I recently stayed at the Teremok Marine with my sister and absolutely loved it. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived the welcome we received was amazing and all the staff are so kind and helpful. It is a beautiful boutique hotel situated in a quiet residential road in an affluent area of Umhlanga with ample free parking. It is an easy walk (about 20 minutes) along the promenade into town, where you will find plenty of varied restaurants and shops. A little further along the promenade brings you to the beach area with lifeguards, where it is safe to swim. The Teremok also offers a free shuttle to and from the town if you don’t fancy the walk. The Lighthouse Bar at the Oyster Box Hotel is a nice location for a drink. We were in the Juliet room which was large and had a wonderful enormous bathroom. The 8 rooms are all decorated differently but are very stylish. The beds are large and very comfortable and there are so many extras including air conditioning, DVD players, gorgeous toiletries & slippers. We both had a facial at the spa which was very relaxing and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, we only spent one night and the weather wasn’t great so we didn’t use the pool but it looked lovely with plenty of sunbeds available. The breakfast was amazing. The menu changes every day and you get a choice of hot food, cooked to order. This is in addition to the cereal, fruit, juices, smoothies, pastries and muffins. The staff are all wonderful and the service is top class. In the lounge area you can help yourself to tea and coffee all day and there is also an honesty bar. In the evening there is free port and sherry with nibbles, which is a fantastic idea. There are plenty of areas to sit and relax, both inside and out, with lots of reading material too. It is the attention to detail and all the finishing touches that make this hotel so special. The friendly and first-class service you receive from the owners and staff make this the perfect place to stay. I wish we had been there longer and would love to return some day.…
Although I usually stay in large well know hotels, I was absolutely blown away with how lovely this small boutique hotel was to stay in. Unfortunately we only stayed one night but the whole experience was excellent. The room was large and beautiful, the food at breakfast was exceptional, the the spa treatment was very relaxing and the complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge was a really nice touch. From the initial booking to the time we left I was so impressed with the personal help and service we were given by the owners and staff. I would definitely choose the Teremok to stay in again.
Stayed here as our first stop on our little road trip. So glad we did. Our flight from London arrived into Durban really early in the morning and we headed straight to Teremok to drop our bags. To our delight, our room was ready and they gave us breakfast too. All of the staff were wonderful. Breakfasts delicious. An added bonus is the free shuttle to and from the village for supper. Meant we could both drink and not have to worry about parking. Would definitely stay here again if we visit. Thank you Teremok
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to travellers to Umhlanga. The rooms are very well appointed and have all the facilities and amenities you can think of and are air conditioned. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and the breakfast staff were so friendly and helped with everything. There is a pantry in the sitting area where you can help yourself to coffee and tea and also an honesty bar with a wide variety of wines and spirits. All the staff were very friendly and so helpful. We really appreciated the lifts to local restaurants and other attractions. Than you for a wonderful few days !
