What a wonderfully located and comfortable hotel in the middle of Melrose Arch. The area is safe and secure. We never felt scared or afraid for our safety. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The service is equally as good. You are greeted with a smile and hello by everyone. Seems like a small thing but it adds a...

Reception is often where one forms a first impression. On arrival we were met with less than 5* service. The receptionist seemed a little distracted by another check-in. Offered me a drink, which I accepted, which never arrived. Credit card machine was unable to process our card. Despite 4 porters standing around, nobody offered assistance with our luggage. The lighting...

Dear Sandra B I am extremely saddened to hear about the disappointing service you received during your stay and can assure you that this is certainly not the service level that we are known for. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the substandard experiences on all accounts. I have taken this up with the relevant department managers and can assure...

Good choice of restaurants in the immediate vicinity all offer excellent value for money (especially if you're and international visitor). The Library (bar on GF) has lovely relaxed ambiance. Rooms are of good size and carry the quirkiness of the rest of the decor - nice touches throughout. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, without exception.

Two night stay with Wife and Daughter. The hotel is very modern - décor is a weird eclectic collection of styles but it all works very well. Rooms are not large but perfectly adequate with desk and sitting area. The bar on the ground floor is very comfortable with a great selection of food. Service was very good throughout the...

We were on a business trip and enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. Nice rooms with wooden walls, only thing to complain: no gym.. You have to buy a voucher for the gym across the street. Good bar and excellent breakfast. Worth another stay in The future

What a wonderful stay I had at this hotel, just one week ago! I visited while on business in Johannesburg and decided to make the journey along with my husband and three children in tow. Stayed over for 3 nights whilst doing business in JHB. The hotel is perfectly located in the Melrose Arc development and has a real european feel to the whole square. The service from when you arrive was five star! Valet Parking, in room dining , amenities and the amazing M&M sweets they give each night were all just above expectations....

The African Pride Melrose Arch is a very nice hotel in a great location next to shopping and restaurants. My room had a view overlooking the pool and courtyard. The rooms are clean and modern. The breakfast menu was varied and the food was very good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We chose this property, managed by Protea Hotels, for its gated community security, which is well advised when visiting Johannesurg. The service is competent and friendly, the numerous staff keen to please. Apart from the usual niggles, it's a reasonably managed hotel. Centrally situated within Melrose Arch, the restaurant, shops and superb Virgin Active gym, are ideally placed and easy...
