We came here to celebrate my birthday, and my husband mentioned it on booking but no one seemed to have acknowledged it. The setting is very beautiful, and for a four star rating we had high expectations, but we left thinking we probably should have stayed somewhere cheaper and saved the extra pennies. Things we liked: Beautiful setting Lovely menu with great choice and delicious food Sun loungers by the pool for some R&R Our cosy tent - had everything we needed Things we didn’t like: Being woken at 7am on our last morning by workmen moving bricks which had been sitting in a pile near our tent since we arrived - this isn’t what we expected in four star accommodation The misleading wording on the website about tours - regarding full board stay it says “Accommodation, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and guests have the choice of one of the following activities (per person per day): Falaza Game Drive, False Bay Walk or a Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Drive”. When we arrived we were told we could only do the Hluhluwe game drive, and not anything else. We felt very mislead. Slowness of service - for every meal we waited over an hour before we even got so much as a drop of water, let alone food! Again, really not up to four star standard. No way of knowing if there’s availability for a tent with an outside bathroom, we were really disappointed there weren’t any, and that we still paid the same price for one without. It was a long trip to the Hluhluwe game reserve. 1/3 of the tour time was spent travelling. I wouldn’t return here again. I think they need to do some work on reaching true four star standards, and I’d stay somewhere nearer the Hluhluwe reserve and save some pennies.…
It was our anniversary weekend, and from arrival to departure, we were treated like royalty. We were given a special turn-down for our anniversary too, with flowers and a personalized note. It's such a beautiful location, and all the staff were so friendly and efficient. We had our own ranger, named Jeffrey, who was so knowledgeable, which made our already fantastic game drive even better. The spa was lovely too, we highly recommend their massages. Thank you, Falaza, for making our Anniversary so special. All in all, it's a must visit! We hope to be back soon.
This is an incredible place to stay; the setting is absolutely beautiful and you instantly feel how peaceful and calm it is here. Every single staff member was friendly and super helpful and showed such kindness and patience to our children. It isn’t easy catering to a vegan diet and the chef went out of his way to accommodate us at every meal. Our room was beautiful, our spa treatments were amazing, our ranger Steve was so good with our children, you can only say good things about this amazing place! Thank you for being so understanding and sweet with two noisy and extremely busy toddlers! Laurie and Amy Martin
Totally disgusted with our stay. On arrival, the spa staff were not friendly. Husband and I had a massage in the same room. Not worth the money... therapists need training. Room that we were given was great, except there were 3 screaming children. We were moved, to a room that had no view and could still hear the screaming children. No apologies from management or advisement to the person of the children to quiten down. 3 days of screaming. 7am to 7pm. No quietness!!! Made a bath one night, couldn't let the water out. Went to management who sent 2 staff with a broom to open the water outlet. Next day was advised by the 1 staff member it was fixed. No apologies from management. Made another bath, tried to let the water out... didn't work. For a 4 star place, that is expensive, one would assume that everything works.. and that management engage with their patrons. Don't go there if you want to relax and unwind. Total waste of money and too stressful. Most disappointing. …
From arrive you get treated like 5 star service such beautiful peaceful place to stay, its such a experience staying in a glamping tent the best is the bath outside it’s so lovely to chill in the nature. The food is absolutely excellent and fantastic service. The staff make you feel at home and are so helpful in anything you ask for. I highly rate this place as a fantastic game lodge. I would highly recommend the spa this add relaxation to your holiday.
Everything was perfect, the staff were amazing, the accommodation superb and loved the outdoor bath and shower. The units are set apart for privacy and getting up early in the morning is such a treat as surrounded by wildlife. Spa treatments are highly recommended and staff very professional. We were totally spoilt with a 3 hour game drive and Jeffrey is a real pro at spotting animals and manoeuvring the vehicle to get the best pictures. He also led us in a 10km walk in the Sand Forest and his knowledge is incredible. After 3 nights, we were sad to leave and look forward to coming back again soon!
Awesome place to stay . Service and food is world class. Special mention to Steve who took us on tours . Extremely knowledgeable and a great peoples person. Siyandas service is outstanding. always aim to please . 5 stars all round
It was a perfect location to celebrate my 50th birthday. Food was amazing and thanks to the kitchen for arranging cake, Game rangers & drives were excellent. Rooms were modern and neat. Game drives were great and had good sightings on each occasion.
We decided to spend 2 nights at falaza after our amazing experience at africamps. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 girls 6 and 10. Upon check in we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who checked us in and proceeded to send us for welcome drinks. I must mention though that the communication needs to be improved. The lady showed us the activities offered but didn't really go into detail, maybe because she knew we had researched it prior, however she should have spent alittle time explaining this to us. Our package was breakfast and dinner and we are halaal ,however she failed to mention that they had catered halaal for us. We only found out this when we requested to speak to the speak to ask if alcohol was used in the fish.A tip would be to email the guests and inform them that their needs were taken care of. The food at breakfast and dinner was amazing beyond expectation. We were pleasantly surprised. Dinner was a soup with fresh rolls, salad, main and dessert. Just expect meals to take awhile but it is worth it.the frustrating thing was we were only told on our second night that the kids are not allowed to order of the adults menu. Again lack of communication this should be communicated upon check in and not at the dinner table.make sure you are aware of what you order we had a few items not ordered put onto our bill however this was reversed when queried. We did the crocodile tour and a spa treatment both were amazing. The crocodile tour was very informative the kids enjoyed it. The spa treatment was amazing Miranda is truly a magician. Unfortunately there were no kiddies activities as advertised and the reception was pretty nonchalant when questioned. The frustrating bit was this was the only reason we chose Falaza over the other venues.the plus tough is there is scrabble and monopoly and card at the communal lounge so that kept us busy for a little.the outdoor pool is also a hit and cocktails can be served however service is hard to come by. Tea and coffee as well as fresh water is available in the room. hairdryers are also provided. Rooms are not air-conditioned so it does get hot in summer. Fand are provided The room with the outdoor bathroom was a real win. The bath and shower was very relaxing. Excellent place for a couples weekend to just read a good book, enjoy a romantic dinner and a spa spoil. This place will truly be 4 star if communication is beter and staff are friendlier. …
Thank you for making our stay a memorable one. Staff were very professional and friendly. Food was lovely. Great stay all round. If you are looking for a place to relax then this is it. Spa treatment was wonderful. Cocktails by the pool were a treat. Will definitely go back.
