The large family room we stayed in upstairs was very nice, it has a cathedral ceiling, a couch and a chair, small frig, a king size bed and up a few stairs were 3 more twin beds, huge bathroom. Nice windows, but the upper ones did not have blackout curtains, so bring eye cover if you are light sensitive when... More

Beautiful and clean accommodations with all the amenities you could hope to get in a somewhat isolated location. Personal assistance from friendly owners/managers. We wish we could have stayed longer - next time!

We were on a fishing trip --8th one for the group--and have stayed in the same place in Canada for the previous 7 years...Now in Alaska, The SOURDOUG LODGE was a 5 star resort compareded to the B&B we previously stayed in...The rooms were clean; the sheets and blankets warm and the towels were thick and absorbent...The breakfasts were great--pancakes,... LIke others who have reviewed this lodge we found it spartan yet immaculate. While it was advertised as a mile or so from town, that part it true. But it does not have a pretty view of the harbor. The lodge is in a mixed industrial and residential area. The deck area is gorgeous with flowers and plants and lots... More

We had a really, really pleasant time here on our visit to Wrangell. We were two families with four young children, and Bruce and his wife were warm and welcoming. The gardens alone at the Lodge deserve a special award, they are spectacular! We got the dinner each night and it was delicious. We happened to get a really nice... More

We have stayed several times at this lodge and definitely would go back. For Alaska, these accommodations are very adequate. The food is like home style cooking with big portion sizes and very good food. We mostly enjoy the hospitality of the owners. You won't find better people in Alaska.

My room was pretty spartan, two twin beds and an average sized bathroom. The front deck is great for sitting amongst a nice garden, that overlooks the front parking lot. The lodge walls are full of interesting artwork and photographs. Overall, it is a pretty simple place -- however nothing "wrong" with it. Dining is cafeteria style in one room... More

Stayed there for an night after spending 3 nights at the cabin in Anan bay.Picked it because of price and the availability of dinner The hotel itself was serviceable but utilitarian. With the exception of the extensive garden outside there was not much charm. Not much of a view of the harbor either. My room was the strangest I had ever been... More

Darlene and I would like to say thank you for giving us the opportunity to provide you with accommodations in our lodge. It is truly unfortunate that you did not share your concerns about your stay with us until after you departed. We would have loved to have had the opportunity to address those concerns while you were here and... More

Hard to walk to town from here. Meals at the hotel were good. Transportation provided from airport and to ferry. This wouldn't be my first choice if I return to Wrangell. We enjoyed the place but felt there may be better alternatives for the price.

This was my third trip to this establishment this year due to business. Once again, I can't find a bad thing to say regarding my stay! Bruce and Darlene have a property in which memories are made. Their hospitality is world class, room was quiet, and immaculate. If you decide to stay for a dinner, the meals are what you... More
