Lidiko Lodge is a tranquil paradise and a hidden gem in the heart of St Lucia. One would hardly notice this peaceful getaway surrounded by nature and a natural setting. The warm welcome by the hosts and friendly staff made our 7 night stay all the more enjoyable and carefree. The dining setting where we spent our breakfasts provided both the KZN sunlight and Atlantic sea breeze, adding to the great tasting continental breakfast served with passion by the chef and waitresses. The rooms were serviced daily and this ensured that we had nothing to worry about, the pool always kept sparkling clean with towels and an honesty bar in the public library.

We had visited Lidiko lodge on our last visit to this part of South Africa 5 years ago, and had tried to stay for longer but it was fully booked. Our experience this time was very different due to the impact on coronavisrus but was every bit as good!

We were the only guests as travel to South Africa was just beginning to pick up again. I felt so sad for Dirk and Lizette who try so hard to make their lodge a very special place to be. It was great for us as it was like having our own private lodge with swimming pool and staff, but I did feel sorry that there were so few tourists about.

Our room was a bit smaller than last time but still beautifully appointed with a great shower and lovely spacious bathroom. It was well placed overlooking the pool and with it's own small patio. Breakfast is great and the staff are super-friendly. Dirk and Lizette bend over backwards to help and give advice. They gave us good tips on where to go and organised a boat trip for us. They also provided us with beach towels and an umbrella to provide shade when we went to the beach. This was invaluable. There is an honesty bar and lounge area with library but we didn't use either of these as we were happy by the pool.

The lodge is well positioned very close to all the restaurants in St Lucia and we enjoyed trying a different restaurant every evening.

We loved St Lucia last time and still love it. Where else can you go for a game drive in the morning then have a picnic on the beach and swim in the afternoon? On another day we went for a boat trip to look for hippos in the morning then chilled out by the pool for a few hours after lunch and then went for a late afternoon game drive in the late afternoon.

We were again sad to leave and will definitely try to return again in less than 5 years this time. And we won't look any further than Lidiko lodge for accommodation. I can't imagine we'd find better! Thank you for everything, Dirk and Lizette, We truly hope that business in St Lucia returns to normal very soon - but hope we're still able to get a room!

It's a nice lodge, just watch out for the monkeys. Keep the door of the room locked. Nice pool although fresh. Less is that it is closed at 21:00, so you can no longer grab water or drinks, of course this must be paid afterwards if you grab something before then. This is on good faith and writing. The breakfast I found very meagre, little choice and brown bread was gone. Then you had to take bread with seeds. Fried egg, omelette or scrambled eggs could be ordered but this was not indicated by the staff. Tomatoes, mushrooms were there one day and not the next.

Lidiko Lodge is a little pearl inside the Isimangaliso Wetland Park. Set in a beautiful garden with a swimmingpool and outdoor areas to relax. The staff at Lidiko Lodge is warm and welcoming and gives the best service. The lodge is placed right at the mainstreet and you can easily walk on your own - even at night. But, be aware of hippos!

This is a basic, but very beautiful lodge nestled in the jungle-like atmosphere of St. Lucia. It is also very close to the shops in town. In fact, the restaurant that we eat in is only half a block away, and the pier where we get onto the boat to see the hippos is only a four-minute walk! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, and it’s out on the porch of the main lodge. This is the perfect place to relax. The atmosphere is wonderful as is the staff! This is where our 16-day safari actually begins, and it is the perfect atmosphere for it!

This was our first experience of the astounding beauty of the iSimangaliso Wetlands and the captivating town, St Lucia. Choosing Lidiko Lodge as our home from home was an excellent decision. We were accommodated in the Manor House two interleading rooms with an en suite bathroom. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. Luxurious bedding and towels, coffee and tea making facilities, a bar fridge and the enjoyment of a lovely veranda overlooking the beautiful pool and garden was so inviting we chose to spend some time just enjoying the lodge. But there are so many wonderful sights to discover such as the wetlanfs, lake, extraordinary beaches and great restaurants that it would be a pity to give in to lazy lounging on the stoep. Though the lodge was full we were treated like special guests by all the friendly staff and manager, Jakobus. Breakfast was a real treat, with the highlight delicious fruit fresh from the area.
For us the accommidation at the Manor suited best as we required interleading rooms. However all the lodge rooms are equally spacious and well equipped. Truly a special place in an area of enequalled beauty

the stuff from reception to cleaners as well at the atmosphere was very good. The lodge receptionist made it easy for us to enjoy the beauty of saint Lucia, there was a map provided to move around. He also made bookings for our game drive. I can recommend this resort to anyone. this also located on street where there all kinds of restaurant, you can walk to the restaurant anytime.

This is the sort of place that you could just sit and relax for several days! The rooms were spacious, as was the bathroom. (No thatched roofs in the bedrooms, though.) The bed was comfortable, and the grounds were beautiful! Very subtropical vegetation with orchids on various trees around the lodge units and the swimming pool.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! The breakfast was also extremely good! It is served on a patio, and there are cold foods as well as hot foods available. This lodge is also very close to town, and also just a brief walk to the restaurant that we ate in that night.

The only downside is that several of the rooms had a musty odor to them. I’m assuming it was from the dampness of the area, even though the room itself did not seem damp. This odor affected two or three of the people in our group. We turned on our air conditioner at full fan to hopefully remove some of this smell, and it helped somewhat.

Excellent place! We would definitely recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at Lidiko Lodge. Michelle welcomed so so warmly and could not have been more helpful. She gave us great recommendations for day trips and booked our hippo cruise for us well in advance. Ellen took care of our breakfast special orders. Breakfast was delicious with great choice. I loved the fruit platters. We were upgraded to a lovely large room which was a family room as it had two additional single beds. We called it our honeymoon suite as it was so peaceful and quiet.

The lodge is in a perfect location in the middle of the town and perfect for walking to restaurants each evening. Most importantly the lodge has it’s own generator which was fabulous in times of load shedding. We also loved the gardens and relaxing pool area.

The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because the rooms and particularly the bathrooms need a little sprucing up.

The fab staff deserve top marks. We will stay here again and have already mentioned it to fellow travelers we met on our travels.
