First off note this camp has no electrical power outlets, lights run off solar and the camp has a generator to supply the fridge (no freezer) and geyser in your house. The staff were happy to charge our phones in the office and there are communal freezers available. You can see from the above that this is a basic camp.... More

A beautiful camp. Some of the chalets have recently been refurbished and are pretty well-equipped. The patio furniture is comfortable and fairly new. The view of the river is fabulous and the game activities are continuous and riveting! The only drawback is the lack of plugpoints and the dirt road in is very rough so it is better to just... More

Shimuwini has a great location on the Letaba river with lots of interesting sightings of buck, hippoes, crocs & birds. Its just a pain to have to drive the 11km dirt road back and forth when going game viewing. We did however have good sightings along this strech of road. The camp was clean and tidy. The gas showers run hot &... More

The rooms were spacious and had all the necessities. Not 5 star obviously but clean and sufficient. Plenty of space between us and the neighbor so it is very quiet. The service was great. We went on a night drive and a sunset drive and spotted things we did not see in any other parts of the park. Don't come... More

Decided to try this camp based on the seclusion and great view. Unfortunately our stay (in two 4-bed units) was ruined by very loud fridges on the patio of each unit. Units also are old with lots of small gremlins, like a light, tap, and hot plate not working properly. Enjoyed watching birds on river frontage but game viewing around... More

Loved the location of this camp, on the banks of Letaba River. We shared cottage no. 7 with friends. It has 2 bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom and separate toilet and shower. Large well fitted and equipped kitchen dominated by an enormous fridge. The lounge/dining room is on the veranda which could not be enclosed as one of the... More

I was with 3 friends; two from Mexico and one from South Africa and we had such a wonderful experience whilst staying in the camp. At nights we used to get together with people from all over the world to cook, have a drink and exchange customs and culture. It was one of kind experience!!

We had a whole house for 6 with the 2 of us. At the end of the row with big garden and on the riverside. Very nice, quiet and peaceful. There were 3 rooms with fan, and 3 bathrooms with bath. There was 1 shower outside around the corner. Well equipped kitchen and big terrace with comfy chairs. We loved... More

I finally realized one of my long held wishes to stay in a Bushveld Camp in Kruger NP and traverse the roads there at my own pace. Having been to Kruger a few times before as part of larger groups, I was looking forward to staying in a smaller camp rather than the big Main Camps and Shimuwini did not... More
