We stayed in a tent during our safari trip tru the south of africa. The tent was clean and the separated facilities as well. Of course inroom bath and toilett would be better, but this was the deal. Wild life can be experianced on site and just around the corner. This is really great. Unfortunatelly our post cards where mailed... More

This camp is on the banks of the Letaba River. There is good game viewing in the vicinity and it is known as a site for big cats and elephant. All of the huts are in easy walking distance of the river and the restaurant. The huts are small but are equipped with a kettle and enough power points to... More

The park is nice. But the bungalows aren't very special. We had a good night rest and did some nice braai. But it's not very good value for money. But you know that. Staying in Kruger does not offer very good value for money. But the location is off course amazing. There was great riverview from the restaurant and some... More

We did not like the little houses we stayed in. They looked very old and worn. The beds were also quite poor. The one thing we did like was the surroundings. Me and my family saw many elephants and other wildlife, which made it our stay worthwile.

I love Letaba, the big old shady, the river, bush babies and bucks and a good resteraunt. The accommodation is basic but comfortable. If you have ever stayed in a Kruger the rest camp you know what to expect. There is decent game viewing to be had from the camp itself and I rate it for birding as well. The... More

We have been many times before, and it is always brilliant. The museum is still wonderful. Staff are really helpful, especially the much loved Susan. The swimming pool, shop and recently upgraded restaurant are great. And of course the wildlife is amazing. AND YES FOREIGNERS SHOULD PAY MORE! We earn far more than South Africans. The price is still very... More

Stayed in the safari tents for two nights. Tents not quite as new as the ones in Tamboti but perfectly OK. The facilities (toilet block, kitchen, laundrette) were clean and good. The camp was much larger than tamboti and felt more like a Eurocamp than a wilderness experience (unlike Tamboti) but the view from the restaurant area was absolutely fantastic.... More

I stayed 10 times in the park during the last years (4 times the last three years) and several times in Letaba. This comment is about my stay in August 2016. Letaba is well situated in the middle of the Northern part. The camp is pleasant, even if the small bungalows are too close from each others and noisy neighbours... More

Spending a week at the Letaba Camp in Kruger was just what I needed recently. A family group of ten of us broke away from Gauteng's busy lifestyle to recharge in an annual bush break. This year we went to the middle of Kruger, choosing Letaba's Melville Guest House and one of the six-bedded family units alongside it. The accommodation... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand", and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent. ... more   less
