Trevor Datnow, the owner of Marrick, is an old Kimberley Boys High school friend, so when the opportunity arose to spend some time at Marrick, it was taken. Marrick Safari Game Farm is a splendrous game farm and wildlife breeding farm about 20 minutes drive south west of Kimberley. Trevor and his wife Hubre are the most gracious and accommodating...

I went to Marrick Safari and stayed for 1 night and 2 days. I can honestly say I had absolutely the best time! The shuttle pick-up, upgraded room, meals prepared by Chef Sam, safari rides, interacting with the Trevor, Mike, Sam and Hubre were all delightful. I enjoyed the coziness I felt from the owners and staff. My highlight was...

15 minutes outside of Kimberley, Marrick is a perfect little (well, not so little really) haven for travellers and animal and wildlife lovers. We arrived as the sun was setting, and the scenery and changing sky colours literally took my breath away. Just gorgeous (particularly after a much-needed late summer rain). The kids swam in the lovely pool while the...

Tranquil and comfortable. It was good to spend the last night of our road trip at Marrick. The absolute highlight was being able to touch the tame Meerkat family who live outside the owners home, we were all enchanted with Mummy, Daddy and their 4 week old babies

Situated not far from the Diamond city of Kimberley, Marrick Safari is one of South Africa's hidden gems that combines unique wildlife experiences with wonderful farm style hospitality. We experienced a night game drive with nocturnal animals not usually found in the standard game reserves. We discovered Aardvarks, Aardwolf, Porcupines, the rare Black-footed cat and a Bat Eared Fox. It...

Management response:

Thank you. Much appreciated. Now that the meercat pups are surfacing to explore, what we thought were 3, are now 6 healthy fat and happy pups.

Owner Trevor and his family and staff were very accommodating and made sure we had a good time. Very relaxing and easy-going place. Good food. They have a variety of accommodation options; we stayed at the safari tent that overlooks the pan and a small waterhole. We loved it, but if you need more creature comforts then stay at one...

Our party stayed here in November and had a fabulous time. The night safaris are awesome with great wildlife sightings including aardvarks & black footed cats. All the staff are great and the vegetarian food was amazing. A truly amazing place to stay if you want to get close to wildlife. The accommodation is really good but people expecting a...

I spent four nights at Marrick this month. The night drives were exceptional - a great leader and amazing wildlife - black-footed cats in abundance; 6 aardvarks including two boxing; South African hedgehogs; springhares; aardwolves; large-eared gerbil mouse; bat-eared foxes etc etc etc. Daytime drives were also great with lots of ungulates and birds. Everyone was really lovely, nothing was...

I had the pleasure of visiting Marricks in July. Not the best time to go on night drive, but no one in my party wanted to go, but some very kind English guests said that I could go along with them. It was great (and cold) my wish for the stay there was to see Ardvalk We did, also aardwolk,...

Many thanks to Trevor and the team at Marrick Safari for an unforgettable stay. We stayed in the main house on a self catering basis. We had two rooms with single beds and one double room. All rooms were spacious with plentiful storage and high ceilings. The double room had an en suite bathroom, but the other two rooms shared...
