What a great place to be at. If you like to feel like a privileged guest of honour I recommend The Blyde River Wilderness Lodge. Here, just about 10 km. from the main road you feel like you are in an oasis in the middle of nowhere. My wife and I had a hard time finding the place. Without a...

Stopped over for a couple of nights on way to Kruger. Long bumpy road in but worth the effort. Accommodation very nice set in some lovely gardens. Zebra and giraffe in the outer grounds and easily visited. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Recommended.

Much nicer than the featured pictures on Trip Advisor suggest. Pros: The huts are well maintained with nice furnishings, the grounds are green and scenic, and the breakfast and dinner was quite good. They have some giraffe, zebra, peacocks, and nyala on site The nyala herd grazed right around our hut. Cons: fairly long bumpy drive in, but didn't bother...

We stayed here en route to Kruger from Blyde Canyon. Beware, it's a 6-7km drive off the R527 on a gravel road, which is fine, but my map didn't indicate it, and there were no instructions when we booked it. Once you get there, you will be happy you made the drive. The lounge and restaurant overlook the Blyde river,...

We had just one night at the Lodge, but it was lovely. The bungalow was big and clean. Nice animals in the garden. Friendly staff and particularly good food! We enjoyed our meat and dessert. We recommend it.

We had to find a place on our way to the Kruger, the location was perfect, the lodge very peaceful, conveniently situated near the river, the rooms nice although the double bed is quite small... Prefer the twin beds option!

Dear Bene Rousseau Thank you for feedback. I agree with you that we have a special piece of paradise here. Our double rooms have queen size beds but if you request next time that we put a joining cover on the twin beds that will make them a king size. We look forward to seeing you soon Regards Cynthia and...

We stayed here for a couple of nights in Owl House, the service was very good and the staff very friendly, we ate in the restaurant as you are a distance from other amenities the food was good. Our room was looking a little tired and probably could benefit from a refurbishment.

To get to this hidden gem you need to travel a unpaved road, which is very long and sometimes a bit of a challenge with a normal car. The lodge is set in a private reserve and lots of wildlife stroll around. Once you get to the lodge, it is like you arrived in heaven! The grounds are very well...

Unfortunately, I only stayed one night while traveling from Johannesburg to Kruger but it was a great nights rest. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms, hot showers, and awesome breakfast. I arrived very late so I didn't get to sample the night meal. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's definitely...

We stayed in the kingfisher bungalow and it was very well equipped. We opted in cooking our own dinner and were not left wanting. The bungalow is basic yet homely. Breakfast was great with the fresh made scones needing a mention. Check out the surrounding area and ensure its close to what your travel plans are e.g. Going to graskop...
