Feel like you're a world away. And like you're at home. Yakutat is remote, but that doesn't mean your accommodations need to be rustic. Whether you're looking for an all-inclusive stay or a great space to gather and cook, we've got you covered. You'll find the things that people who fish can appreciate - dry off rooms, space for gear, vacuum packers and easy boat rentals. Our amenities are designed for Alaska nights and early mornings - blackout shades, extra blankets, coffee makers that can serve a crowd. And when the day is done, relax in large spaces that friends want to gather - whether around the fire, or around the BBQ overlooking the bay. Rest easy. Everything you expect from a top of the line Alaskan lodge. Suites and cabin with private balconies and bbq's overlooking Monti Bay. Cedar lined interiors, hardwood floors, granite and tile finishes, fully appointed kitchen, deluxe memory foam gel mattresses, luxury bedding and blackout shades designed for a great night's rest. Take advantage of our complimentary fish prep room with vacuum packer, walk in freezer. You'll be all set to ship home your catch. "Leave on the early morning flight from Seattle, and I can have you on the water by noon. We are remote, yet accessible, in one of the most spectacular settings in the world." - Curt Heikell, Owner The secret? A World War II airstrip that drops you right on the incredible Yakutat Bay, just minutes from the Monti Bay Lodge and Resort. Opening to the Gulf of Alaska with a line of rocky reef stretching across the its mouth, the Yakutat Bay is home to a large and diverse population of sea life and a warm Kuroshio current. The waters are rich in nutrients, feeding sea creatures and fish like herring, rockfish, lingcod, halibut and salmon. Turn inland and you'll find the famous Situk River, known world-wide for steelhead, king, sockeye, pink, and silver salmon runs. When's your week?

Detailed Reviews
Monti Bay Lodge provided our group with comfortable living quarters for our week stay at Yakutat. the cook was talented and repectful, an amazing lady who accommodated our needs readily. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean and convenient. Laundry facitilites at the site were also helpful. We had great views of the bay and were close to town. Wifi and internet worked well, and even my verizon service with my iPhone worked fine, even though I was told only At & T would be the only carrier available.

Thank you Moni Bay Lodge for a fantastic fishing trip . Three of us spent a week fishing salmon and halibut . The weather was all over the map with rain and wind and sun . The accommodations were great comfortable and clean . We had plenty of hot water with showering and doing laundry at the same time . The fish processing facilities were great with a large commercial vacuum machine and large walk-in freezer . I can’t wait until next year to get back up there again . Thank you again !

Monti Bay Lodge has a great location and fantastic amenities for a fishing lodge. Take the van to go fish the incredible rivers or have access to one of the boats and go out in the bay. Between salmon, halibut, sea bass and ling cod, you will always come home with plenty of fish

The accommodations at the lodge was great. Nice kitchen, rooms, and bathroom. Everything else was mediocre. We asked for a drift boat which we did receive but it had a broken oar stay, no third oar, no life vests and the boat said it was a 4 person boat when it barely held two people. The owner doesn’t even come up to town during fishing season and communication is subpar. We had no info on where things were in the town or what times to be places. Nice cabin and view but that’s about it.

Perfect spot for a quick business trip. Everything we needed to cook our own meals. TV, internet and nice comfortable beds. We had our own designated parking spot and a view of Sandy beach. We also had access to the walk in freezer and areas to clean and package our fish for the trip home. This wasn't our first stay and it wont be our last.

I have been coming to yakutat for the past twenty years and wish I would have found Monti Bay Lodge way back then. This was my first year at Monti Bay Lodge and I will continue coming back. Not only are the accommodations spectacular the vehicles are in tip top shape. Kurt, the owner, keeps all the appliances in perfect working order and if by slim chance something breaks down he is prepared to make sure you as the guest are not inconvenienced at all. He has a back up plan for everything.

Seven guys from 3 different states enjoy Yakutat from the comfort of the Monti Bay Silver unit. Yakutat is a sportsman's dream, with rivers and ocean fishing. Well appointed with fish cleaning room, walk in freezer, washer/dryer, well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. We really enjoy our stay each year and the staff are great at working with us. Thanks for the great digs!!

Fantastic views, plenty of space for 10, full kitchen, large covered porch with bbq, internet, lots of seating. We had a great time. Saw moose on the road, deer in the yard, eagles, hung out at the beach, did some fishing, visited, cooked, watched TV and enjoyed enjoyed the view. Easy to book and pay via email.

Beautiful lodge/cabin, plenty of space for our science team of five. Wonderful to have a van to use during our stay. Everything worked wonderfully. Would love to stay here again. Also, I can recommend the food from Adriana Preciado at Yakutat Catering! Great value and deliciousness!
