The Hostel is not comfortable, the owner is rude not kind and not friendly. The atmosphere is 0, the location is 0. I asked the owner to make a phone call for me for my next hostel just to make sure that they would pick me up in the airport on time and he refused. He has a kind of agreement with... More

I had a wonderful 5 night stay at Kings Beach Backpackers. All the staff were very friendly and very accommodating! Very nice communal lounge and kitchen decorated with lots of information on what to do in the area. Molly, the dog, and Peter, the cat are always happy to have guests arrive :-)

I stayed for one night with three friends. Two of us stayed in the dorms, and two of us camped in the back. The camping area has separate outdoor toilets and showers, which is very convenient. The backpackers is clean and home-y feeling. We will stay there again!

Only stayed for one night but it was good value for money. Separate, outside showers and toilets, shower area was large and good hot shower. nice comfortable room. Helpful staff, nice communal kitchen and sitting area. Lots of activity info. You have to pay for wifi though. Good for backpacking.

Arriving at King's Beach was like coming home. The manager, David, is warm and friendly and the house is lovely. All the personal touches are there and everything is so clean and organized. The house is very well-kept and within a block of the beach street which has loads of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafe's. Also there is a fantastic... More

I only stayed 1 night here. I arrived at night and it seemed that I was the only person staying at the place. The gentleman working there was not very friendly and gave off an unsettling vibe. I did not feel very comfortable. You had to pay for wifi but breakfast consisting of toast and spreads was included. The place... More

Had a great stop off here, was in a perfect location to explore port elizabeth. The staff were welcoming, talkative and helpful. The place was clean with tea coffee and breakfast (toast) provided. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

For half of the rate for a single room compared to the B&Bs I have been staying at in PE before, its a very good deal. Of course a B&B gives another level of quality, which is expected for ensuite and double the rate, but for the money Kings Beach Backpackers is a very good deal. Was worried before I... More

I had spoken with lovely Wendy on the phone, the owner, who unfortunately had the weekend off that I arrived. Unfortunately I caught David during what I assumed was his favorite TV show - first when I was considerate enough to call and say I was running late on the road (his response very disinterested and cold), and upon arrival... I booked with lovely place not by recommendation but my a guy instinct and I was right! Very cozy, friendly place and the staff especially are always ready to assist you with travel plans. Great wrap around front porch. We stayed in a twin room, however, we had to walk to the bathroom which was outside and when it rained...not... More
