Booked in an 8bed unit through Safarilicious. On arrival, no keys left at gate as pre-arranged. Struggled to open unit as keys not marked. Lamp shades broken, toilet seat broken, taps loose, shower leaks, curtains off rails, no guest amenities for the price paid, it should be included. Clearly no upkeep or maintenance is in place. Do no recommend.

We booked through Bush Retreat (www.bushretreat.com). The instructions were clear and everything was arranged within a day. Once we arrived the pool had gotten a little dirty because of wind, someone was sent in no time to come fix it. We looked out on a watering hole, so we had an amazing view of the animals drinking daily. All the... More

I booked through Safarilicious. The first house we were booked into had no electricity in the second bedroom so no lights and no air-conditioning. I called the lady in charge who said that she would sort it out. She said that the person who fixes air-conditioners had gone home so she would move me. In the second house, the air-conditioner... Stay away from this place. Stayed over one night for business. I was booked into a half build unit in the middle of a construction site. This was after the confused guards at the entry gate send me around the Wild Life Estae because nobody knew where is was suppose to go.

If you like nature like me, then this is the place to stay. I was put up in a 4 bedroomed unit with a great living area and braai area. It is ideal for groups and families at reasonable prices. It is the bush in town. I loved it

We stayed in Lodge 511 - Drongo Bush Lodge, which is a 4 bedroom / 4 bathroom (2 with showers & 2 with baths but all en suite) self catering lodge on the estate. It was really lovely, well equipped and had all that we needed for the weekend. We were not made aware that the daily servicing of the... More

The 4 sleeper, self catering lodge (#243) had everything we needed. With the outside shower and game roaming around the house, made the stay a real bush experience. A 5 minute drive to town made it ideal to explore all the activities in and around Hoedspruit.

The self-catering lodge was wonderful for a family getaway. We were on our own time, but were so well looked after by the cleaning staff and helpful staff around the lodge.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stay at a beautiful luxury self catering bush lodge on a wildlife estate near Hoedspruit, a stone’s throw from the world-renowned Kruger National Park. The lodge lodge consists of 3 separate buildings; the main lodge area houses the kitchen, lounge, dining room and guest toilet, and the 2 separate bedroom wings sleep a maximum of 8 guests over 4 bedrooms. The big patio and firepit are perfect for socialising, watching the wildlife that roams around the estate, or for stargazing at night. The firepit comes with a big braai (BBQ grid), a feature much loved by our guests. Wildlife such as impala, kudu, waterbuck, zebra, giraffe, warthog and others roam freely between the lodges. At night, you'll hear the hyena, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a leopard or lion. There are several game drive routes on the estate itself. Guests can drive these in their own vehicles. ... more   less
