Heard about renting "an airstream in Bisbee" years ago but didn't realize it was a vintage trailer park and that they had various trailers until we decided to book it. Hesitated for a bit but thought .... why not! Glad we did. It was well maintained, fun and very nostalgic. Justin the owner was very receptive to our couple of phone calls and had us fixed in no time. Would recommend this place unless you are looking for more comfort and amenities.

Our recent 2 night stay at the Shady Dell was a trip back in time. Our camper, "The Hollywood" was right out of the 1950s, with photos of James Dean, Lucy and Desi, Marilyn Monroe and others on the walls. The camper was roomy with a sitting area, a kitchen complete with percolator, a small bathroom with toilet, sink and towels and a cozy bedroom, all with 50s kitsch furnishings.. We even had a tiny patio to sit out and enjoy an evening beverage on. The ambience was great and I just smiled everytime I walked around the park. The women's bathroom was clean and had a nice hot shower with amenities. The only disappointment was that we couldn't play the 45s and LPs in the camper because the record player was missing the cartridge. Also an old TV looked like it may have been hooked up for old movies, which were found in a cabinet, but we were not able to get the DVD player to work. Still, a very fun place to stay. Would definitely like to return when Dot's Diner is opened (weekends only.)

OK, five stars for those of you who love alternatives to chain hotels. Shady Dell might not work for the rest. A few notes: Each trailer is different in size and interior, so check out the photos on the web site. We rented the Spartan Tandem and the Spartan Mansion. Both have lovely wood interiors with nicely chosen 1950s decorations, such as a B&W TV (no channels though) and vintage records. The beds were comfortable. However, we stayed in November and the plug-in heater in the Tandem wouldn't stay upright, so we didn't use it and the trailer got pretty cold. Same kind of issue with our daughter's Mansion. Also, the Tandem had a toilet in the shower by design, and we decided not to use the shower so as not to get everything wet. There are communal showers in the park. The people who seemed to be running the place were nice and friendly, but it's hit and miss whether they are around. There are green carts near the office to haul your suitcases. Make sure to go across the highway to what is left of Lowell. 1950s mostly abandoned town with vintage cars and buses parked on the street. Also has the Bisbee Breakfast Club, which serves terrific breakfasts, with giant portions. (The diner in the trailer park is only open on weekends). We had a great time at Shady Dell and would definitely stay again.

Unique little vintage park. Stayed in one of the smaller trailers, the 1955 Kenskill. AC worked good, bed was comfy. Park was quiet and everything seemed to be in good repair. Full showers available in the park. Nice people. Super cute diner on-site, open for breakfast and lunch with outdoor seating only. Yummy breakfast!

We had a blast in our little private yacht. Charming, comfortable, fun. Needs maintenance though. sliding doors almost inoperable. Many of the lights did not work. Wish the restaurant was open while we were there.

I really want to give this place a good review because of how special/unique it is....that being said this park is really cool, however we never met who was running it. They post the check-ins on the office door and leave the keys in the trailers and when you check out you leave the trailer unlocked with the key inside. The trashcans in your trailer are super small, maybe one big one outside each trailer would be better?? They also don’t have Kleenex, only enough toilet paper for your stay. Our trailer floor seemed pretty dirty and one of the doors on our friend’s trailer didn’t lock. Also, the pictures online don’t show enough. Meaning some don’t do this place justice (the trailers are much prettier in person). While others need to show more detail, like pictures of the bathrooms. If I had known how small our bathroom was I would have reserved another trailer—my husband is 6 foot and was too tall for the shower in our trailer so he had to go to the community showers. I mean I would have picked a cooler themed trailer had I known we would have been going to the community bathrooms anyway.

I'll keep this as short as possible. The Shady Dell advertises that this is an adults only getaway. Yet when we arrived, there were many young children running around, screaming and going in and out of trailers. They were not eating at the restaurant but invited by the owners themselves. Come to find out that kids are allowed at the restaurant or whenever the owner's feel like disrupting the comfort of their guests. We saw other reviews on Facebook about people having an issue with their false advertising and one of the owners (Claire) double downed on everything and was completely unapologetic. It's false advertising plain and simple. Don't advertise that you're an adults only destination and yet flagrantly disregard your own rules. A shame too because I've been coming to the Shady Dell for over ten years but according to the owner, people like us are no longer welcome. So if you're into false advertising then this is the place for you. If you are expecting a nice, quiet, adults only getaway, you will not get that here. I'm also not a monster for wanting and expecting an adults only environment, especially when it is ADVERTISED AS SUCH. And I'm not even getting into the other parts of the trip that were awful. Like how nobody ever answers the phone at the front desk or the servers at Dot's diner being rude. This place has really gone downhill and I will never stay here again.

Our party of 7 couples descended on the Dell for two days and loved it! On Friday night we held a progressive happy hour so everyone could tour all seven of the trailers/boat/bus that were our vintage accommodations for the weekend. Sitting around the fire pit, relaxing with all our best friends, felt like a return to a different era. Everyone wants to return, and everyone wants the Chris Craft next time! Breakfast at Dot's Diner was great too. Thanks, for being the perfect location to celebrate our first get together post-Covid. I have a feeling that more friends will be joining us next time!

We went with the 47 Chris Craft and I would have a hard time choosing over it unless I could just try them all. Can't wait to go back!! Don't miss Dot's Diner Saturday and Sunday breakfast!! Convenient to historic Old Bisbee.

I stayed a few days so I could see the surrounding towns. The RV park fits in well with Lowell across the street and Bisbee down the road. The park could definitely use a little more sprucing up. The trailers are pretty much there for sleeping. I didn’t try the on-site diner (Dot’s) as it closes at 3pm and was only open on the weekend. This would definitely be a fun place to stay with friends or family (have to be over 15) for a night. For me, I liked the idea that personal contact was minimal/non-existent in my case (think COVID). Bonus: there’s a cemetery next door!
