Excellent service when booking and checking in and out. The accommodation was neat, tidy and very clean. I liked the fact that everything was branded - from the doormat to the clock to the crockery and the bottled water in the fridge! It is well situated and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. A lovely place to stay.

My husband and I went on a quick vacation between Christmas and New Year. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The accommodation is just a walk away from various restaurants and close to Cape Vidal Entrance and the St Lucia beach. Enjoyed our stay very much and looking forward to going back. Staff also very friendly and accommodating. Parking...

We have visited St Lucia for the first time. We stayed 3 nights. After a 700km-drive, a friendly reception greeted us. Booking in was quick and efficient and friendly, and we were then taken to our room. Beautiful room/flatlet awaited us. We had our own kitchen with everything needed. Only a shower available, double bed, tv with dvd-player and enough...

Spent the weekend with a group of friends in units 16-20 and we had a blast. Hippo Hideaway is nice and central in to town but you have great privacy in the units. We spent a day on the beach at Cape Vidal which was a blast. Definitely will stay there again.

We spent our first weekend in Kwazulu Natal at the Hippo Hideaway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size with our own bathroom and kitchen. There is a Spar just across the road where you can buy any groceries you need. We brought our breakfast out to the main seating area by the pool...

As our planned accommodation could not be used, we were stuck in a busy St Lucia but were lucky enough to get one night at the Hippo Hideaway. These were self catering units they were basic but clean, they were however way over priced. Problem is accommodation in St Lucia is expensive due to demand, so some places just cash...

We were told that Water should be switched on between 6-8, mornings and evening... But they had massive problems and we didn't get water at all for more than 24h! We couldn't even flash the toilet nor shower. It seems that there is a huge problem with the water pipe since months! We wouldn't recommend, not for 4 stars... Also,...

When I see no water bad reviews I cringe. When I see the lengths the staff go to to make sure water is uninterrupted and guests are happy, I feel sorry for them when reviews such as this one come in. Yes, Zululand is in drought, the worst in recent history. What do we do about this at Hippo Hideaway?...

We really did not appreciate the fact that there was NO water, despite being told that the water would be switched on from 21:00 until 06:00. We spent a whole day and night without water. Receptionist did not respond to a message sent to a cellphone number she provided and when confronted said that she did not take the phone...

Was the most comfortable bed ever, so clean and fresh. Everything was so in order and very neat. Clean towels at all times. Parking area is been watched by security . Swimming pool friendly and best place to be to get away to just relax and distress. Thanks again
