Went for a few days felt like weeks... so peaceful and tranquil. Beautiful setting... cabin was very homey and cozy. Will definitely come visit again if I am in that area again. It was unfortunately raining most of the weekend but even in the rain we were very comfortable. Almost want to keep it a secret.

We enjoyed the quiet surroundings and beautiful views. We even tried our hand at bass fishing until it started to rain. The gasbraai come in very handy and the wood supplied was left for another day. DSTV is a nice creature comfort if the weather really drives you indoors.

One of our favourite off-the-beaten-track spots. I'm actually reluctant to write this review, as we almost want to keep Toorbos what it is at the moment still - a hidden gem. Utterly relaxing, quiet and peaceful hideaway in the country and yet equipped with all the luxuries you need. Recharging here for a view days makes one feel like you've...

Toorbos is a very pretty working Macadamia farm. We spent a weekend in one of the well appointed wooden chalets next to a large, beautiful dam. Everything we needed was available in the chalet, including fishing rods and small boat with oars and optional outboard motor. The evenings were especially good, with millions of stars visible and an excellent frog...

The cottage has everything you need. Including a heater and electric blankets. A lovely braai area outside with outdoor furniture and a beautiful spot out on the lake to sit and watch the wildlife. The only thing I didn't like was the pungent smell of mothballs in the extra bedding and a dog that ran out barking every time prevented...

Essentially fisherman's cottages (there are 4 built around the dam), however very cosy for the family. Nice touch with each cottage having there own boat and electric motor to do a little bass fishing on the dam. Cabins are small but have everything needed for a self catered stay. Our cottage was a 1 bedroom with a sleeper couch in...

Quaint little cabin on the river bank with the most wonderful view. Interior was beautiful: the linen, scatter cushions, drapes, all obviously carefully selected. It is all simple, yet we felt spoiled. The kitchen has all the necessities and we did not miss any utensil or anything. Very private. We had our own built braai next to the river, but...

Having come from Botlierskop Private Game Reserve to Toorbos, I was a bit taken back but can't really complain as it is what it is. On arrival, I was given the keys to my hut as i was staying there by myself to waste time for 4 nights and it was ideal for me as it has a 'Dam' and...

Although this facility has a lot of potential its current management's lack of regard to the needs of their guests will soon cause its downfall. When we arrived the owner curtly gave us the keys to our chalet and directions on how to get there. I soon had to learn that night through painful experience hat the tap water was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Magic self-catering farm accommodation in Wilderness on South Africa's Garden Route Coast. This is country living at its most genuine: the two cottages occupy a quiet corner of our 86 hectare Toorbos farm, overlooking a large dam and some of our 60 hectares of macadamia orchards-the ideal place for family holidays. Rest and relax on your own wooden deck, take time out on the dam for a spot of catch-and-release bass fishing, enjoy walking or mountain biking on the farm or in the surrounding forests and countryside, take a quick drive to the quiet of Wilderness' endless, almost-deserted beaches or to the excitement and glitz of the Garden Route Mall in George. ... more   less
