We stayed in July over our wedding anniversary. It snowed and was bitterly cold, but that's what we love! We stayed in Pygmy cottage, which is a quaint little cottage with a lovely fireplace downstairs. We also made friends with one of their cats. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. We even had a delicious butter chicken curry brought... More

Had a wonderful getaway from city living in Woodland Cottage which was well equipped and spacious enough to accommodate all 8 of us. We enjoyed the picturesque setting of the accommodation and its close proximity to Underberg and the views of the snow covered berg. Would love returning in warmer weather.

Fantastic, rustic. Perfect hideaway.Just missed the snow. Ideal venue for our dogs and within easy reach of the Berg & Sani Pass. Well appointed cottages & great hiking in the hills and riversides. This time of the year beautiful warmish days but bitterly cold at night.

What a beautiful place by the river! My husband and I stayed in Bower and had a wonderful weekend. The unit has a lovely and well equipped kitchen with full size fridge and gas hob, the bathroom is large and has a double shower as well as a comfy corner bath. The bedroom was luxurious, and with a fireplace in... More

It is very cold inside. There are electric blanquets. In the breakfast area, bar etc was no heating. Nice palce to stay... More

We loved this place, situated on the Umzimkulu River, the accommodation was homely, clean and comfortable and the owners very friendly and accommodating. we spent our days hiking along the river, going for long walks in the fields, visiting the small village of Himeville close by and chatting to the locals, or exploring the beautiful nature and drive of the... Enjoyed the setting and hospitality. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms require a good clean and maintenance. Didn't want to risk making a fire, as the Pied A had a very strong smoke overall odour, and didn't want to take a chance of being smoked out..

Spent a 3 day reunion with family at the Giant Cabin, what a fantastic cabin, lodge and river location. We were greeted by lovely and genuine staff. The lodge and restaurant were cosy and clean and there were even tables set up on a deck overlooking the river. The play area was a little dated and worn but the kids... More

There is no relationship between location and accomodation. On the positive side, the view was splendid and the meal offered was tasty. Open fires in the bar and dining room areas were very inviting and cosy. The upstairs room was pleasant. On the negative side, the unit needs maintenance and the veranda was dirty. No coffee or tea available in the room.No heater... More
