Property's Favorite Review
My wife and I stayed at Rohotu Fare for half a week during our 20th wedding anniversary, after having stayed in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora for half a week. Each of the two was just as amazing in its own way, but we'll probably remember Rohotu Fare longer and more fondly, our stay was that special. What a magical place, unlike anything we've experienced on our many travels -- there's a reason this place has a 5.0 average review rating! The owner has literally put in 35 years of his life, soul, vision, and dreams into creating this place, which now lives up to the wildest dreams of his guests. From the time you approach your room through the astonishingly and immaculately designed jungle pathways, to all the details within the room, this place makes you feel like you're in a movie come to life -- some fantastic combination of Indiana Jones and Jumanji. Staying here made me feel like a kid again, while also feeling pampered and luxurious. So glad we stayed here for our special occasion, and we'll definitely be back!

When my fiancé and I decided to take a vacation to Bora Bora, I wanted a four to five star and didn't want to stay at one of those cookie cutter resorts. I wanted surreal and this four and a half star location did not disappoint. The Rohotu Fare is truly a private hideaway and is owned by Nir and Tiare. They are amazing people. They currently have three active bungalows and are building their (biggest and final) fourth bungalow. Each bungalow is unique in its own way.
We stayed in the NaveNave bungalow with an amazing view of the lagoon. This bungalow was perfect for our first experience in Bora Bora, with a serene bathroom that is located privately outside. The shower that we had in our bathroom was a fountain (pretty cool if you ask me) and all of the toiletries were good quality. NaveNave had A/C and celling fan along with a little bar and kitchen area that has granite counter tops, fridge, microwave and some utensils. It had a big balcony and an amazing view of the lagoon. I had read that mosquitos and other bugs were a problem, but we didn't experience that. Nir had bug repelling incense burning outside of the bathroom and balcony doors every day when our room was serviced, which lasted all day.
Some helpful hints.
Nir and Taire will pick you up and drop you off where the airport ferry dock is located free of charge if you let them know ahead of time. I planned all of our dining and excursions because I didn't know at the time, but you don't have to. Nir and Tiare will do that for you if you like. Just talk to them when you book or call them at the Rohotu Fare before you get there or just do it when you see them in person. The Rohotu Fare has bikes that you can use free of charge, just ask Nir. This resort is at the top of a hill so it can be a bit of a climb for some people (just ask my fiancé), but not really any different to me than walking down a long dock to get to a bungalow at another resort that we would have booked. Most restaurants on the island will pick you up and drop you off for dinner, just ask the shuttle service to take you to the top of the hill when they drop you off so you don't have to climb it. One last thing... I didn't think about it before we got to Bora Bora, but the electrical outlets are different style than the USA and some other countries. If you don't have a plug converter just ask Nir, he is amazing and will let you borrow one lol.

We have stayed at Rohotu Fare four times and now are on a first name basis with the owner and family. It is located on a ridge flanked by Mount Otemanu. On the first visit, while the guys were collecting the luggage, the ladies announced they were going to check in and promptly disappeared into the jungle! Where'd they go? We walked to where we had last seen them and a tiki-guarded, sculpted path appeared that led through a forest of carefully maintained trees and native plants. Individual bungalows are entered on the uphill side of the ridge while the balconies look out over the tree canopy to the lagoon below. Amazing! The interior has hardwood floors, walls and ceilings with gorgeous bed made from roots of teak wood. The bathroom and shower are outside under an extended roof, but totally private. The shower consists of a statue holding a vase that pours water down upon the bather. The total experience was unique and far exceeded our expectations. We will visit Bora Bora again and wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else.

What an experience! Nir (the host) kindly came to pick us up in his Defender at the Bora Bora port. We took the bungalow with a view on the lagoon. It was spacious, clean, great decoration with an amazing shower outside. The view from the terrasse was exceptional. We watched the sunset from there a few times. Attention to detail everywhere.
Nir took us every day to the beach and to do different activities. We could also use his bicycles.
He has managed to build a "fare" with amazing vibes where we had a special and unique experience. We loved everything about our stay.

Well, it kinda goes like this.
Think of a beautiful tree house in the canopy of a tropical botanical garden decorated with fine Tahitian art and some Indiana Jones accoutrements thrown in.
This place was created with a suburb vision and like I say in the title "true soul". It is a place built by a traveler, for other travelers to experience.
You will not find tv's or boutiques at this hideout.
What you will find is a library, great views (we had an ocean view unit) the coolest bathroom, awesome art, wonderful hosts, local & worldly knowledge, a spotlessly clean unit and some homemade vanilla rum.
If you are looking for something other than your run of the mill resort (if anything on Bora Bora can be run of the mill, haha) off the beaten path, these guest cabins might just be for you!

We stayed in the honeymoon suite for 3 nights and it was truly a delight!
It was far greater than I expected. Nir ( the owner) has made of this place truly a paradise. From the beautiful views of the lagoon to the outdoors bathroom and top quality toiletries, every detailed has been well thought.
100% recommended. You won't regret it! Just make sure you bring enough repellent - you will need it. This is a jungle paradise after all so mosquitos are expected.

Rohotu Fare was one of our favourite places to stay in French Polynesia. Nir and his family are wonderful hosts. Nir booked our activities for us and recommend things to do on the island. We loved the bungalows and were able to experience two of them on our visit, both so unique and with amazing outdoor bathrooms. The view of the balconies over the lagoon is great to wake up to. The vanilla rum in the rooms is a great addition!
There are bikes to use at the lodge and it is possible to do a circuit of the island. Matira beach is a short cycle ride away, where there is good snorkelling and plenty of food options.
I would definitely recommend staying here over any of the other lagoon hotels, it’s certainly a unique place and we can’t wait to return!

We spent 3 nights of our honeymoon at Rohotu in the superior lagoon view bungalow and it was beautiful! The entire property is curated with statures and sculptures nestled into the rainforest-esque landscaping. Complete with fruit trees and exotic flowers, the private jungle lights up at night to guide the path to your own piece of paradise. The bungalow was spacious and clean with beautiful views of the lagoon and mountain. The outdoor bathroom was beautiful with the most gorgeous tropical foliage. The statue shower was a highlight of this unique location! Nir and Tiare were perfectly hospitable hosts and made us feel very welcome during our stay. They have created a truly special hideaway at Rohotu Fare. We will always remember this experience fondly.
Much thanks!

Superb bungalows in a lush but controlled nature. The owner, Nir, and his wife have done a remarkable job of creating and decorating the bungalows. Everything is perfect in every detail. From the reception to the departure one is transported by the beauty and charm of the place. The beds are large, good quality. Soft pillows at will. The bathroom is a dream, between indoor and outdoor. The shower is a waterfall coming out of the hands of a statue. The welcome products are of good quality and presented in bottles in the name of faré. The view is splendid. The kitchenette is well equipped and allows to really cook. Cleaning is done every day from top to bottom and towels changed.
The icing on the cake, we were able to visit the last of the bungalows (being finished when we were). It is the flagship of the bungalow fleet. A real wonder. Luxury detail and beautiful materials. Stunning decoration.
The only things I could have found: tissues, a serving tray, a full-length mirror. Just to say that perfection is not of this world. I would also have liked the white cotton bed linen more.
A vehicle is necessary, otherwise Nir lends bikes but on the return the coast is rough.

First the hosts are amazing and need to be commended for the presentation of this ZEN type retreat. The rock walk meanders through the area with green foliage and Porapora art through out to three of the cottages ! This inside brings you back to what comfort was before all the glass and metal. If you are a product of the 60s and 70 s generation you can appreciate the style that was part of the San Francisco in the day !
The kitchen is fairly well stocked, it is a one butt room ! The bath is shower only but the shower is a Polynesian maiden pouring water from her hands under the green foliage, sweet !
The daily service with changing of the mosquito coils was amazing . Yes skeeters live on Bora Bora even those $2000.00 at night bungalows over the water !
