We spent 3 nights, and whilst the setting is absolutely beautiful, the following needs to be addressed: 1) We had no water for 90% of our stay, and while we filled up the bath tub for flushing the toilet, and the lodge management dropped off bottled drinking water, the cause of the problem was apparently a faulty electrical cable to... We went to the Watoto camp at Shikwaru Lodge for 3 nights. It was truly an amazing experience to be in such a secluded part of the bush, far from any daily distractions. Our accommodation was a permanent tent with a full bathroom that was more than comfortable. The lodge experienced a brief problem with water supply to the camp... More

Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff! Great safari tents to stay in with awesome views and fire place. We love going back every year. Game drive very nice although not much game but amazing to see the breading of the Sable and black Impala.

I've travelled to Africa many times over the last 13 yrs. I can say without a doubt that Shikwaru, it's owners, and its staff are one in a million. I love the place so much I've stayed there the last 7 times I've travelled to South Africa. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food fantastic, and the activities are priceless. Whether... More

Shikwaru is a special place, run by really friendly staff. There are a range of places to stay, which for us included one of the main lodges and some of the beautiful thatched tented units out on the perimeter. The walk in from there was fabulous and included sharing parts of it with wildebeest and zebra, among other wildlife. The... More

A great place to visit while in South Africa and also breath taking since you are surrounding with amazing animals. This place offers you a country feeling yet it has everything to make your stay amazing and memorable. The food is amazing, the Internet access awesome, the view both in the morning and when the sun sets is just out... More

Severely overpriced for what we got. A tiny little room in Rafiki (which I was told was the best option) - I have stayed in 4 star for better prices. Electricity went out half the day. No one was at reception when we wanted to buy fire wood to cook food so we made a fire with paper and left... More

We stayed in all four Amani units. The camp is nearly 15 years old and it is beginning to show. With some maintenance, it could be wonderful. Plus points: Communal kitchen, dining area and boma are lovely for large groups to spend some quality time together. Unit 2 was best with all furnishings, etc. functioning properly. Negatives: pool needs maintenance,... More

We rarely give 5 star reviews, perhaps a handful at most, but this is one we simply have to give top rating to. We've stayed in both the cabins and Hope Lodge and love both. The staff are amazing and the food rivals anything we've tasted anywhere. The chef, Conrad, would easily get a top job back in our home... More
