Travelers' Choice
Nestled in the midst of an exceptional World Heritage Site, St Lucia Wetlands Guest House is the ideal destination for those travelers looking to find tranquility and comfort whilst exploring the magical beach, estuary, and game parks around us. Our guest experience begins with welcoming drinks and a comprehensive orientation of the area. Highlights amongst the many activities in St Lucia and the surrounding areas include a sunset boat cruise down the estuary, featuring an abundance of hippos, crocodiles, and bird life; a day-trip through South Africa's first World Heritage Site, a "Big Four" game park known as the iSimangaliso Wetland Park; and of course our beautiful beaches along the Indian Ocean in St Lucia and at the renowned Cape Vidal. At the house, our guests find a dedicated team committed to providing an excellent experience for each and every guest, all the while allowing them privacy and exclusive use of the house, its balconies and patios, lounge, pool and garden. We take pride in our full breakfast, served daily, with options for every visitor's tastes. Indeed, South African hospitality at its best.

Our stay in the guest house can only be rated as very positive throughout. From reception to departure, everything was very warm. Overall, the house is conservative but furnished with great taste. We received extensive documentation from Colin of what we could do in the area in three days. We have had informative conversations again and again, which had a very positive effect on our stay. We were particularly impressed by the very extensive and extremely tasty breakfast, which was prepared and served with great care. Overall, there was nothing to complain about, it was a very pleasant stay at the St. Lucia Wetlands Guest House.

From the first email to the guesthouse, through accommodating us for a change of dates to accommodating our late check-out, this was the most remarkable experience of hospitality I have encountered anywhere. And I travel 6 times a year internationally for work and 2-3 times a year locally with my family ( or did prior to the pandemic). The family owners went out of their way to make every aspect of our stay superb. Our daughter has eating issues and she basically had food bought and made specially for her. They even packed us a huge takeaway breakfast to eat on our last morning en route to a snorkeling expedition. From earbuds, sanitizer in each room to extra swimming towels in the cupboards, they have thought about anything one could possibly need. Breakfasts were 4 courses, including homemade banana bread, stewed fruit. The 5 star game lodge we stayed in on our trip fell way below our experience at this guest house. We will ensure we include St Lucia on as many future trips as possible simply to stay here again.

It was an excellent accommodation, I highlight the breakfast and especially the housewife was not tired of helping us, supporting the planning of city tours. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr. Colin and his family, who welcomed us as if they were their family. I recommend with commitment.

Amazing stay at this warming guesthouse. Owners are super nice and were very thoughtful and attentive throughout our stay. They did everything they could to assist us and even accommodated the wishes of our picky eater child. We were spoiled with a delicious braai and with amazing daily breakfast. We felt at home.
