This place was lovely. The rooms were so cozy and clean. The staff was great and friendly! We got to do a day tour with Jaco. Sorry if that's the wrong spelling but he was absolutely awesome! Don't hesitate to book this one. And Melville is a great spot, great food, little shops.

Ginnegaap is a very attractive and well-appointed guest house in a really good and quiet location. Very friendly and helpful staff. We walked up the street during the evening and found a nice selection of restaurants. Enclosed parking. Delicious breakfast served on the porch.

Thank you! Your comments are highly appreciated. Melville is a great place to stay when you visit Johannesburg and are known for its sidewalk cafes and the fact that it is safe to walk the streets, even at night. More

The guesthouse is located in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance. The garden is amazing and there is a really friendly cat going around and greeting the guests that want to pet him. The breakfast is very good. The first room we got was really small. We were then moved to a much nicer... More

You originally booked one of our budget rooms which are smaller than our other rooms. Just glad that we were able to upgrade you to one of our standard rooms. We have, in the meantime, fixed the bathroom door. Most of the walls in the main house are quite thick accept between the one room and corridor leading to one... More

Thank you so much for your hospitality! It was our first stop in South Africa and an excellent way to start our trip. The day tours were a perfect way to see the caves one day and a city tour the next. Highly recommend the city tour. In a day's time, we got an excellent history lesson, experienced the culture... Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Although note that if you stay on the street side room then it gets a bit noisy in the mornings. The breakfast was great - with a variety of cold food and also a menu to choose from for the hot breakfast. What we enjoyed the most was the location of... More

Thank you for your great comments! We are working on the noise problem in this particular room and plan to put double glazing in the sliding door to prevent the morning traffic from waking up guests. More

Perhaps a lady with a baby on her back is not the ideal person to welcome guests. It's not very professional, unless that is what you want to portray. The breakfast staff were excellent, however, and the breakfast was delicious.

The staff do not usually welcome guests with a baby on their back. We apologize! This was an unfortunate exception when the lady on duty had no one to look after her baby after hours for 2 days. When this was brought to my attention, we sorted it out and made alternative arrangements to help her. We are glad that... More

My husband and I stayed at Ginnegaap Guesthouse for 1 night. We arrived relatively late in the evening and were still warmly greeted by the staff. Breakfast here is delicious with hot food that can be order and fantastic coffee. The room was a great size with plenty of room for the both of us.

Great location, clean, value for money. We didn't have breakfast but was a great experience overall. If we had more time, it would have been a great place to go out at night. Lots of good restaurants in the area!

Ginnegaap is our go-to guesthouse when staying in JHB to attend concerts as it is so close to FNB stadium. The rooms are huge, modern and beautifully decorated with each one having a different theme and offer privacy and tranquility in a bustling area. Breakfasts are delicious and healthy!

Great hosts and staff which were extremely accommodating for check-ins and outs and providing service and travel tips 24/7, room #6 was roomy enough with good amenities (free wifi, good TV channels), the breakfast was my favourite part (you get to choose a different one each day, they are all delicious!!), safe and secure neighbourhood area which is quiet, great...
