On a recent work trip to Pretoria I started and ended my trip staying at the Cricklewood. My office tends to like to place traveler's in lodges and guest houses for the more authentic South African feel, though honestly I generally eschew that in favor of a hotel. I'm a bit of a misanthrope, liking my anonymity on my off...

All the staff where friendly and service was fast. The coffee was average, not good. The facilities where undergoing maintenance and the grounds needed some attention. Dust is a problem. The grand piano was under a coat of dust as well as all the little trinkets around the establishment. The dinning area is situated in the kitchen. when entering the...

This establishment is advertised as a 5 star boutique hotel and I was therefor very excited for my first stay there. From the outside it has always caught my eye and it certainly looks impressive when you drive by..... Alas - I was very disappointed when I finally had the chance to stay there. When I arrived there, the front...

What advertised in booking. com is not in real life. Too long to write about all. It was really a disappointment, especially until now we had excellent experience in SAR. Just few comments about this property. No pool. The building on the pictures is another one. Staff walking constantly in front of windows, we had to keep curtains closed. Local...

Dear Darek_Wohun, Thank you for your observation. I find that when I approach life with a positive world view, I am usually pleasantly surprised and rewarded. People respond in a very kind and helpful way. A number of your group spent the day at one of our pools. You actually paid R 150.00 for your adaptor (prices vary up to...

I have booked and stayed at this establishment a couple of times for work travel. I must say that I love it. The rooms are spacious and well decorated, with a huge modern bathroom, a dining area, and a very big balcony that I've never utilised. It is in a great location, close to all of Pretoria's best restaurants and...

I was lucky enough to stay here while attending a conference at UNISA. What a lovely property and an even better experience! The staff is exemplary...so gracious and kind. Staying here is like staying at home...there is no hotel informality...the staff knows each and every guest personally. The rooms are tastefully appointed and the bed comfortable. When I return to...

At the outset, a most comfortable two night visit, this despite a few question marks. On arrival we entered a palatial home via the door marked Reception to find a desk, a hallway without lighting and a fridge. Not a good start for a five-star experience. With an element of apprehension were courteously, shown to our room on the first...

What unexpected surprise to find this absolutely exquisite old style manor that made me feel like modern royalty. It's beautifully decorated with a high end colonial feel and it has every bit of comfort and modern luxury that you could ever hope for with an unmistakable touch of class all round. The staff is warm and friendly, no effort was...

I would agree that the room was full of character, spacious and gave an absolute air of luxury, with elegant touches of class in every detail. Lovely grand piano in the living room. The food was excellent. Highest quality cuisine. Would return there in a heartbeat.

The room was full of character, spacious and gave an air of luxury. There was a grand piano in the living room which we could play (I'm a professional jazz pianist so was good to have this opportunity). The food was cooked to order and was some of the best cuisine I have had.
