Booked this place at short notice and was really pleased I did. Room was fresh and modern. The biggest bed I have ever slept in. Lovely appointed bathroom and service was excellent from everyone. Dog friendly in the bar. Food was good in the restaurant and breakfast was superb. Only down side was the noise from the kitchen fans, but... More

Rooms were modern, spacious and clean. The bathroom was a good size and cleverly used the layout available. Perfect for two people and didn't feel crampt. The restaurant a la carte menu was superb and tasted great. Portion sizes were just right and everything looked delicious and appetising on arrival. The cost of the meals was fairly priced. The only... More

Stayed here overnight recently, accommodation is located just behind an old pub. Our room had a view over a small garden and was quite at night. Pub food and service was very good, particularly veggy breakfast. Recommend the Thai green curry and lamb chops!

We stayed there one night during our coast walk. The hotel ist good with nice, modern and clean rooms and bathroom. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice pub and restaurant with excellent food. Disadvantage: in the rear rooms you can´t avoid the noisy kitchen ventilator which runs almost all night. So it may be difficult to find some sleep.

We stayed for 3 nights at this pub turned hotel in June 2016, following a friend's recommendation. The bar was friendly & had a welcoming traditional ambience, there was also a beer garden with several different areas. We stayed in the recent extension to the building, this was well-decorated & displayed local artworks. Our room was comfortable & had plenty... More

Just went for an evening meal. 3 real ales on tap and dog friendly in the bar area added to the attraction. The pub looked very busy when we arrived but we soon got a table in the bar. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food arrived too promptly, if anything. We had scotch egg with black pudding... More

We stayed at the Golden Lion for three nights as part of our weeks holiday touring Wales. It is a fabulous place to stay to tour North Pembrokeshire. Although Newport wasn't that exciting! The hotel ticked all our boxes. Good room with comfortable bathroom. Real ales regularly changed. Fabulous food and attentive, friendly staff. One extra touch we would like... More

The room took us by surprise - really comfortable and up to date with a lovely superking bed and nice modern bathroom. The Pub itself is very warm and comforting with a lovely bar spoiled to some extent by an ugly pool table at one end - don't let that put you off! Dinner was Ok- my lamb chops were... More

We stayed in Newport and were recommended this pub for food. The menu was varied and there were 6 of us who all chose different starters and meals and although the food was excellent it was quite expensive (£68 per couple) for two courses and a couple of drinks.
