Spend a couple of days at this lovely rest camp. Saw wild life and had warm weather of up to 28 degrees Celcius while the rest of South Africa experienced extreme cold weather. When you plan to visit remember to pack your wild life and bird books with your camera and binoculars. Bring a warm jacket for early morning and... More

It was our first visit to Shingwedzi and we were very impressed. The bungalows are modern and clean and very well equipped. The veranda was a great place for reading and watching the world go by. The day visitors area on the river is a great place to sit and read and watch game. We are already planning a return... More

This part of the Kruger National Park is much closer to the real thing than what you would find further south. The camp is medium sized, compared to other Sanparks camps. The chalets are luck of the draw: some of the newer ones are spacious and well laid out, but some of the older ones are cramped. All facilities are... More

Surrounded by a river setting, the camp is nicely tucked away. The camp is clean, staff are friendly and chalets are well catered. There is a large camping area, the pool is stunning and the view over the river is wow! I also recommend the night drive! Shadrack (our guide) was brilliant! The only camp I'll stay at in the... I have wanted to visit Northern Kruger for ages. Finally booked 3 nights at Shingwedzi. Our accommodation was fantastic. The bungalow was spacious & I love the outdoor kitchen on the veranda. It makes no sense being locked up inside when in such a wonderful place. The ceilings are incredibly high- I assume for the summer heat (it was 30degrees... More

I always prefer the northern camps. Game may be scarcer but we saw mating Lion, Hyena and plenty of elephant. Shingwedzi, whilst upgraded, retains its charm. Facilities were good with a broken kettle quickly replaced. Park authorities need to do something about those breaking the speed limits. My quick count was that over 80% were delivery or parks board vehicles.

Unfortunately this is one of the few (the only one) negative experiences we had in the KP. The restaurant and main office area gave me the impression that the personal are not interested in their work.

We camped at Shingwedzi for 4 nights, the camp grounds were clean and neat, everything worked and the staff were friendly from check in to the cleaners and the shop staff, there is not a huge variety of food to buy in the shop only the basics so make sure you have enough. There are campsites with and without power... More

Shingwedzi is a lovely camp. However, the restaurant was awful when we visited. I don't usually write such a bad review but then again it is not often we are served food that is verging on inedible. We ordered 2 pizzas (which should be a safe bet) but they took ages to be served and when they finally arrived they... More
