Whale's Way is a stunning ocean-front retreat where you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Enjoy the spectacular ocean and mountain views and watch whales and dolphins from your bedroom. Most of the rooms have ocean views, TV, DVD and CD player. The style is light and open-plan with a natural elegance. The Penthouse rooms are particularly luxurious and decadent, perfect for those who appreciate the best of everything. Relax in the jacuzzi overlooking the Indian Ocean, walk along the deserted beach, enjoy a breathtaking sunset and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. Many fine golf courses nearby. Close proximity to activities such as canoeing, paragliding, horse riding and more. Award-winning restaurants close by.

On the positive side the view of the sea from the balcony was wonderful. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the sea was excellent. The staff were pleasant. But our room (Eden Room) was advertised as a luxury room with air conditioning. It was a long way from being luxury. The

Overall a very pleasant stay. Beautiful ocean view. Stayed in the Ocean suite. Spacious and comfortable with special touches for a special stay. The room could do with a bit of a spruce up as it looks a little "tired". Very comfortable bed. A negative was that they did not

We stayed 1 night only. Arrived to a so-so welcome. At first glance nice and clean but actually in need of TLC msintenance. Breakfast was strange. No choice. Starter good but the eggs all arrived wrong, dry scramble egg and request to put it on top of the toast was declined.

Good Afternoon Ushandra Thank you for taking the time to write a report on Whale's Way Ocean Retreat. The welcome was done at it's best, taking into consideration, that the person who made the reservation did not come to the check in point to complete the form, and be welcomed. We normally receive our guests that visit in groups, at the same time, welcome them, and explain everything, before we personally take each to their room. 4 guests, two rooms, and the booker unidentified. You mention that you had no choice, but the the eggs arrived all wrong? Surely their must have been a choice, if you say it was wrong. At the breakfast table, we have a choice of Boiled eggs, Scrambled eggs, Poached eggs, fried eggs, french toast, or a omelet. All served with bacon, fried onions and peppers, mushrooms, avo, tomato and hash-browns. A choice of 5 different fruit juices. I remember you asked me about the eggs on top of the toast, on which I replied the toast is self-service, as is the coffee/black tea/rooibos tea or hot chocolate. As for the "in need of TLC", I am happy to announce that the new owner, since 1 January 2019, will be starting upgrades, and renovation soon. Unfortunately these can't be done during our peak season, without inconveniencing our guests.

The room was worn, damp and earthy. Didn't live up to 4 stars at all. The service was similarly poor. Everything bore clear traces of poor or completely lack of maintenance.I cannot recommend this accommodation.

Good Afternoon "Malpepo" Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It saddens me that guests can make such comments and remarks without identifying themselves under the same name they had their reservations made at Whale's Way Ocean Retreat. Our decor is rustic, therefore the "worn" look. We live right next to the Ocean, therefore the "damp" and high maintenance. We are still in a full "high season" during which it is almost impossible to do any kind of maintenance without inconveniencing our guests. Having said that I regret that everything was not to your satisfactory. As for the service, I gladly refer readers to all the other reviews on this, and other forums.
