Our first trip to South Africa and we extensively researched what to do and where to do it. After much discussion of the considerations regarding safaris (e.g., close to Johannesburg Airport, comfort, not having to worry with malaria prophylaxis) and after hearing others experience with Pilanesberg National Park, we decided to stay at the Pilanesberg Private Lodge (PPL). It was... More

Highly recommended! The chalets are clean, cozy and spacious with AC, minibar and safe and a lovely bathroom with tub, indoors and outdoors shower. We spent 48h at the lodge, which included 4 gamedrives, different routes and views every time, extremely comptent guide who could answers all our questions. All the meals were good, we had the most tender steak... More

There is around 1400 wild species to see and is absolutely amazing, I got to see all of the big 5 and the scariest by far is the elephants, so much bigger in real life. Would love to go back, maybe one day. The cabin in which we stayed had a private pool, and the cabin was as large as... More

The most positive point of this lodge is it precision, when a game drive should start at 6 am it starts at 6 am. in fact coffee is ready at 5.45 am so that one can leave at 6 am. The new young game ranger, Dian, is so enthusiastic of his job that he manages to transfer this to the... More

The lodge was well managed and the staff were most helpful. It was nice to see the animals coming up close to the brook near the lodge to drink. The morning safari trip to see the animals is very cold but fun. The selection of food was limited but the quality was good.

Instead of going to Kruger Park or some other huge reserve we went to this place which is about the size of Singapore. We sawevery animal you can imagine: elephants giraffes leopard lion wildebeest and everything we were looking for. We didn't have to ride that far and felt as if we were in a huge space. The service was... More

We received a lovely welcome. We were even late for the 1st game drive but they especially came back for us. Rooms are luxurious. We had a watering hole right outside of our room and were even lucky enough to see some buffalo while we ate our dinner. Food was delicious and we were very well looked after. Would highly... More

Best Lodge I have ever had the privilege of staying at, the owner Deon and has crew treated us like absolute Royalty, it was our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary and he made us feel like we were the only couple on earth, the game viewing was excellent, the food fantastic and of course we shared our experience with some awesome... For our last two days in South Africa we had the immense pleasure of staying at the Pilanesberg Private Lodge, which consists of a main lodge and 5 chalets. Beautiful setting, a busy water hole, great food and amazing game drives. Our ranger Deon was great, we had a couple of unbelievable game drives, lots of game and beautiful scenery.... More
