A really lovely place to stay. Excellent rooms, obliging staff, lovely atmosphere and superb food. I would advise booking direct with The Golden Lion as this is how to get the best deal. They often do 3 for 2 or include a discount off dinner. My advice.. check before you book.

We stay in Pembrokeshire twice a year and most days combine a dog walk on Newport's amazing beach with lunch at the Golden Lion. Always friend, professional service, great atmosphere and tasty food. Recent Sunday lunch was one of the best we had ever had!

We had a great overnight stay here, and found the staff friendly and helpful. We had spent the whole day driving from St. David's, heading out to the coast many times on tiny little roads, walking parts of the Pembrokeshire coast path. The meals were fabulous right there in the Golden Lion.

Had a great meal in a charming Gastro pub nestled in amongst the hills and cliffs. Newport is a charming village near beautiful beaches and coastal walks. I called in to this pub several times over the summer holiday and was always treated in a kind and helpful way by the staff, even when they were obviously very busy! Drinks were lovely and a good range was available and the food was delicious though a little pricey. Well worth calling in!

The service is quick and friendly and the quality of the food is very good and also good value for money. Lots of space to sit too. Well worth a visit. In fact we're going there again tonight. Over a weeks holiday we've eaten here 5 times. Beer also good with some local beers on tap.
