Wilderness is a nice little place, and great for a one night stop. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the boardwalk round the lagoon and then walking back along the fabulous beach, but if you are not into walking / beaches you might strugle to find things to do. Palms was a really great choice, the rooms are comfortable, characterful, and well... More

Stayed here while driving the Garden Route from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. Only stayed 2 nights but was expecting something amazing from reviews I had read. Although the rooms were comfortable and clean and staff friendly it is in a rather strange setting. Wilderness itself feels like a wild west town - small and only rather average restaurants within... A hideaway off the beaten track is a must to stay at. The owners are extremely friendly and one of the best things we found is that at dinner, they ask you when you would like your main course. No rushing around here!

Fantastic stay in a beautiful guest house. Owners Wayne and Vicky were inviting, welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. After Cape Town, palms was a welcome change of pace. Our room had a wonderful thatched conical thatched roof and, although very dark inside, was decorated with thoughtful touches. If you are looking for somewhere overlooking the long,... More

If you are travelling along the garden route then this is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and very well appointed. This really is a retreat - and a treat! There is plenty of peace and quiet and the Palms Widerness is well positioned for walks in Wilderness National Park. Five minutes walk away is the ocean... More

We had read all the reviews & felt we were in for a treat however it was not to be! Our first impressions were marred by Vicky as she scolded us like school children for parking in the wrong spot so I think she was on a loser straight away. To be fair Wayne & the management team were very... More

I found this place by chance and decided to stay based on the reviews with the restaurant and boy I was glad. We unfortunately only stayed for the 1 night. Wayne was a great host and it was nice to sit down after dinner with him, drink a little and exchange stories. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR DINNER!!!!!!!!!!! You... More

Really, the Palms Wilderness is perfect. Simple as that. We spent a wonderful, and all too short, 3 nights at the Palms in November. Our thatched-roofed room was incredibly spacious with many small touches which make such a difference. We ate at the Palms at 2 of our 3 nights, and wished we had on the third as well -... More

My wife and I stayed at the Palms three weeks ago and it was superb, firstly a real warm welcome from Wayne (will come back to him later). The room was immaculately clean, had nice detail that women notice such as fresh lavender on the step to the corner bath and loo roll tied up with wicker. The food in... More

Our family of mom and dad and two teenagers stayed for 2 nights in summer of 2008 (sorry just getting to write this review now). This is the best place we have ever stayed in and we have stayed at the Ritz in Barcelona, 4 Seasons in USA, Table Mountain in Capetown, top boutique hotels in London and Paris etc.... More
