The Blue Reef hotel garners high marks for its cleanliness, with guests repeatedly praising its immaculate rooms and grounds. Travelers enjoy the spacious rooms and find the food offers good value, though some are put off by the extra charge for wifi. While the accommodations are noted to be somewhat dated, this is offset by the hotel's range of amenities, including a stunning beach and engaging animation programs. The vibrant atmosphere is a highlight for many, although a few find the music intrusive and the dining areas congested. Above all, the friendly and professional staff receive accolades for enhancing the guest experience.

Fantastic place. The staff is very nice and helpful - we had a little problem with our shower and it was fixed within an hour. We had our rooms cleaned every day, and every time we found a little masterpiece made with towels :) Everyone is smiling and greeting you as you pass them. The pool is big and clean, and you can enjoy aquagym or water polo organised by the best animators from Alpiclub. They also organise shows every night and a lot of activities during the day. There's not the biggest choice of food (for me it was enough), but it's all fresh and very tasty. The reef is beautiful and we enjoyed snorkeling, especially in the morning, when we were mostly by ourselves, just with a fantastic lifeguard, who usually opened the pier just for us. We had a lot of fun and relax, which is exactly what we counted on.

One of the best vacations. The animation team and staff here will make your vacation worth the money. It’s older hotel but they are doing a lot of work to make it better. Rooms are big enough - one bad thing is that you have to pay for wifi. I really recommend going to the shows at the hotel theatre - you will definitely enjoy it thanks to great animation team. Also the food here is really good for 4* hotel and if you like pasta you will enjoy it here too. Beach is clean, water is really shallow but you can enter deeper waters from the jetty.

I stayed a week at this Resort which undoubtedly has some nice things and things that can be improved. The strengths are: the proximity to the airport of marsa alam (about 30 minutes), the compactness of the Resort that allows you, regardless of the room assigned, the proximity to all tactical points (beach restaurant etc.) and the versatile sea point for swimmers and non-swimmers. The beach is small but well stocked with umbrellas, and the staff is always present and helpful. From the shoreline you enter directly into a small artificially created “pool” of sea water, about a meter high, where you can relax and refresh from the heat. The pier, decidedly long, allows access to a beautiful coral reef. There are swimming pools and there are two bars and a kiosk that makes very good fruit smoothies (for a fee). The points that can be improved are: the kitchen, which was not evil but a bit too repetitive. And the fact that the water was provided by the dipencers, while in the room it was provided in the bottle. I was sick only after drinking that water, and then I drank only from the bottles. But I also have to say that a lot of people drank from dispensers and I didn't think they had any problems so I don't know if it was a coincidence or not. The rooms were like many Resorts decidedly dated but the beds were comfortable and a good cleaning was always done by the attendants. I want to emphasize that all the workers were always very nice and nice and that therefore tips (which they never requested) were always made willingly. The animation was there and the guys were very nice, but I didn’t give them much satisfaction because on holiday I like to just relax. We used the spa for massages and here too the staff was friendly and efficient! Finally I Recommendation to visit the Resort shops where I bought many beautiful things! Ali's lamps are gorgeous, and the little bottles of sand made by Nino are wonderful and arrived intact at their destination despite the hold trip!

I always choose a hotel carefully, this time I chose this one for diving in Marsa Shagra and it was the worst hotel in Egypt, which according to the stage of decay still remembers Tutankhamun.
Unwilling to unfriendly staff at the reception, upon arrival you don't even get breakfast, which we otherwise got in other hotels always and everywhere.
Beach: approx. 100m into the sea, there is a maximum of 40cm of water, for swimming you have to go to the jetty and only if there are no waves.
Food: so average in Egypt.
Rooms: the door has no seal from the bottom and there is a huge hole so expect visits from ants, grasshoppers and crickets.
The worst is the bathroom, next to the toilet there is a drain, so there is an extreme smell of feces in the bathroom and in the room, even in other rooms.
Pool bar: again the worst alcohol in Egypt, I know no name brands are used but this was undrinkable even diluted.
Pool: the only positive thing about this hotel, clean and undamaged.
We have been to Egypt for about the eighth time and I know the standards are lower, but this hotel never again.
I strongly do not recommend!!

The only thing I want to say about this hotel is that all the staff is very unprofessional and rude…they are not shy to ask you money for EVERYTHING! And not a small money!
Also they treat you like a prisoner, you have to sign paper and inform them about every your step. Nobody from the other hotel can not even step on the beach or to come to ask something on the reception.
Hotel is ok, beach is a bit too flat, location in the middle of nowhere and breakfast every day same and poor but all those things are very small compare to the rude staff…

The Blue Reef village of Marsa Alam is one of the most disappointing tourist experiences I have ever had. Despite high expectations, the reality turned out to be quite different, leaving a sense of bitterness and dissatisfaction.

First of all, the village structure itself is outdated and poorly maintained. Rooms are dirty, with damaged furniture and uncomfortable beds. Cleanliness standards are well below average, with sheets and towels appearing not to have been changed regularly.

Restaurant service was another sore point. The quality of the food was poor, with bland dishes and low-quality ingredients. Hygiene seemed to be a foreign concept, with often dirty tableware and flies flying around the buffet. The variety of food was extremely limited, with repetitive menus quickly becoming boring.
The only positive note: the Italian lady who prepared pasta.
The staff seemed generally uninterested and unprofessional.
Also as soon as we arrived at the structure, tired from the 4h trip we wanted to relax in the room, obviously it was not possible because the two guys who had to bring us ONLY the suitcases in the room, came in and were 15 minutes to ask for a tip and if we wanted to change the bed sheet, of course if we had changed it we would have to give a further tip.

The activities and leisure facilities were equally disappointing. The pools were dirty and badly maintained, with murky water and broken sunbeds and wipes that were not even cleaned days later.

Another big disappointment was the beach. Despite the prime location, the beach was dirty, with rubbish everywhere and few shaded spaces. The sea, while theoretically one of the main attractions, was difficult to reach due to poor maintenance of the wharf and walkways.

In conclusion, the Blue Reef village of Marsa Alam proved to be a disaster in almost every respect. A holiday that should have been relaxing and pleasant has become the opposite, with ongoing disruption and a general lack of care and attention to detail. I would definitely not recommend this village to anyone, and I hope the management will take serious steps to improve the situation in the future.

Nice village but a little dated...
Equipped with a beach with a bathroom that can also be used by children and a pier that reaches the coral reef (remarkable) available to guests.
Large swimming pool of average comfort and cleanliness.
Spacious rooms with air conditioning (not working properly in all rooms) and always kept quite clean..
Free wifi only in the restaurant and reception area otherwise paid for €14/week but it doesn't work very well...
Staff almost always friendly and helpful even if the all inclusive is available until midnight and if you want to eat at 11.45pm they already look at you badly or even say that the bar is closed...
Entertainment with nice guys but organization and direction to be reviewed with shows that are sometimes nice but sometimes really embarrassing...
Sufficient restaurant but here too if you arrive a little later than usual (but still within opening hours) you don't have the choice you have when the buffet opens (fruit counter not reached).
The guys who take care of the Alpitour excursions are too intrusive and come every day (even several times a day) to propose their activities which are honestly not worth the price offered (the activities illustrated do not correspond to what is actually done with a lack of communication and basic information). The exit to Luxor was valid (but demanding), while for the rest it was money badly spent.
TOP excursion instead is the camel ride in the desert with Tito (not Alpitour) always available and contactable on the resort beach.
PS. Alpitour assistance not received (we received a response to a problem we communicated on the day of arrival after 1 week after repeatedly asking for clarification)

The resort itself is nice, small and quite in a good shape.
The reef is beautiful, maybe a little small.
Which totally ruins it is the staff. This is our third stay in Egypt, we know that the service here is "special". But still.
First sight-we came at 10a.m., the announced stay started at 2 p.m. The reception guy asked for $10 or we have to wait. As I hear, everyone got the same offer. They probably had the rooms ready but still they would let us to wait.
The cleaning guy came everytime after the breakfast when we were in a room-aparently to obtain extra money. We have 1.5 yr old son, he wants to nap in that time. I wasnt able to explain to him. So he made 2 cleanings by 10 days. I am use to get koney to him but I ve never been asked before he did anything.
The best of best- ice cream guy wanted us to buy an i e crram, we politely refused and were called by "sh.t and f..k". The said to my wife more time when he met her. I had to be very noisy to stop him.
Food is not bad, quite without spice and salt.

Valid structure in line with a mid-range resort.
The structure is beautiful, certainly a little dated now and with important maintenance to be done especially in the rooms and common areas. Spacious rooms but with noisy air conditioning and numerous neglected details (bathroom with broken tiles, old tub, slightly encrusted taps etc...)
The cuisine is very international, with local specialties and little Italian if it weren't for the pasta corners with the chef able to cook pasta for so many people, always tasty and al dente!
The sunbeds on both the beach and the pool require better care and above all more careful cleaning at the end of the day.
There is enormous waste of disposable plastic cups that should no longer exist.
The resort is small and the number of animators is so small. They try to do what they can but unfortunately they often lack initiatives and in the evening the shows can be boring and devoid of interesting content (in fact, everything is often over in an hour and a half).
It's a shame because the kids put all their effort into it but I think Alpitour lacks a little more organization behind it and this isn't just for the entertainment.
In some cases, Egyptian employees appear unprofessional and have a strong preference for Arab customers, especially at the pool and beach.
In any case, the budget is quite good, I feel like recommending it enough, remembering, however, as I wrote at the beginning, that it is a mid-range resort and the services are at that level.

Fantastic family-friendly resort, always clean and well-kept beach and a pier that takes you directly to the coral reef where you can admire a spectacle of nature as soon as you look under the surface of the water! Egyptian entertainment always active and present but absolutely not intrusive with special thanks to Menna and Mahmood who kept us entertained every day. Clean rooms with slightly dated furnishings but being in Egypt that's fine, the guys who clean the rooms are always attentive and helpful with particular attention to children who are given puppets made with towels. The restaurant and in general all the Food and Beverage is managed impeccably by Mr. Sameh Nasef who is always present and together with his splendid staff attentive to attention to detail, excellent and always varied food at every meal thanks to Chef Sayed Gaber. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED RESORT
