I stayed in Camp Shawu with my boyfriend for two nights in February. It was our first safari experience, and it was the best experience I have ever had in my life! It was a paradise on earth! So peaceful and romantic! The food was great, especially considering we were in the middle of national park. All stuff members were...

This Camp is part of the Shishangeni concession inside the Kruger National Park. Our driver dropped us initially to the main hotel and one of their drivers transported us to the camp. Camp Shawu caters for approx 8 guests and the front of the rooms looks out onto a dam. The rooms have solid walls on 3 sides and the...

What a great place to be, it is our favorite camp in the Kruger. The lake in front of your tent shows you all the time different game. The tents needs some redone, but they promised that this is on their to-do-list. We hope so because we loved to come back. Our ranger Clive was the best ranger we ever...

We stayed at Camp Shawu for three days in August and had an amazing time! It was an amazing combination of luxury and adventure. The main building at Camp Shawu had burned down earlier in the spring and we were offered a room at Shishangani instead if we wanted it. We decided to go ahead and stay at Shawu anyway...

We had a truly memorable stay at Camp Shawu. All the staff from the Camp Manager, Daniel, the Chef Orrell and the staff who cleaned and waited on table were extremely friendly and efficient. They ensured that our stay was very comfortable. The food prepared by the Orrell was truly memorable. No stay in such a camp would be complete...

This was the first safari stop for our group of eight traveling with John Cooper of African Adventures Safari Company. He could not have picked a better spot for our start. We were spoiled by our accommodations, the food, the people, and the animals who put on continuous displays at the water hole viewed from our cottages. A special thanks...

I stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights in late July. We had spent the four preceding nights at public campsites within Kruger, so we were excited to experience a private lodge. Upon arrival at Shishangeni (for transfer to Camp Shawu), we enquired about Camp Shawu's facilities. We were told "not to be shocked" but the camp had burnt...

We spent 5 nights at Shawu as part of a 16 night stay in South Africa. This was our 7th trip to South Africa / Namibia and for wildlife, this is the best yet. The dam at the foot of the camp is showing the affects of the two year drought in that part of Africa so the concentrations of...

This place is part of the concession which is 15000 hectares, one of the biggest in Kruger. The camp is right next to the river and you will see a continuous flow of animals coming to the river from elephant herds to rhinos to zebras to the Pumba. Not to mention the hippos which are always lazing in the water....

Best game viewing we've ever experienced in the Kruger National Park. Guide exceptional. The well designed tents and food service make you step back into the rustic luxury of colonial times, high tea included!
