The Skukuza Rest Camp (Kruger National Park) has, in the camp section, the necessary comfort for camping for a few days, with bathrooms and other fully functional infrastructure. The only drawback is that from the 19 hours the stores, where you can buy food and drinks, are closed, leaving only the restaurant open .

We stayed in one of the small (2person) Bungalow units for a night. The facilities are very basic...shower, toilet inside the unit, kitchen utensils and fridge outside on the patio with braai facilities in front of the unit. This really didn't bother us as we were looking for the "bush" experience without having to pitch a tent. This is not... More

Our tour operator booked us into Skukuza, a large rest camp with a variety of lodging options. Ours was a small thatched roof cottage, which was perfect - incredibly clean, with not a single insect seen in it over three days. While a lot of South Africans staying cooked on their grills outside, we used the Cattle Baron restaurant which... More

My friend and I visited the Golf Club as our half-way house during our one-day game drive. I spotted on the menu what I've never seen before at any golf course in South Africa, namely a "Chuck Steak" with "Mieliepap" (Maize Meal) and Tomato and Onion Relish. It was more than delicious and I will try this as soon as... More

My partner and I stayed at Skukuza Rest Camp for two nights in September 2016. We had read mixed reviews on TripAdvisor before making the booking and our expectations of the place was not high. However, we were pleasantly surprised at our experience there and felt compelled to write a review of our account. Accommodation We stayed in a 2... More

We are a family of 5 and stayed in 2 Rondevels, each had 3 single beds and full linen supplied. They were very clean, spacious and well kept. The pool was lovely after being in the heat all day. I would stay there again. Limited amenities if you wish to self cater, however manageable.

5 star experience all the way! Though I was attending a conference, I travelled with my husband and toddler. While in sessions they enjoyed exploring the grounds, swimming and enjoyed the food! We stayed in one of the individual huts, how charming! The kitchenette was well equipped and the bedroom was spacious and we enjoyed cable tv during our down... More

Stayed in a rondavel with kitchen amenities included. Accomodation was nice and clean, with ensuite shower. Everything one needed was included, although never used as our meals were provided by a private company near the staff village. Skukuza offers the convenience and services whilst providing a great base to explore Kruger. Just be wary of the baboons!

Lovely time in our BD3 bungalow. Did not feel crowded except by the restaurant after morning drive. Had a grand time cooking on our braai and the local velvet monkeys and warthogs coming around when they smelled the food at lunchtime. Fine dining also available at the Cattle Baron restaurant. There is a reason why it is the busiest camp... More

Two of us stayed at the rest camp for 2 nights for purposes of a dental conference. The accommodation was mediocre at best. Just sufficient for a 2 night stay for people who had no intention to cook, or braai etc. Let's say: sufficient for sleeping purposes. Of course, I can't speak for any of the other, larger bungalows. The... More
