A boutique guest house hidden above the mountain top with fantastic views over Cape Town. The staff (especially Zolani and the owner Rose) were very welcoming and accommodating. Nice breakfast, good coffee and a pool with awesome views overlooking the ocean...try get a room with a view, all are nice!

I stayed in room 2. It was very reasonably priced so I booked it. Unfortunately it doesn't have much of a view just a single window with a view of the ocean which too small. Drinks are too expensive to

This guest house is to die for, the location can hardly be beaten and the service is great. The staff are amazing! Very welcoming and attentive, I would recommend Lucas' pancakes containing blueberries. The sun downers are also a lovely touch and I can't wait to go back.

Just had a few days in Cape Town and chose 52 de wet based on the pre-christmas reviews. Shame some recently have not been so complimentary but I found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a sea view suite for two nights and then I moved to a classic room for 2 nights. Both rooms... More

Approach is via a steep narrow road with building works taking place very close to this hotel. Cranes, lorries etc, our hearts sunk! Very limited and tight parking, no alternatives. Hotel is surrounded front, back and on the sides with other buildings. There is no privacy on the balconies. Clever photography belies the very limited communal balcony space and the... More

As you can see from by review history I try to review things very balanced and we have been booking this place as it is advertising as 5* star luxury hotel which it isn't. All the happy people have used it as great B&B guesthouse and I am sure that's what it is. We have staid with the family over... More

Thank you for taking the time to review 52 De Wet. We are saddened but not surprised as it seemed you really did not want to enjoy your time spent in Cape Town. Yes unfortunately myself and my husband (the chef) were involved in a bad motorcycle accident just before the Christmas period, meaning that the team have had to... More

Cape Town is one of our favourite places and we know this Hotel of old. The view from 52 De Wet takes some beating but unfortunately the standard not quite there for a 5 star Boutique hotel. Only one bath robe, no tissues in the room ( I got a cold in the plane!) no cotton wool pads etc. We... More

Just a heads up..the hotel is built on a mountain...with levels going down from the street level...we were in the bottom room ..(3 levels down)..the stairs were quite steep and cumbersome to climb..an elevator would have been useful ..especially for ageing baby boomers..swimming is on the first level...and we carefully gauged how many times we would want to go up... Great place to end our fabulous holiday in SA - luxurious boutique hotel where nothing was too much trouble. Lovely bedrooms and infinity pool overlooking Bantry Bay . Great Breakfasts especially the Eggs Benedict would definitely recommend - thanks for making us feel so welcome

Small boutique hotel with beautiful interiors and stunning views. The rooms are perfect and the service we received was excellent and only let down slightly during breakfast when it was slow and a little chaotic. Highly recommendable for couples!
