Certificate of Excellence
The Vuyani Safari Lodge is located on the Moditlo Wildlife Estate within the Blue Canyon Conservancy which is more than 36,000 acres in size. Located next to the Kruger National Park, at the foot of the Drakensberg mountain range, Vuyani Safari Lodge is one of South Africa's premier luxury safari lodges, in the country's most famous area for African wildlife. The Vuyani Safari Lodge is one of only 2 licensed lodges on this reserve, and with only 10 suites, it offers one of the most exclusive African safari experiences in South Africa. The reserve offers a unique opportunity to observe all of Africa's large game such as the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, hippo and crocodile as well as some of the very rarest species, amongst others the wild dog, the brown hyena, the ground hornbill, cheetahs and several other highly endangered animals. Almost 400 various species of birds have been counted. Some of the rarest European migratory birds visit the reserve in the European winter months.

Just on our way home from 4 days at the lodge. It was amazing - one of the best things I have ever done. We saw all the big animals in the park - so close you could almost touch them. An experience I’ll never forget.

One extra call out - the staff. They were beyond amazing, I ha

What a wonderful start to our South African trip! My friend and I had been planning to go on a safari holiday for years and this did not disappoint. The lodges and the service are exceptional. We were lucky that our safari drives included some fabulous people (the three sisters

Just don't know where to start..

Found Vuyani on secret escapes, little did I then know it would be a dream holiday. Begun by the ever so approachable Bernard and Justine who reassured us via text, emails and calls that we had nothing to worry about. We had booked the beautiful

THIS PLACE IS JUST AMAZING. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The food was beautifully prepared fresh and very tasty. The choice of cooked breakfasts was the best ever. Sadly the only room available was the owners suite which is not recommended, as although i

I came on this holiday with my two sisters, one of which had been on safari in Kenya a couple of Years ago and we were all a little dubious about how a small private reserve would compete with my sisters reports on her previous safari. We need not have worried. If we could give t

Hi We are due to visit in January and have only just found out about the issues with taking a child to South Africa when one only biological parent is present (divorced couples etc). Has any one experienced the same and do I really have to pay for Court Orders etc to do this? The missing dad in this equation is more than happy for us to take the kids on holiday and we have never been asked for this level of administration before. Any one help?
There is no one answer. It depends upon your family situation. The Answers should be on gov.uk website. Allow a bit more time at the airport to present your paperwork, just incase of any delays in the queue.

We are staying at vuyami lodge frm 27-30 dec and then heading on to Victoria falls I was just wondering is it possible to rent a car frm hoedspruit and drive to Victoria falls?? I know it's a 15 hr drive but I love an adventure just wondering is it safe firstly and if there's a problem collecting a rental car frm 1 country and leaving in another ?? Thanx in advance for any help people can give
One driver warned us that the local police target hire cars for bribes. It seemed they get paid very little and are on the look out for bribes, drinks, sweeteners! Lots of big deep potholes but very light traffic. Spectacular scenery so enjoy. Long distances between petrol stations. Don't drive at night.

Not be long now (Saturday) Our GP has advised us to take malaria tablets. Anyone have any thoughts about this please?
We went in July and did not take them nor were we bitten. Maybe in summer but ask the lodge they are so helpful. You will have a great stay there.

Sorry to be a pain but how cold is the morning game drive, would we need thermals or just normal trousers etc?
Depending on what time of year you are going (we were there at the beginning of August...their winter) and it is cold in the morning...but we did not need thermals. They provide blankets but you definitely will want to wear long pants, warm coats and maybe a hat. Once the sun comes up it gets really warm and lovely very fast!!

Is insect repellant supplied or do you bring your own?
A repellent was provided but we visited in July and did not get bitten at all! We did on our return to UK !! I did take a plug in Deet 50 as recommended here but it was not needed. You will have a wonderful time
