We had a great stay in this hotel. We felt very comfortable. The new menu and the view during dinner was excellent. The wine was free in the evening. The hotel has two beautiful heated pools with massage function. The service was excellent. We will come again.

Hello Ben, Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to write review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our new international menu with the most amazing views in town! Our renown Sunset Festivities are a highlight for many guests. Every evening we free poor some great South African wines with canapés to celebrate the sunset for all of our guests to enjoy. We have now due to current events curbed how many rooms are occupied so that social distancing is maintained at the bar and we also serve guests directly on their balconies or in their suites. Things are a little different but in general the same. Our pools had just been renovated prior to your visit last year and are heated all year round as you know. The jacuzzi jets have been a hit. 4 in each pool. 2 upper back and 2 lower back. I do hope you can return again soon t visit us. It was a pleasure meeting you both and having such fun guests in house. Warm regards, Greg and The Atlanticview Team

Hotel's Favorite
We've just returned from two weeks in Cape Town and Hermanus and stayed again at The Atlantic View - for the fifth time. That tells you a lot really! We have always loved this little gem and really feel at home. Cape Town is a beautiful city and we prefer to stay on the Atlantic Seaboard. Why stay in a city with a wonderful seaside location if not to be near the sea? But where? Camps Bay ticks so many boxes. It has a thriving restaurant scene overlooking a stunning beach. The setting is peerless. But for some, the "strip" on Victoria Road can be a little too busy. This is where the Altantic View comes in. It is located on Francolin Road, above Camps Bay Drive, so is away from the hustle and bustle and you can drop in and out, as you wish. The hotel, with only ten rooms and suites, has a fleet of three Mercedes and a Range Rover at the disposal of guests, so a member of the charming and professional front desk team will take you wherever you want to go and pick you up later. The hotel itself was fashioned out of two adjacent houses with great taste, flair and attention to detail by its American owner Greg Boki. It now has ten rooms/suites in the two buildings; four in the orignal building which also houses the front desk and a restaurant and bar below, the newly available separate owners suite, and five (four of which are spacious suites) in the second building, which also has a very fully equipped gym. The views are breathtaking. Even though we've stayed so often, the view of Camps Bay below, as you enter the stylish entrance lobby into the reception area still take the breath away. And to the right is the Lion's Head. Then, as you turn to face the mountains, is Table Mountain, with the cable car station at the top clearly visible. And sweeping to the right are the majestic peaks of the Twelve Apostles. Stunning. The hotel has two pools surrounded by decking - one for each building. This season the heating has been transformed by the addition of heat pumps, one of many improvements this year. The water is a comfortable 30 degrees. And since every room has its own allocated sun loungers, there is none of the all too common nonsense of having to struggle for a bed. Our room, the 650 square feet Penthouse Suite, has been upgraded too. A lovely new floor, much larger wardrobe space and an extended terrace, complete with a day bed, table and chairs and a hammock. It is a wonderful spacious suite for a relaxing stay. Breakfast is served in the room at a time of your choosing. A beautiful fruit platter with bread/croissants and other little treats is the basic. Then you are offered a cooked option, with a menu, but you can just say what you want. The old bar area has been upgraded too and now incorporates a restaurant with a full service menu for lunch and dinner. And the complimentary happy hour (more than one hour really!) at 7 pm, when wine and delicious canapes are served, continues. It's a very nice way to start an evening and meet your fellow guests, some of whom have become friends over the years. So we have a five star location, with five star rooms and facilities. But the thing which truly elevates a hotel to proper five star status, in my view, is five star service. This is what we receive from the young, professional, enthusiastic front of house team. This is led by Jean, who arrived in the country from the Democratic Republic of the Congo some years ago, speaking little English, joined the hotel team six years ago, and is now the excellent general manager. The other members of the team - Leslie, Vito, Liam, Justine, Jonelle and Rebecca are all truly excellent. Nothing - nothing - is too much trouble and that makes for a wonderful experience. We are already making plans to return next year. An exceptional place. If you like intimate little gems do try it - but leave room for us!

Hello John, Thank you for everything you have so beautifully said here. We all really do appreciate it. A lot of hard work went into the huge renovation that we undertook in 2019. The property has transformed and evolves every year as you know. We do listen to our guests and their constructive input is very valuable indeed. We listened when you said the wardrobe wasn't large enough for a long stay so you have in your suite now a new 3.9 meter wide Italian wardrobe with enough space for all your wife's shoes. (smile) Having our regular guests come every year are the highlights of our season. We enjoy having you join us John as much as you enjoy visiting on your holiday. Take good care of each other and see you again very soon! Warm regards and safe travels, Greg and The Atlanticview Team

I booked one night in a mountain facing room as my son had to stay in hospital due to surgery, and they are situated close to the hospital. From the first interactions with them up to today has just been an amazing pleasure! Not only did they upgrade me to a sea facing room with no charge, they went the extra mile to arrange an early breakfast for my husband when he arrived at about 21:00. It was so impressive that a plan was made at that time of the day, amidst covid-19 dilemmas. The service was absolutely fantastic, courteous, friendly and with great conversations. No detail was left uncatered for - even the temperature of the pool when we wanted to swim late at night! The mattress and linen was definitely the best I have experienced in my life, the room large and spacious with only the sounds of the distant ocean while you sleep. The beauty of the Cape Town Boutique Hotel will stay with us forever, the views from the decks and patio's are indescribable. We definitely will be coming back to experience this Hotel outside of covid as this is the place to be to immerse yourself in another world, to forget all worries and be immersed in the outstanding service and experience at this Hotel!

Hello Elmarie, Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a review. Yes the pools are lovely and warm now after our big renovation last year. The jacuzzi jets are just the ticket to relax and unwind with a breath taking view. We pride ourselves on thee quality of linens we have custom made for our hotel. The Tempur mattresses are the ultimate in sleeping comfort. Glad to know you enjoyed them. As the American owner of Atlanticview, I cannot tell you how much we appreciate hearing such positive response from local guests. We do try to be different and even import what we cannot find in SA so that your guests have something unique and special. We were delighted to have you join us and very happy to hear your son is home and on the mend. Take good care of each other and dont forget to have fun! Warmest regards, Greg and The Atlanticview Team

I know this is long but, my goodness, there is SO much to tell! With our international wedding anniversary plans scrapped due to COVID, I tried to find a location close to home that felt special. I spent hours looking at websites and reading reviews of various properties before picking up the phone and calling AtlanticView. I am SO thankful I did. I was assisted by a gentleman named Epi who was the epitome of customer service. Epi and I emailed and spoke on the phone several times prior to our stay making sure that everything would be perfect for us. I was impressed with the level to which he went make sure our stay would be memorable. And if that wasn't enough, I then received an email from the owner, Greg .... that doesn't often happen! .... making sure all was well. I told him that if the customer service I received from Epi was indicative of what we were to experience during our stay, we were in for a treat. Upon arrival, we felt like royalty! Each member of the AtlanticView team treated us as valued and special guests. You could feel the warmth despite the masks and plastic barriers required during this time. When I met Epi in person, I totally forgot about the coronavirus for a few moments and hugged him like he was family!! We were given a little tour of the property by Rebecca and instantly fell in love with the artwork (which we later learned was created especially for the property by a local South African artist), the attention to detail, the sparkling pools with plenty of sun loungers, and then....our room! Calvin wouldn't let us lift a finger. He took the keys to our car and retrieved our luggage and brought it to us in the Penthouse Suite. What a grand first impression as we opened the door. I love boutique hotels because they lack the "cookie cutter" approach of the big hotel chains. The room was tastefully and artfully furnished. We loved the colorful legs of the bedroom bench and the chic desk! The team had placed rose petals on our bed and there was a chilled bottle of MCC (South Africa's "champagne") and chocolates awaiting us! Each night at sunset we were offered complimentary South African wine and delish hors d'oeuvres served up by James. We wanted to adopt him and take him with us to the United States when we leave in 2 years! He is such a personable young man, and as with ALL the staff, a huge asset to the team. We enjoyed chatting with him about all things South Africa. Last but definitely least is the food. Our booking came with breakfast each morning. Or should I say breakfastS (plural!!). We opted to have it delivered to our room each day as we had two different places in our suite to dine....either inside or outside. We did both. Our *first* breakfast was a continental breakfast presented so beautifully, we had to take pictures. It consisted of fresh squeezed juice, muffins, breakfast canapes, yogurt parfaits, various breads with butter and jam, and gorgeous fruit. When the tray was brought to us, we were asked for our *second* breakfast order which was a wide selection of hot breakfast items, both sweet (like French Toast) and savory (omelets etc). Everything we tried was divine! We really hated to leave when our three nights were up. We were made to feel so special and pampered, it was tough to go back to reality. Vito, at check out was wonderful. He, along with everyone we encountered, wanted to make sure we were well taken care of during our stay. As if that whole experience wasn't enough to make us fall in love with Atlanticview, we were even more enamored by the fact that both the owner Greg and dear Epi followed up a couple of days after our visit to ask if there was anything they could have done differently to improve on our experience. In short....NO! It was absolutely perfect....before, during and after! We will definitely be back at some point before we leave South Africa to return to life in the US. PS.....the ENTIRE staff was top notch . Please forgive me if I failed to mention someone. It is definitely not a reflection of that person, but rather lack of brain cells on my part as I slip further into my 50's! ;o)
