Olifants is a nice place to stay while you are in Kruger National Park. A bungalow on the perimeter makes the extra money worthwile as you get unspoilt panoramic views of the Olifants River and antelopes wander along the fence frequently. The rooms are simple, but clean, just the baboons cause problems here by breaking into the windows and one... More

Although the camp has probably one of the best viewing sites in the whole park, it is a complete disappointment. The rondavels are so cramped that one struggles to get past the foot of the bed and the fridge, the door of which you can't even open more than half due to lack of space. There is not even a... From this camp you have a wonderful view on the river, full of animals. This is in my opinion the only reason to chose this camp. The accommodation is very old, dirty. They do not provide any power plug to charge your phone or camera. You can use the one for the fridge, but please remember to purchase an adapter... More

Friendly staff couldn't offset one's disappointment about Olifant's, especially after a very good experince at Shingwedzi. We stayed in the old bungalows (only available accommodation when we booked). Interiors was and looked about sixty years old. Only a central kitchen available, no individual self-catering in bungalows

We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities at the Olifants Rest Camp. The bungalows are pretty much what we expected from the online photos and reviews but I was not expecting the restaurant to be as nice as it was. It's a Mug and Beans restaurant. That's a chain restaurant but the food was surprisingly good. You can sit either... More

The best place on earth! The camp is very clean and organized, the stuff is very kind and helpful and the bungalows are really cute! Very good facilities, various organized safaris are offered by the camp, but the best time thing on the camp is the view from the restaurant!! You can stay there the whole day to watch animals... We were not expecting that much from a National Park Rest camp camp. While the twin bed arrangement is what it is, the view hut we had was in great shape, the vendor restaurant did a good job, and the view from way above the river below was unique in the park. The morning walk was interesting, but it did... More

Very nice camp with beautiful view, good facilities and nice restaurant. You can see hippos from the restaurant. We did the river walk and was good and informative. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a bungalow at Olifants for 3 nights, and had a great time. Though I would rate the bungalow itself at 3 stars, the location of the camp, the river views and of course the wildlife in Kruger make it a fantastic overall experience. The Bungalow had everything we needed - one double and one single bed, clean... More

Make sure to get a river view room. Although this is in the central park of Kruger, be aware that Kruger is MUCH bigger than you might think. We spent an entire day on the gravel roads between Ollifants and the next rest camp to the south and had to rush to get back in time for the gates to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guests that visit Olifants will be exposed to an unforgettable window of Africa. The camp is situated a top a hill which towers several hundred feet over the Olifants river. Views from the lookout platforms allow one to see the river below, just as a soaring eagle would survey it, as it hunts from the skies. ... more   less
