Nice stay, centrally located in St. Lucia with a good breakfast. We were kindly received by the hostess and we regularly had a chat with both owners. There was a laundry service available and the other facilities were fine. Unfortunately, due to the power outage in South Africa, there is not always electricity and WiFi. Even spotted hippos in front of the entrance on the last evening.

Only 1 night in St. Lucia while on a side trip from Durban to visit the Hluhluwe Imfolozi park and the St.Lucia guesthouse was the perfect home from home while in town.
Just 2 blocks back from McKenzie St and in a quiet location opposite a park. Hosts Eileen and Siobhon were friendly and hospitable, room was charming , spacious and perfect for the night. Bed was very comfortable, sadly owing to the power shedding, it was a little warm for a while until the power came back and the AC clicked in.
Bathroom was equally spacious, easy to use shower, soaps and towels provided , everything you needed and space for your own wash bag on the counter. Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy a beer or glass of wine and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Owing to very early pickup for trip to the park, did not get to sample breakfast but I’m sure it would have been delicious. Parking was included on site and no issue in leaving the car until we returned back from our tour. Walking distance to everything, the hippo and croc tour is a short walk away over the bridge, restaurants and bars are minutes away so a perfect choice to stay while in St. Lucia.

Managed to find this hidden gem due to a last minute cancellation. We spent three wonderful nights and Phillip and family were wonderful hosts with suggestions on how to best maximise our time. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed their pool during our rest times when we weren’t sightseeing. The room, although narrow was comfortable and air conditioning was very welcome in the heat of summer. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

From the moment Phil answered my email query about accommodation at Santa Lucia, I was pretty sure I’d found something special, and the reality (which we didn’t experience for almost another 12 months) did not disappoint. We stayed at Santa Lucia Guesthouse for almost 2 weeks and during that time we were made to feel like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble! Phil and Eileen cheerfully and knowledgeably helped us navigate bookings and payment for all the best places to visit, assisting us to plan the most memorable holiday experience ever. Saint Lucia itself is a superb destination, sitting on the edge of the world class iSimangaliso Wetlands, beautiful beaches and close to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park. It really deserves thorough exploration and is a well-run town with friendly locals and plenty to see and do (and eat). We enjoyed wonderful hospitality, fascinating conversation, beautiful original artworks by Eileen and lots of laughter and fun. All without the annoyance of noisy televisions. There was with plenty of space to move and the service was prompt, unobtrusive and top notch. We absolutely loved every moment of our visit. It was truly the stuff dreams and lifelong memories are made of, and we definitely plan to come back! I really couldn’t recommend Saint Lucia or the Santa Lucia Guesthouse more highly and wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Very pretty guesthouse in a lush garden, small swimming pool available, very pleasant staff, very kind owner. Comfortable rooms (downside on privacy because the windows overlook a terrace where roommates pass by). Very nice, hearty and good breakfast. Proximity to all activities, walks, cruise departure docks accessible on foot. Hippos wander through the city after dark

Philip and Eileen are very hospitable and very helpful (we had car trouble, but could immediately count on their help to arrange matters with the car rental company, so that we could still go on a trip). Be sure to let them book excursions and safaris for you: all very well organised. The B&B is located in a quiet, green area, but within walking distance of the main street (where there are many restaurants), be sure to ask about the owners' favorites.

We have stayed in Santa Lucia Guesthouse a few times before, and felt very comfortable and at home, so ofcourse we booked again. When you want to visit St Lucia, you are only a few blocks away from the restaurants and shops, but in a quiet lush garden. The rooms are comfortable, and ours had a nice terrace close to the pool. We booked the Hippo tour, and wetlands tour direct at the guesthouse, so that was very easy! The breakfast is very good, and also served on their beautiful terrace. This time we have also seen a few Hippo’s walking through the streets passing our restaurant! We hope to come back soon again..

Magnificent guesthouse, decorated with great taste and warmth. Very pleasant welcome from the owner, lots of advice for getting around this small village. The room is very spacious, very beautiful decoration, everything is perfect. The breakfast, really delicious, the staff is very pleasant, lots of delicious food, we loved this very chic guesthouse. Very quiet at night, super comfortable bedding. Everything is perfect. Private parking.

Lovely house and garden, sociable owners, very convenient for town. Nice big comfy room and bed with personal verandah and view of pool. Good breakfasts with freshly cooked eggs 9 though bacon a bit flabby). Eat outside, great place. Would come again.

Excellent post booking communications. Warm welcome. Meeting staff and owners Phillip and Eileen who are actively on the premises engaging with guests. Pleasant, relaxed secure and homely environment. Comfortable spacious room serviced thoroughly each day. Great breakfast on the terrace. Close proximity to restaurants and shops but in a quiet location. Tours booked for us by Phillip were first class. Stayed four nights but didn't see everything there is to enjoy locally. It's definitely a place to stay awhile. Highly recommend St Lucia Guest House
