The decor is very dated (1980s gumpole chic) and really needs a facelift. Everything in the rooms is clean, but towels are small and thin, no towel rails, dim lights. Breakfast was delicious, but seasoned with the smell of the owners' second-hand smoke. I heard that it's up for sale: perhaps it's a bargain and a wonderful opportunity for a...

Well when I was needing a place to stay at a good price I had no idea I could find a "home away from home" guest house that turned out to be so much more. Das LandHause is a very unique guest house in that is has rondavels instead of you usual room in a house. Each beautifully thatched and...

I've stayed at Das Landhaus a number of times since 2009 whist working at nearby Lanseria Airport. You get to experience the true flavor of Africa when you stay in one of the amazing thatch roofed huts. Both hosts (Barbera & Albert) were amazing and make you feel like you're part of the family along with the employees. The food...

We booked Das Landhaus for a family event earlier this year. We had several people fly in and DL was very helpful to arrange an airport transfer. The arrangements for the event was relatively smooth. Accommodation is in rondavels (a circular building with a thatched roof; resembling the traditional African hut), and quite neat. Although it is marketed as self...

After reading on their website that "Das Landhaus luxury rooms are fit for kings and queens" I had set a certain expectation in my mind. The directions are ok, but the road is not signposted, so we did get lost at first. Checkin was a little bit hectic as we were a big group and it seemed that room allocation...

Very nice setting in lush gardens around a sparkling pool. But a couple of things to bear in mind when staying there: no Aircon or fans;wifi only in communal places, not in room; bedding washed out and musk smelling; towels old and faded; no shampoo or toiletries in room; TV only free to air and German stations; no kettle or...
