We stayed at Rissington Inn for 5 nights as a base for exploring the Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon. We stayed in Kigelia, which had a lovely view over the grounds and the distant hills from the private patio. The room was large and the bed really comfortable. We stayed on a half-board basis, and so ate dinner each night in the restaurant. The food was outstanding and plentiful - we were able to have 3 courses under our half-board, but could only ever manage 2. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and really made us feel at home. The only criticism I would make would be that the shower in the room was lacking in pressure and it took a while to work out the best way to get the temperature right. Rissington Inn is perfectly placed to Kruger National Park, with the nearest gate only about 20 minutes away. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights whilst visiting the Kruger and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious with a lovely veranda overlooking a huge garden. The staff were always smiling and nothing was too much trouble and made us feel very welcome. And lastly, the food - what can I say except that t it was delicious and great value if you book the half board option. We would definitely recommend the Rissington and also come back again.

This hotel is in a lovely location for a much longer stay. The area is very picturesque and you could do loads of activities from here if this was your base. The rooms and great. Ours had a bath inside with a shower head tap and a shower outside if the weather was warmer. The place has a lovely swimming pool too if you're considering coming in the warmer weather. The only thing that let it drop from 5 to 4 stars for us was that the bed wasn't as comfortable as we'd had elsewhere. Service was great.

Thanks very much for this great review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and that the fantastic Team Rissington impressed you. Please drop us an email and clarify your surname and/or which room you were in. so that we can check the comfort of the bed. We normally have very positive comments on the quality of our beds, so I would just like to be sure! Many thanks and we hope to see you for longer next time. All the best, Chris

Do not go to the Hazyview area without staying here. Everything about this place is superb - the setting, the surroundings, the rooms, the food and, most of all, the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and we were treated like family. There were one or two "this is Africa" moments but these just added to the enjoyment. The Inn is very conveniently situated for Kruger via Phabeni Gate and for the Panorama Route.

Thanks Dave - and thanks for your kind email too. Same time next year? For a week again? As you say "This is Africa" and you can't beat it, especially when it surprises you with its wonderful 'illogical' moments! Looking forward to seeing you. All the best Chris

Our group of 4 stayed at 2 different rooms: The Ivory garden view suite and Matumi larger room. The Ivory is huge, with an extra single bed which wasn't used. It has an expanding view, all the way towards God's Window!! There are playful monkeys on the grounds, so fun to watch. Both rooms have veranda with lounge beds to relax in. The Matumi room has a very large double shower that was great. It is too bad we only stayed here, an overnighter en route to the airport the next day. Many travelers stay here multiple days, for visits to Kruger National Park. We enjoyed the inclusive breakfast, a full buffet with custom omelet made to order. We also had our dinner here, tried several African dishes. Some were interesting, some were delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly, we especially appreciated the bright smiles from Desmond. He catered to all of our requests. This hotel is quite reasonable, and it less than an hour to the airport.
