We visited Tinga lodge in the end of August. For first time safari visitors we were impressed by the property, the amenities and the staff. Laticia and Donna at the reception are very helpful and were able to explain the daily safari rituals very thoughtfully. We were lucky to get Simon and Isaac as out guide and tracker- they are... From a safari perspective they nail it! The ability to go off track and get close is fantastic, their enthusiasm is amazing. Everything is well planned, vehicles well equipped even down to hot water bottles and blankets for morning drives. The guides have amazing vision to spot the animals and knowledge is great. If Leopards, Lions, Giraffe, Zebra, Hyena, Baboons,... More

The Narina Lodge in Lion Sands is superb. From the beautiful setting and interior space(s) to the unforgettable game drives, the experience was even beyond our expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the staff as friendly and welcoming as they could be, and the overall treatment was luxurious. Would go back in a heartbeat...Already urging our friends to... More

My husband and I went there for our honeymoon with high expectations as I have been wanting to go for some time after reading about this place in a travel magazine and the Lion Sands team knocked the ball out of the park! We stayed at Tinga Lodge for two nights and River Lodge for three nights, including one night... More

Really nice stay. If you plan to go, what I recomend, ask for JABULANI to be your Guide/Ranger, and WANTED to be your tracker. They will make you have an unforgetable experience in the bush. The wildlife starts in The Lodge. The food was also excelent and so were the wines. Service was really good. Only good things to say... More

My husband and I stayed at the beautiful Tinga Lodge for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The lodge is located right on the river with beautiful views. Rooms have a plunge pool and a lovely deck over looking the river. You randomly see wild animals walking around the bush while you are sitting in your bath tub with large... More

Every room is spacious, modern, welcoming & has it's own deck with spa! The staff at the lodge is the best of the best! Friendly, warm & welcoming! We stayed there for 4 days... More

I cannot imagine a better vacation. Going in July is wonderful because the weather is cool, and one does not have to deal with mosquitos or lots of heat. Plus, the grasses are low and visibility of the fauna in the bush is much better. Lion Sands makes sure that you have plenty of warmth while on safari and in... More

Lion Sands (Tinga Lodge) was one of the most elegant yet simply stated accommodations we have ever seen. Attention to detail was superb. The rooms (lodges) were exquisite. We just wish we had been there in the summer to take advantage of our private pool and deck looking out at the river. The photos online don't do it justice. And... More

Every aspect of this trip exceeded our expectations. The advantage of a private reserve over the public areas of the park ensured that we experienced multiple sightings of many different animals including the big 5. The safari trackers and Rangers were incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. Accomadations were luxurious with incredible views of the park and the animals from a private... More
