like it’s a luck of food knowledge as flavour is missing and serves can be better ,remember it’s only our own preferences we talked about ,the view was good but sadly we say not for us again if we to revisit but thank you all 🙏🙏

We recently stayed at The Silo for 6 nights during our 6.5 week African Adventure in a Deluxe Superior Suite that was stunning. Floor to ceiling windows gives you gorgeous views of the city, mountains and harbor. Nothing was sparred when building this hotel and the décor. The suite was so spacious with luxurious bedding, heated bathroom floors, large soaking tub, walk in shower, sitting area and balcony. The hotel won a big award for “Best Achievement in Design”. I wrote the concierge in advance to plan restaurants and other questions and they responded quickly with great communication. Thank you to Jessica and Cemone for your great service. Annelina brought us to our suite and explained everything in detail. She was incredible. The food at the Granary Café was exceptional. My husband said one it was one of the best breakfast’s he has had. The pastries were divine. There was a wonderful a la carte menu with many choices. Thank you to Rita , Peter and Rob for your attentive service. All the staff in the restaurant had the best attitudes. Thank you to Nigel (Restaurant Manager) and Daniel (Host). We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant 3 nights, that had creative delicious food and loved the views there too. There is a marvelous rooftop bar with great drinks- be sure not to miss going there. It is the place to be! We also used the lovely Spa. Thanks to Kashiefa and Wardah. We were celebrating a special occasion and there were so many treats in our suite including delicious sweets, champagne, rose petals and chocolate covered strawberries. We surely were surprised every day! What makes this so hotel FANTASTIC is the General Manager Luis Pinheiro. He is so engaging with his guests, always present and with a great sense of humor. Thank you Luis for making our stay so extraordinary. The beautiful book you gave us is displayed on our coffee table in our home. Thank you also to Johandri (Deputy Manager) who was so lovely to us. All the staff had the best attitudes with the biggest smiles. The hotel is in a great location close to the V & A Waterfront Complex with over 450 stores and restaurants. Make sure to allow enough days in Cape Town to enjoy all it has to offer. A highlight was going up the Cable Car to Table Mountain. There was one staff member, that stood out to us. He had the biggest smile and we loved him! He brought treats to our room and took care of all our special requests. On night he knew we were watching a USA Playoff game on the TV and he brought us a big bowl of popcorn. Thank you Shingai for making our stay so exceptional! You are an amazing person! If you are looking for the BEST hotel in Cape Town with fabulous service, delicious food and gorgeous accommodations than The Silo should be your only choice! As I write this review it puts a big smile on my face remembering our 6 nights at The Silo Hotel.
