I spent a couple of nights at Marrick maily for the chance of seeing the Aardvark during the night safari. The place is nice and clean, with a magical atmosphere (you were back at 1900, with big rooms and antique funiture). The food is great and the people are very friendly and helpful. On cold days (and I had one...)... More

If you are staying here then you are probably here from the wildlife, like our group. The wildlife is great. We could watch nesting weavers from our window. The accommodation isn't so great. We were in the main quarters with interesting dining room and kitchen - all the amenities are there but they aren't modern. A little attention would make... More

We spent a wonderful Christmas at Marrick. Trevor and his team were all so welcoming and made us feel like family. They went out their way to accommodate us and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the newly built camp-site, situated in the middle of the bush. The design of the place had clearly been well thought out... More

Arrived in dark. About five people in office. One had to run out and get room more or less ready for visitors. Nobody offered to help with luggage. Room, especially carpet, not clean at all. Furniture and linen very run down. Not at all a positive experience

We are old African hands who have seen innumerable elephant, lion etc - still love seeing them, but we wanted to find some of the more elusive animals. Marrick was recommended and we did two night safaris there - both about 3-1/2 hrs in bitterly cold July weather, but we loved every minute. The highlights were Bat-eared Fox, Cape Porcupine,... We had an awesome few days at Marrick. We went there for the excellent mountain biking and we weren’t disappointed - it was like a safari on two wheels! We went out for a couple of long bike rides around the extensive property, encountering all types of animals – giraffes, gemsboks, springboks, bat-eared foxes, warthogs, mongoose, etc – really a... We stayed 2 nights at Marrick and had such a lovely time. It included the best night drive we have ever done - we saw black footed cat, aardvark, bat-eared foxes, aadwoolfs, porcupines, gerbils, spring hares, barn owls & a marsh owl. Can't wait for next time!! Richard and Inger from Hobart, Tasmania

Marrick is run by a small passionate team. The owner, Trevor, grew up on the farm and his love and passion for the veld and the wildlife are infectious. We were told we were almost 100% sure to see an Aardvark and we did! Our night drive all includes meerkat, hedgehog, Aardwolf, African Wild Cat and many more. The food... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Marrick at the start of a 2 week trip, as we'd read good reports about the night drives. We were certainly not disappointed! The farm itself provided very comfortable accommodation - we were in the Honeymoon Suite! Hubre was an excellent host and provided very tasty and filling food each night, as well as... More
