This is a very nice hotel with a direct access to the beach, which is approx. several hundred meters long. There's a "house reef" on the beach where you can snorkel all day long or dive with a local diving center which is located in the hotel as well. I snorkeled and dived there, saw a turtle and a family of 15 dolphins. Staff is very nice and polite. There are mostly Italian and Czech tourists in this hotel, therefore restaurant serves a lot of Italian food which is pretty good. In general, quality of the food in this hotel was very good, especially sweets (greetings to the chief on the photo). We once took a massage in the local SPA which was OK as well, massage was very strong, price was good as well. Rooms in the hotel are a little bit old but they were cleaned everyday so one can't complain about cleanliness of the hotel, especially the main lobby which is very well decorated. I really enjoyed my holidays in this hotel, I'd especially recommend it to the divers or people who like to snorkel.

We stayed here during the week of August....a slightly dated structure but with all the comforts possible and imaginable...clean rooms equipped with all comforts...noisy but present and feasible air conditioning...Baobab assistance always present and available to guide you and advise you on the various unmissable excursions to do (Luxor, Mega Safari, Berenice Islands...) Naby number one 😁 always available and available for any "snag"... staff of any airline always smiling and attentive to your needs.... direct access to spectacular, sublime sea (priceless Corralina reef).....the restaurant and its staff always ready to satisfy your every request...always abundant breakfast, lunches and dinners buffet style and on request also freshly prepared dishes with a chef to satisfy your needs requests….animation is there but not intrusive (thanks in particular to Alessandra and Davide for their smiles and their many, many laughs)…..what to add? Nothing... absolutely to repeat and... Thank you Shoni Bay for this emotion you made us feel ❤️

We stayed at the Shony Bay in the week from 04/21/24 to 04/28/24 Old structure and in need of renovation, wonderful location on the sandy beach and direct access to the sea. Beautiful beach and very well kept and clean. Thanks to the entertainment guys from Martina, Iacopo, Manuel and Pietro who are always cheerful and very nice.
Satisfactory cleaning services, appreciable and appropriate food for the place, we take into account that we are in Egypt and not in Italy, waiters and chefs always ready to satisfy the needs of us customers.
Thanks to Marco from Baobab who is always available, very kind and friendly. Beautiful and very well organized excursions.
I would happily stay here again.

I've been going to Shoni for 10 years, the last one was last year in May. I've always gone there for the very beautiful beach, the barrier and the service. This year it's a disaster and I'll start with the rooms; non-existent cleanliness, they make the bed and clean the bathroom fixtures: they never clean the floors. Breakfast not bad but they use powdered milk which is disgusting. Restaurant Bel zoni (beach) the mini buffet is reduced to 4 carrots, tomatoes, green salad. .after having complained at the reception they put 2 mixed salads and a bit of cheese and olives. Main buffet which I only go to in the evening: lots of vegetables, inedible beef, roast chicken freshly cut by the chef... too bad that you give me a 3cm thigh and if you ask for more you will snort. There are spaghetti but I don't eat pasta abroad
Egyptian evening by the pool, beautiful location.. I recommend going at 7pm for dinner because if you go at 8pm some dishes run out and are not replaced. The Italian clientele is the largest and many are regulars who stay for up to a month. They are all unhappy: the Egyptian property has also cut costs in the disinfestation of mosquitoes and sandflies (once a week) instead of every day. I read the 5 star reviews (it was at the time of Turchese and Tui with Laura, Marcella and Paolo at the management ) but now except the location of this place, 2 stars are deserved

Hello everyone, mine is a review made with criteria, since I am a technician of hotel tourism activities
in Italy and abroad, I want to respond to the nonsense that is often (indeed always) written, we start with the assumption that I go to the schiony since 2010 as many people, indeed thousands of people who went to this structure in past years, beautiful structure, with every comfort and at honest prices, but years ago, today it is a decadent and old structure, all let go, air conditioning not working, changed in a week 4 rooms (not only me) but many guests, I save on everything, not even a paid ice cream like in past years when there was Laura short Italian director, do not even turn on air conditioning at the reception, a suffocating heat, rooms with mold and dirt in the showers, cleaning less than the minimum terms, x not to mention how you find the amphitheater always full of shows and today garbage deposit and rubble as the view rooms overlooking the street side, doors ramshackle rooms, insects in the rooms dirty curtains ripped and broken, refrigerator in the room destroyed and dirty, 80s TV in many rooms, channels sometimes take signal italianoa.x pure luck, air conditioning with engines that burst and are replaced with other old ones several times a day in many rooms, upholstery rooms, mattresses etc. that and better not to look, cooking absolutely not to be advised not only because the reshuffle and the repetitive stuff with stomach pain and the agenda, but the cleanliness is hallucinating, food left at the mercy of all with people who sneeze over, the kitchen staff who are in the room with latex gloves do everything, cook, open doors, touch food sometimes even with their hands without changing them with bacteria that go everywhere. The only thing that is saved, indeed ... The sea, yes also because despite its beauty today without pier in the afternoon you can not swim from 14 onwards the water of the lagoon becomes boiling not only
you do not reach the barrier but. you can not stay in Aqua all afternoon , the dead fish on the shore make you understand the level of heat that there is , umbrellas and beach towels we draw a pitiful veil, even the pool filled with chlorine xchè is not cleaned properly after only 10 minutes of bathing you burn your hands. Gentlemen, many other things that are wrong but leave it alone, mine is just an answer to the people who give high marks to the structure , be consistent and honest towards the people who have to book and spend their money, the structure is advisable only because the price is practically torn , given in practice xchè is no longer Italian structure but frequents only by people from Eastern Europe , ask yourself a question and give the answer, and do not fool people who want to rest after a year of work .

We are experienced holidaymakers in Egypt and always book hotels in a similar price segment. Unfortunately, we were completely fooled this time.

First of all, the room:
These were clean and in order. Unfortunately, the mattresses were not our cup of tea, but that is our subjective opinion.

Food and drinks:
Unfortunately, both were sub-par.
Almost every second drink had to be returned because it was even more inedible than the other drinks. Either it just tasted of chlorine, or there were still lots of detergent residues in it. Simply disgusting. As an alternative, we were offered mini disposable plastic cups :/
The food was unfortunately sub-par.
From experience, there are great vegetarian dishes/salads/dips in Egypt.
Unfortunately, not in this hotel. We lived on soup with rice and raw carrots for 2 weeks.

Service:
A few guys really did a good job. But many seemed very lazy. We often had to set our table ourselves while eating. We regularly placed our order at the bar because otherwise we would have to wait for the waiter today.
The supposed restaurant manager also behaved very unprofessionally and annoyingly in our eyes.
Every meal was advertised as "yummy, delicious". He also regularly tried to fit his 8 German words into one sentence.

Diving center:
This is right next to the hotel and is the only reason why I didn't leave early. It is absolutely brilliant.

Anyone who has tried the old management will be very disappointed with the new one, they are cutting back on everything, frozen or reheated food from midday to evening. I know that in Egypt you can't expect to eat like in Italy but not even like that. Towels both on the beach and in the room threadbare or torn, chipped plates and glasses one different from the other and when there were no glass ones, washable plastic ones arrived. Drinks from the dispenser are undrinkable. Air conditioning in the common areas non-existent, in the rooms it broke down 4 times. Rooms never renovated or renovated, broken tiles and doors with raw wood because planed causes the wood to swell. Service staff as always splendid except for one waiter who was a nuisance all evening for the tip. Beautiful sea as always this year too, on more than one occasion there have been dolphins but it's no longer enough. If it is rated 4 stars perhaps it is better to downgrade it, it was before Covid, now giving it 3 is too much

It's almost home now, we always come back willingly, things are improving and I hope next time I can give 5 bullets. This time we stayed in the mountain rooms, there is no sea view but they are definitely more comfortable to services and newer, I do not know if due to the guy who took care of the cleaning or the complaints received from many guests, our room has always been spotless, regular towels and sheets changes, choice of pillows, working air conditioning and spacious bathroom. The food , perhaps not too varied but all in all good, the staff despite the changes and 'always friendly and helpful.
The beach service decidedly improved, beach towels not brand new but always soft and clean, to relieve the heat in the afternoon the boy in charge of towels passed through the beach with fresh towels, the beach in order and clean. A flaw , this time, the animation, unfortunately the boys had little enthusiasm and little initiative, guests who have improvised dance instructors and fitness instructors ... maybe so a bit 'too much, the only one who is saved is Philip who still cares about his staff, the problem is that they are not prepared. Assistance is followed by Marco and Saida who do their best despite the arrivals and departures there every day. Thanks again for everything and see you ☺️

Beautiful structure even if in some cases it lacks maintenance. Convenient sea entrance, unique seabed for snorkeling and scuba diving. The cuisine can improve, the service both in the rooms and in the restaurant is excellent. A bottle of water is offered every day and there are fresh water dispensers throughout the facility. Fantastic entertainment, very polite guys, available and always present for any need.

Do we want to call it a resort? the road to reach this hotel which I would define as 3 stars no further
it's all dirt...never finished...
What do I save? few things
1) direct access to the sea
2) friendliness of animation and staff
decent rooms no further
for the rest Run away!!!
I would like to point out that the management has no longer been Italian for a few years
Never stayed in a place like this...!
Very high average age. Our compatriots over 75 come here to spend the winter and receive a very convenient price for staying here for 3 months.
Terrible and repetitive food chicken rice non-existent fish except 1 fish unknown to me...the baked beef is tough...Fruit in Egypt should be abundant but here it is reduced to melon and oranges sometimes if you're lucky watermelon! ...the drink being a soft drink is given by the glass by the waiters!!! if you also want alcoholic drinks including beer you have to add 80 euros more.

The owner, now Egyptian... it is reported by the kitchen staff himself, rolls his eyes when the terrible food is mentioned, he certainly isn't broad-minded entrepreneurial.... in our country he would be called stingy! the resort next door is gorgeous and costs less..
Will you ask me why I ended up there? because I chose the wrong tour operator...which will also have a very negative review
Follow my advice in Marsa Alam there are splendid structures this is the worst I have seen in the Red Sea. Obscene is an understatement.

Buonasera, devo dire che i materassi sono molto comodi mentre i cuscini non sono dei più sottili (in Egitto purtroppo tendono ad essere abbastanza "corposi). Cordiali saluti
