This is our second time in Berg-en-dal and we think that the bungalows here are the nicest in the Park. If you're looking for a fantastic river or dam view, this isn't the place for it in winter. But we love the set up of the units and the grounds around them. There is a lovely walking trail around most... More

One of my favourite camping sites in Kruger. You can camp right against the fence and feel right in the wild, though there are people all around you. The bathrooms were not cleaned as regularly as I would have liked. The most wildlife we saw was close to this camp.

I enjoyed this camp a lot. There is a nice feel to it. We camped and you can place your tent right against the fence. We had a leopard walking pass our tent! Whats best is the area around it to drive. Its quite mountainous and we saw lots of awesome species inc honey badger, leopard, hyena, elephant and ground... More

We always love staying at Berg-en-dal as it doesn't take long to get there from the airport. The restuarant on the deck is always great for lunch and the walking track is great to stretch the legs after being in the car. The chalets are set near the bush and you can sit and braai and not hear or sea another... More

This was our favorite rest camp in Kruger. This is partly because it seemed very small, low-key, and quiet, partly because of the stunning hilly landscape, and partly because of the great walking/running track that runs around the perimeter of the camp. After sitting all day in a car, it is great to be able to get out and walk/run... More

The highlight of the stay at Berg-en-dal was waking up to find two white rhinos asleep just behind the bungalow! We also saw lots of vervet monkeys (a very cheeky one stole my banana)! The bungalow was well set out for wheelchair accessibility, the bathroom is huge. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this camp and hope we will... More

I visit the park more than once every year with my family and friends. This year on two of our trips we decided to book only guesthouses. In June Satara and Lower Sabie and in July Berg en Dal and Lower Sabie. The state of these guesthouses is absolutely shocking. At Berg en Dal we stayed in one of the... More

One of three camps visited on our trip (Oliphants and Skukuza as well). Berg en Dal is in hilly terrain in the south of the park, and offers different scenery and game. The camp is nicely set out, but owing to the tremendous drought the dam is currently reduced to a 60 metre long muddy pool (no fault of the... More

This camp was okay, but definitely nothing more than that. It is quite basic compared to most other camps. The area is quite scenic but not great for wildlife-spotting. The houses were quite basic and dark inside. Our towels were dirty upon arrival. The rhino trail was very nice, although it could use some maintenance. Would definitely not stay at... More

For 2 nights, May 26, 27, We had a perimeter bungalow, newly renovated and loved the ethnic high thatched roof. Kitchen was clean and handy. African night sky is full of stars and we can see even the Milky way! AWESOME! Game viewing in the area is terrific... many rhinos if you take the right on exiting the gates; elli... More
