The MG Alexander the Great Hotel emerges as a luxurious retreat, beloved for its extensive amenities that include opulent pools and spas, as well as rooms boasting sea views, despite some remarks about dated features. The staff's friendly and professional demeanor contributes to the hotel's clean and welcoming environment. While the atmosphere is generally considered comfortable with a modern flair, evening entertainment can sometimes disrupt the tranquility. Although the rooms are celebrated for their space and modern touches, issues with upkeep and noise have been flagged. However, the hotel's value proposition faces criticism due to service lapses and concerns over food quality.

Good evening, I stayed in Marsa Alam at Mg Alexander the Great. I would say an excellent location when it comes to excursions and the distance from the airport is about 40 minutes. The structure offers three swimming pools, a swimming pool with slides for the little ones with the presence of a lifeguard. One main restaurant, a small snack for mid-morning and afternoon snack. Presence of 4 bars, an Italian restaurant and an a la carte grill restaurant. Food at the international restaurant, varied cuisine throughout. Beach equipped with windproof showers, bar. Access to the barrier is via a pier, I would say it is a very beautiful barrier. The large rooms have two half-litre bottles of water and one one-and-a-half liter bottles of water, bathrobe, teeth cleaning kit and body cleaning kit. The rooms have a terrace or balcony, very clean. With small renovations to do (doors), equipped with a safe. Part of the rooms is undergoing renovation. Diving present. I would like to point out that the reservation includes a dinner at the two a la carte restaurants, furthermore upon your arrival, in addition to the fact that you are accompanied to your room, there is a complete explanation of the various opening hours of the restaurants and bars and you will be shown where they are located. . Very helpful staff

Two weeks in this structure, positive experience in various respects: very nice barrier accessible from the pier, full of fish, including the turtle and passage of dolphins, possibility to enter the water even from the beach, without shoes, for a swim, fun and engaging entertainment, friendly and caring staff (especially Shehab in the restaurant, Alaa on the beach, Nana of the beauty salon, and all the gardeners that no one ever mentions but we saw working at all hours, both under the scorching sun and at night, and they never failed to greet us with a smile), the referent Luciana who was present, nice and efficient in helping us. The rooms are dated but spacious, water brought every day (2 bottles or one liter and a half), we were in block 4000 with terrace overlooking the canal that goes from the lagoon to the beach. Nice pool, although you should understand if the rules (like diving ban) apply to all just for a few, lifeguards ready to stop (rightly) immediately some guests who were transgressing but turning away "not seeing" for others ... Unpleasant experience even with the reception, three days asking for the voucher for wifi, with employees bouncing with each other, "come back later, come back tomorrow" etc and finally with Luciana's intervention finally in a moment these vouchers came out, leaving out the fact that we were always told to wait on the sofas even before we knew what we needed, passing other local guests arrived at the reception desk after us.
It would also be appropriate to make sure that some guests respected the basic rules of a buffet, such as respecting the queues, unfortunately there are those who ignore the respect for others and for the place where it is, slipping between people without waiting and filling the 'unbelievable plates and then leave almost everything there forcing to throw away large quantities of food. Not to mention the group that took away our towels (held still at the bed with 4 springs) while we were in the water, once "discovered" they were justified by saying that they did not know it could not be done, without apologizing but rather laughing in our face every time we crossed them ..
Recommendation: review the hours of the bars on the beach, anticipate and postpone at least the possibility of using the dispensers, and the snack bar closes too early at 16 (snacks should also be done a little later), then since some sports activities of 'animation are done next door, you can not even drink water; also use many very light plastic cups that fly away with the wind and you even find them in the water.
However a 'pleasant experience, which allowed us to meet many wonderful people and we will definitely consider returning.

I stayed from 3 to 10 March 2024 in this village with my family.
We had a standard room and as soon as we arrived Khaled, the Italian-speaking representative at the reception, offered us a room with a sea and lagoon view at no extra charge, also during this stay my dad's birthday was celebrated and he sent us a cake in the room to celebrate and a reservation at the Italian restaurant, always without asking for any financial supplement. THANK YOU KHALED...Very kind person and always available!
Overall the village is well organised, the beach is very beautiful and there is a pier to access the barrier but you can also swim by directly accessing the sea.
The swimming pool is very large.
In the village there is international entertainment that is active from morning to evening, they are very nice. There is also a small disco.
The food is a bit repetitive but you always manage to find something to eat.
Overall we had a nice holiday, we felt pampered and we would definitely go back!

They make a bad chicken every day overcooked and so dry !!!!
The dinner was not better limited variety and quality should be improved
Animation team were nice guys with different shows every day really nice night life
Bars found everywhere with all beverages
In 3 days we left the hotel without any smile from the unprofessional employers

The trip was very successful, the hotel staff deserve great applause, always nice, smiling, willing to help, specific but very tasty dishes. The rooms are cleaned every day and all items are stocked on a regular basis. Great pool, nice beach. You can buy various tours at a good price. I recommend !!!!

The stay at this property during Easter week was overall satisfactory, however there are some aspects that we believe could be improved. The room is spacious and the cleaning staff did a good job, but the bathroom turns out to be a weak point, without a window and damp, with an old tub and a dirty-looking curtain.

The beach and the sea met our expectations: the beach is clean and comfortable, with a bar that provides drinks from the dispenser and local alcohol. We particularly appreciated the relaxation area bordered by stones, where they don't come to disturb you to sell you excursions. If you want to have a chat and buy a souvenir to take home we recommend you stop by and visit George who speaks Italian very well and is very friendly and helpful.

The coral reef, although not comparable to that of Berenice, is still noteworthy, and there is also a bay with blue water ideal for swimming.

The hotel staff is courteous and attentive to guests' needs, and the two swimming pools, one of which is heated, are a further plus.

However, we encountered difficulties in making restaurant reservations, especially in the Italian restaurant, where we felt neglected by the manager. This created a sense of not belonging in us (because we were Italian), especially considering that everyone mainly speaks English.

The animation was sufficient, but not great. The property's main issue is with the food: while the flavor was okay for us, the variety leaves something to be desired, with a menu limited to chicken, beef, cod, overcooked pasta, soups and some vegetables. Additionally, the lack of transparency regarding allergens has been an issue for us. However, we want to underline the goodness of the bread made by a lady external to the structure. Ultimately, we are not sure if we will return to this property.

The MG Alexander the Great Marsa Alam hotel is a dated and neglected property that proves its years, both in the rooms and in the common areas. Beyond the structural parts even what is mobile is old, neglected, sometimes dirty. Beach towels with holes, frayed and damaged beach beds, dirty tables, chairs with different feet that swing, armchairs and sofas stained even in an important way, bed quilts too small for the bed itself. The kitchen deserves no more than a 5, with chicken rice bread and potatoes for a week you manage to survive but the rest is either greasy, or hard, or overcooked, or too messy.
That said, some aspects are saved and make the holiday all in all appreciable.
Luciana the Italian-speaking guest relation, always around, always on the piece and available if needed.
Ahmed the lifeguard of the navy, the structure 300 meters from the beach that allows you to go down on the barrier, also always attentive, present and available to lend a hand to those like me doing this experience for the first time.
Kareem of the “beduin tent”, a very young boy full of desire to do, polite, serious, and with a thousand attentions for his customers. Plus, prepare delicious teas and herbal teas.
Lara, the SPA girl who deals with promotion on the beach, always smiling despite the heat and I imagine maybe fatigue. Massages that among other things Recommendation to everyone, carried out by women on women and by men on men, I say this for those like my husband who did not expect it.
Mahmoud of Helmy Tours taxi service, also available very kind and not polemical in case of changes or special needs.
Last but not least, Said, housekeeper of block 8, who despite our room was full of defects, made us always find it perfectly clean and tidy.
The sea can only be bathed in the area delimited by buoys, both before the barrier where the water rarely exceeds one meter and in front of the barrier, so if you go to swim and enjoy the sea the desire does not take it away.

I'm in this hotel right now, I came here for 2 weeks, it's a wonderful holiday in the middle of winter. When it's cold and snowing in Poland, it's beautiful & warm here. The weather is great, every day it is about 25-26 degrees in the shade, and at night the temperature does not drop below 18 degrees. The hotel is wonderful, thanks to the magnificent infrastructure, staff, animators, and wonderful managers who take care of every corner of the hotel. We have a swimming pool in the hotel, which is very large, bridges cross it, it makes a great impression. The hotel beach is wonderful, fine sand feels like in Florida, and the cleaned bottom of the sea, on which you will not find stones, makes it one of the best beaches, I have seen in Egypt. On the beach and pool, you will find bars with drinks, and a snack bar, where the service is phenomenal. Drinks and alcoholic drinks have a great taste and are served immediately. From the beach to the coral reef there is a very nice pier, new and very clean. The reef by the hotel beach is magnificent. The coral reef at the hotel is wonderful, you will find a lot of colorful fish next to it. By the beach and the pool, there are animations, created by a great team of animators, full of energy & happines. Also the animations are in the evenings, full of emotions and great entertainment. You will definitely not be bored in this hotel. The hotel rooms are clean, well-maintained, I have the pleasure of having a wonderful view of the sea from the balcony. The rooms are cleaned every day, and they smell fresh. The hotel has alacarte restaurants, with great food and atmosphere. The hotel has one main restaurant, where every day the food is very fresh, delicious and varied, even fussy eaters will find something for themselves. The dishes prepared on the grill are the most impressive, they are delicious, full of spices and aroma, one of the best I have ever eaten. I especially recommend Tuna and Kofta. My overall impressions are excellent, I have literally nothing to complain about. This is one of my best holidays in the middle of winter. I would like to thank all the hotel staff, managers and animators for making my holiday special!!!

Special thanks to Mr. Adam Abdullah for his great care, hospitality and professionalism, which makes this hotel wonderful, and stands out very positively from other hotels in area.
Warm thanks to Klaudia, Maja, Stephanie for their daily positive energy, a wonderful smile every morning, and help in making the best holidays ever.
A big thanks also to marvellous Sara and Mohamed from reception, for a great approach to guests, and help in every possible matter.

Wonderful beach, but not at all relaxing because of the sellers who do not understand "no" as an answer, and constantly try to deceive you. As well as, the team of animators, who are not at all respectful, shout in your ear forcing you to participate in repetitive childish activities with very ambiguous music, which makes them very boring; they even become rude if you do not participate. They are really annoying. Which makes it very difficult for us to have a pleasant and relaxing time. On the other hand, the food has been a disaster; every day we eat the same thing, many times cold and sometimes raw. In addition, some offer a small portion of food to tourists and big portion to locals, who clearly receive special treatment. As for the room, it was clean; the only uncomfortable thing was that the person who cleaned it was always waiting for us at the door to get some money. However, some workers were very helpful, especially those at reception and those who keep the beach and pool clean and safe. On the other hand, others, like the waiters, flirt too much.

Starting from the whole I give it 9/10. Really good food and a wide selection of dishes, the base is chicken, so you can count on meat. When it comes to service, everything was great, very nice and helpful. When it comes to drinks, everything is available, from water to alcohol, but strictly all-inclusive alcohol is average, beer is the best compared to alcohol. The room is also nice, as in the photos, the air conditioning works, the water is lukewarm or hot, no cold water. The beach and sea are beautiful, the animators are great fun and gather people together.
I recommend!
