We spent a weekend at Horizon and we were spoilt rotten with amazing food, wonderful guides and horses to suit your every need. The rides are divided up into your ability so you don't feel pressured to do things you cant. The horses are well trained and in excellent condition. The guides are well trained and share their knowledge at... More

I did the African Explorer Safari with Horizon Horseback with one night at the Lodge. First of all, the staff/team at Horizon and Limpopo were amazing - extremely friendly, knowledgeable and well-organized/efficient. The horses were ready when they said they would be, the meals were good and on time, and the drivers were there when they were supposed to be... More

We were only here for a short period during a film shoot with the Trek South Africa team as part of our project for Drive South Africa but I whole heartedly wish that I could have stayed for a few days or even a week. The staff and management were all incredibly friendly and accommodating, and all of the guests... More

It was an amazing experience. The horses are great, the location is wonderful - we especially loved Camp Davidson up on the hill. I recommend it to every rider who is looking for an adventure on horseback in a beautiful country.

We were picked up at Johannesburg Airport and transported by minibus to Horizon. The driver was great telling us about the area as we drove through and pointing out all the different animals. On arrival, we were greeted and taken to our lodge which was nicely appointed and we were shown around, given to acclimatise and then had tea and... More

I spent 4 nights here for my first time in South Africa. The staff are very friendly, the food is delicious and plentiful - you will not go hungry! The horses are lovely and a lot of them to choose from. The saddles are very comfortable and the guides are entertaining, fun, friendly and very knowledgable. Our schedule was: breakfast,... More

I've been on many riding holidays, but this was special. I think I did everything possible on my visit, both staying in the lodge and at the camp. For me, just being able to get close to giraffes and zebras was enough, but I was matched with what turned out to be my ideal horse 'Champion' which made the rides... More

When we visited Horizon in August 2015 we rebooked for 2016 before we left. This years holiday was just as good, and we're already making plans to visit in 2017. The entire experience if faultless; great horses, fabulous rides, first-class food and accommodation, staffed by a team that feel more like family, who will go out of their way to... More

Was in Horizon already 2013 (not 2015!) it was a lovely spot for relaxed horse riding holiday and in Africa. Can be easily recommended for first visit to Africa as you will feel at ease with the hosts, staff, horses and accommodation. For relaxing riding with well behaved and happy horses in beautiful surroundings :)

From my 4 year old son to my 74 year old mother, including my 2 little nieces and a variety of cousins in between, we all loved the riding adventure at Horizon! Since my last visit Laura Shane and Rupert have developed a lovely family house right next to the 'beach' where the horses come down to drink and swim.... More
