We so loved staying in this cute cottage in Camps Bay. I loved the wooden ceiling ! Quaint and authentic! Central to all the main attractions in Cape Town and surrounded by restaurants. Self catering so very nice if you are on a family trip. Safe area. Lots to do.

As expected in a cottage over 100 years old, we didn't expect all mod cons, but it did have a modern bathroom with plenty hot water. Super position with easy parking on street directly outside. Elmira is a great host. Short walk to main beach and many restaurants.

Finding a place to stay with two little kids in Cape Town is not that easy. Either you can go for a hotel close to the waterfront area, which is not the best choice for little kids, or you go to the beach areas, which can be really expensive. As we wanted to be close to the beach to be... More

I have stayed here 3 years in a row and love it. It has a relaxed laid back feeling and time seems to grind to a halt. I love having a coffee and chatting with Elmira the manager before wandering around the sea front and beach of Camps Bay. Swiss Cottage is a complex of rooms, cottages and apartments in... More

I found the staff helpful and friendly, the facilities and room are good value for money. This is a good place to base yourself while visiting sights etc - but is not suitable if you wish to lounge by a pool as there isn't one. I would have preferred larger towels - however they were spotless and changed regularly. I... More

We loved our stay at the Swiss Cottage! The location was fantastic; just a moments walk from the beachfront, restaurant filled promenade, and hop-on hop- off bus stop; Table Mountain was a 5-10 minute drive; the V&A waterfront about 15 minutes; and Long Street was a 50 rand taxi ride. Elmira, who manages the cottage, was fantastically helpful, both leading... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated just 200m from the palm-fringed, snowy white beach in Camps Bay, you will find this historical house, Swiss Cottage No.1, nestled below the Apostles Mountain Range (Part of Table Mountain). A feature and landmark in Camps Bay Village, it is one of four "Swiss Cottages" that came from Oslo, Norway, where the wood was cut and shaped, ready to assemble and then shipped to Cape Town in 1902.From the guest house, walk to the beach and shops and savour the local and international cuisine offered by the many restaurants and side-walk cafes. Witness the stunning sunsets over the sea or simply soak up the sun on the number one rated beach in South Africa.Swiss Cottage has built a reputation as a place that is "a home away from home" and nothing is too much for us to organise and arrange for our guests. Many guests have become personal friends and have visited several times and referred their friends and family to Swiss Cottage. Guests appreciate the fact that they can walk (takes 2 minutes) to the beach and restaurants. ... more   less
