Close to the game reserve and very comfortable room with good facilities. The service and the food were very good and they do laundry for us at very short notice. The views are lovely and the outside dining was cozy even when it was cold outside.

We visited this lodge in May for two nights, and it was a place we won't forget. Fabulous chalets, clean and spacious; fantastic hosts and staff; and outstanding food. There are plenty of activities to arrange from the lodge, we did a safari to Hluhluwe and saw loads of rhinos, zebra and wildebeest. We also did a very interesting walking... More

Luxurious resort in its own game reserve. Large room where everything worked, and comfortable public rooms. It is small and so the food options are limited but no problem since what we had was very good. The receptionist was friendly and helped us on a booking of St Lucia, and the game park driver was great in converting our package... More

We stayed 4 nights over Christmas in a comfortable thatched roof chalet with yellow and ochre interior tones. The bed is comfortable and furniture is simple but functional and the bathroom area is simple too, ours only having a shower rather than bath. Our room (number 3) was one of the smaller chalets set away from False Bay. There were... More

The food here was exceptional and the (reputedly) taught on the premises cook must have an outstanding natural talent. Not only was food very tasty, great effort was also made to serve it in a sophisticated (almost Parisian) manner. Even the breakfast was served artistically and I loved the "fed up of eggs and bacon?" smoked salmon based breakfast alternative.... More

Hi Clifford and thank you for your review, Im sorry about the pool not being in great shape but we had a rather challenging time in November with some extreme winds just prior to your arrival. The windstorm coupled with the dry conditions dumped fine dust and sand into the pools not only at the main lodge but also at... More

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the honeymoon chalets which was absolutely beautiful! The chalet was clean, cool and very private. The staff were incredible and really made our stay special. We enjoyed a wonderful New Year with the owner and his family getting involved. We would definitely stay again and have recommended it to our friends... More

We had a warm welcome at the lodge with a welcome drink and our bags carried from the car. The location was beautiful and remote with such large lodges with stunning views and a free standing bath fit for a king. The staff at this place were the friendliest most helpful lovely people, and such a family vibe which we... More

Gave it 4 out of 5 by judging it just on the lodge itself. However if you look at the safari aspect I would rate it lower. The cabins are pretty comfy and have plenty of space. The main lodge has a good view of the lake and is located between greens. There is some small game, monkeys bokkies etc... More

Super friendly, lovely open fires in the evening, great food. Animals around the lodge. Amazing. Has its own character and amazing views. Sat here for a day in solitude writing. Just great. Gavin and Bridget are lovely and couldn't do more to help

We stayed at the self catering Planters Bush Camp with friends. In total we were 4 adults and 3 children and each family had their own "house". Since the bush camp is away from the main hotel, we had great privacy and enjoyed wonderful evenings around the outside fire. There is a conveniently situated kitchen in between the two separate...
