Since our arrival we felt at home, we received a warm welcome. Breakfast was delicious. View from window, was breath taking, and it was great to listen to the ocean. Would refer anybody there, would also book again.
The accommodation was very comfortable, is at a great and safe location and the breakfast was awesome. The hosts were also very friendly and helpful. The Wilderness is a great village to relax and be away from the city buzz. It also has good restaurants and a supermarket if anything is required.
We arrived at Whales Way and even though we were earlier than check-in time Ralf really made us feel welcome! During the 18 day stay, it was our base and home away from home, in fact, it was better than home. We knew (as we had booked into a Bed & Breakfast we knew we would need to cater for lunches and suppers, however the breakfasts were so plentiful, filling and delicious, that we had to skip lunch and only decide where to go for dinner :) There was one evening when Benji (Ralf's son) enquired if he could make us dinner - he had gone fishing and wanted to share the bounty. This dinner was made with a passion for cooking, the fish was incredible. Benji went out of his way to ensure the evening was a romantic one for my husband and I. There were some evenings that we did not want to venture out so stayed in and played pool & darts, we had a incredible evening with Ralf and Bianca, where Ralf and my husband played against Bianca and I and the gents barely beat the ladies :) It was just superb! We felt like family. The rooms were sparklingly and nothing was too much trouble. As we were there for an extended period, Whales Way even did our laundry (wash, dry and iron) which was very welcomed! I can only recommend Wales Way as an exceptional place to stay, we were asked each morning what we were doing and suggestions made as to the areas to visit for things to do - we were informed which routes to take when necessary. Lets just say - we will be back (and often!) …
Our overall experience was very bad. The room we got was literally in the parking area. This is a prime example of a house turned into short term rental and then take one step to far to squeeze every single dime out of it. The room is dark and cold even with the curtains open. Being that the room is in the parking area means you have absolutely no privacy, so have to keep all the curtains drawn. The pictures of this room is not a good representation of what you get. Communication with the property manager was not very good. Our experience was so bad that we ended up staying elsewhere.
Room was very neat and more than grand enough. Had a wonderful rest here. Host very helpful, after initial mix-up on check-in, but the rest of our stay let us quickly forget about that. Breakfast was out of this world! Really fantastic. Wouldn't mind coming here again, but than in a slightly warmer time of the year.
Warm, kind, friendly hosts. Lovely clean room. Excellent breakfast. Very welcoming environment. A home away from home. Beautiful area and so close to the beach. We will definitely be back. Thank you 🙏🏻
Such a great stay, amazing and friendly service! Highly recommended! Will definitely be back as soon as we can! Great breakfast the next day to top it all off! Overall a very relaxing get away with a stunning view!
Extremely helpful host. Located overlooking the sea. The biggest and best quality breakfast I had in South Africa. Great touches like fresh fruit - even use of a pool table in a games room. Try “Girls on the Square” for dinner. Highly recommended.
We had the greatest time at this amazing BnB. The view was spectacular and the suite was really special. The breakfast was also really excellent. We would recommend this for Avery couple who wants to enjoy a romantic getaway..
We stayed in the Sky Penthouse Suite (our friends stayed in the Blue Room). Our room is quite large, bright and airy, clean and fresh. The bed was oh-so-comfortable! The views are lovely. The breakfasts are marvelous, beautifully prepared and presented, cooked exactly to order. On check-in guests are asked for preferences, allergies, likes and dislikes. We couldn't think of anything, but later one of our group mentioned a dislike for yogurt, which was present and unavoidable in the morning's fruit. Our host smilingly provided a beautiful freshly prepared fruit cup without yogurt. Friendly, responsive, informative! Yes, the physical location is stunningly beautiful, but ultimately it's the people who make a place memorable. Treat yourself!
