Nestled in a serene setting, Thousand Trails Verde Valley is often appreciated for its clean and well-maintained environment. While the ambiance is generally seen as pleasant, some guests find the accommodations to be compact and lacking distinction. The resort's amenities, such as full hookups and outdoor activities, are popular, though additional charges for premium features like WiFi are a point of contention, leading to mixed perceptions of value. Service experiences vary, with the staff receiving both commendations for friendliness and criticism for occasional unhelpfulness.

This Thousand trails location has the nicest pool area that I've seen so far out of all the thousand trails I've booked in the western USA. The staff was very positive and made my stay more fun. God bless the Thousand Trails Staff members!

Stayed in a cottage with two teens, very tiny cottage but is okay for couples, if you want more room then choose one which is for 5-6 people if you are a party of four. Everything was clean, disappointed of services and activities which were closed but i know is due to covid. The pool is good only for 10 people and you need to be there cause is first come first gets in, there's nothing else to do like no store or any amenities. The room bed mattress topper needs an upgrade or deep cleaning, the couch mattress impossible to sleep on. The metal springs are too much for the back and body to handle. Should let guests know they cottage has everything we need in the kitchen, we didn't know till the last day of departure cause no one told us at sign in or the website, they have coffee and utensils, we had to go to cottonwood to buy everything like spoons and coffee and stuff before we ever notice, also do not count in WIFI, it was a nightmare to sign in. They do not provide free wifi but only in specific couple areas, you need to sign in via JABBA so better make and account before going. I make some requests at booking but didn't got the request filled out, i requested extra pillows and blankets and got none.

Great spot, just get kinder, more gentle and absorbent toilet paper. It is hard to enjoy the park and the river when your backside is rubbed raw and doubiously clean. Attention to this detail will really show your customers that you truly care about their comfort and well-being.

We have been considering a membership with Thousand Trails and wanted to try this park to get a sense for what it is all about. We arrived and were greeted at the gate by a very friendly and informative employee. He was happy to share his favorite sites in the park and answer our questions about WiFi. We headed off to look for a site and after looking at a couple decided on site 111. We had heard aboutt he strict enforcement of the 5 mph speed limit and were very focused on not exceeding it. So I was shocked when I got out of our vehicle to see that a very rude elderly woman had followed us to our site and was sitting there glaring at us. We beleive she was an employee but to be fair to the resort, we cannot confirm. After glaring at me for a full 30 seconds she proceeded to scream at me repeatedly about the speed limit being 5 mph. I tried to be kind at first but eventually turned around and walked off. She was horrible and it left us with an awful feeling as we set up. And we were not speeding, that I am sure of. The other disappointment is that there are a ton of permanent residents taking up the premier sites. I for sure am not spending money on an annual membership only to have the nicest sites taken by full timers. This is something they need to re-evaluate. And then finally, there are no laundry facilties. This was a bummer as we had to drive 30 minutes into town and do our laundry as we had been on the road for over a week. There was an option to buy Wifi which worked great and more RV parks should consider. My hisband and I both work from our RV so WiFi is a must. More parks should consider this option. If you choose not to purchase it and have AT&T as your carrier, you will not have a strong enough signal. So fo us, the verdict is still out on the Thousand Trails parks.

Large park with beautiful rolling hills and amazing scenery! Welcome Center staff was friendly and they allowed us to choose our own site. We ended up in section B and our pull-through FHU site was comfortable but extremely cramped on one side. The laundry facility is being renovated so it was unavailable. Good restrooms and showers. No free wifi at our site but my AT&T hotspot worked ok. Wifi for a fee is available but we did not partake. The free wifi in both lodges was good. There is no cable but we were able to get 20+ over the air TV channels. Pool and spa were clean and well maintained. 10 mph speed limit is a little slow, but we understand that safety comes first. Park is being expanded and several new back-in sites became available during our stay. We also met with on-site Thousand Trails salesperson Jed to discuss possibly upgrading our zone membership, and he was very kind. Easy 10 minute drive to Walmart and many other businesses in Cottonwood.

Other than the permanent campers who were curmudgeons, the campground was very nice. Located in the Verde Valley its close to several attractions to include the Verde Valley Railroad, Jerome, Sedona, and Cottonwood. Several nice shopping opportunities from Walmart to high end tourist boutiques. The park is well maintained and although a bit windy at times, this truly not an issue. Park is very quiet and although only allowed 30 amp sites, they proved to be just fine. Satellite reception was fine and WIFI was available for $15 a week, but could be spotty at times. Not enough band width to truly service the park. Cell phone reception is also a bit spotty so be prepared. If you want 50 amp service, you have to call the park directly to reserve a spot, we learned this issue the hard way.

The sites are gravel, dirt and a little grass. Many are close together where slide outs are within 12" of one another. The gate staff were excellent with information and helping me find a campsite. When you arrive, you are given a map of available sites, you drive around and pick one and text the gate person which site you are on.
Really nice pool, plenty of walking trails and dog friendly accommodations, i.e. Parks and trails. You can walk to the river from the middle of area C and explore that habitat. No laundry or fresh water dispensing which I think they could provide and make more money! There is a laundry mat about 4 miles away called "The Laundry Room" which is open 24/7, $2 a load and 25 cent dryers. Basic facility and convenient.

Be aware that you have to pay for Wi-Fi since the surrounding mountains dampen the signal. You have to find a site for yourself - no pre-assigned spaces. You're given a map with available sites circled. Two nice club houses, very nice people. Many residents, so available spaces are limited. Bath houses are available (unlocked doors) but no laundry facilities. The local towns have several laundromats. Good area restaurants, ask the locals for the best ones. Quiet, no road noise.

We got a phone call telling us we were speeding before we could even get to the area where wanted to camp. They have a digital speed read out at the bottom of a very small hill hard to slow to 10mph in such a short distance pulling a 30 ft 5th wheel. I think we hit 11 at the bottom. Other than that we found a great spot for out 5th wheel. Due to Covid 19 the common areas were not open, the pool area including hot tub was limited to 10 people. They closed the pool 3x's a day for cleaning the pool was open from 8-5pm but we didn't go to it this time. It would have been nice if it were open until 7-8pm may have used it then when it started to cool off. We are Thousand Trails members. This is NOT a hotel however they do have camping cabins.

average look. Terrible WiFi, and agreed to by employees. Dog park was awful. Bathrooms were locked, Access to river was terrible, and very difficult to access. seems like there are many areas that are taken care of by long term campers, and do not allow pets to walk across those common areas. Was yelled at by people telling me to not let my dog go across their yard.

Winters in southern & central Arizona are mild, compared to other parts of the country. Little to no precipitation with temps usually around 65 degrees during the day, 45 degrees at night.

Did not stay in a tent site, but if you call them direct at the ranger's office (number is on the website for that park) they can tell you.

Do the cabins have cooking utensils?

Yes, They had pretty much anything you would need for setting a table and cooking with a micro-wave and/or stove top. You might want to bring foil for the grill. It hadn’t been used in awhile and foil might be good to have. We didn’t use the stove top so not sure if the igniter worked on the stove but there was a new grill/stove lighter in the silverware drawer.
