Excellent atmosphere. Tranquillity peacefully artistic whilostic. Near the beach and view points. Near shops restarlets and moreven facilities. Relaxed atmosphere. One of the oldest buildings, if not the oldest in Plettenbergbay.
Very nice and comfortable place to stay in Plettenberg Bay. Very friendly owner... nice staff. Very clean! Bit outside of the city centre... better to have a car if you are lazy because Plett has steep streets 😊still close to the beach and all the restaurants.
Rude awakening, 5am in the morning, by a light shining in the window, I was woken up by my daughter: “Mom are you shining that light” I ran through to the kitchen area, to see a dark shadow in the window. I shouted at the man, ran through to the bedroom, to get my phone, luckily my daughter followed me, the next moment the man broke down the door, that had only one lock, didn’t take much ran through to the lounge, took both my daughters backpacks and a Canon EOS 6D Camera worth R29 000, my daughter was taking pictures of the skyline the evening before we went to bed. I would just like to warn guests to take care, it is not a secure guest house. I was in fear of my own life and my daughters.
The stone cottages are very central in Plettenberg, close to some stores, restaurants and the beach. When we arrived we had a very friendly welcome by Ronel who also took the time to sit with us and talk about the range of activities the Plettenberg area has to offer. We also had the impression that the stone cottages are decorated and run with passion. Because of the kind welcome of the owner/manager, I feel a bit odd to refer to the things we did not like. However, the following points may help as constructive feedback; The rooms are rather wet and the towels do not dry within 24 hour. We did ask for new towels after two days and got them, however it may be better to just provide guests with a second set of towels upfront. Also, there is no daily cleaning. Generally that's okay for us, but we did not have the option to empty the trash bin and ended up with an ant trail in the room. Overall, when booking stone cottages, I can recommend being aware that stone cottages advertise themselves as follows: "...if creative shabby-chic is your thing, you'll love it". This pretty much describes the property. Shabby-chic as it turns out is not really our vacation style. Also, with about €90 I did find the place a little overpriced, considering.…
I slept very comfortable, and the location is great - central while still being close to the beach. It's easy to find - being next to a main road, which does make it noisy during the day. The cottages, outdoor area and garden is absolutely wonderful and makes up for the bit of noise and street parking, though!!
