Our week long anniversary stay was a dream! From the minute we arrived at the Bora Bora airport, we were greeted by friendly faces with flower leis and water bottles. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were whisked away by golf cart and given a tour of the property before heading back to the lobby to be checked in. The check-in process was pretty much seamless, we booked two excursions in advance through the concierge and they were reviewed and we were given instructions on them. The only snag was we were promised cold towels and the complimentary welcome drink but I had to ask for both to be given to us before we were driven by golf cart to be shown to our room. Our room #202 was an overwater villa with a beach view and we have no complaints about the spacious room that had a wonderful view of the beach from our private balcony and view of Mount Otemanu from our front door. The tour guide that took us to our room offered a room tour where he showed us the various features of the villa which was very helpful. Some suggestions to improve the room: speakers in the bedroom and closed captions in English. There is a speaker in the living room area that we used to play music using bluetooth on our phones but there is no speaker in the bedroom or bathroom which made it hard to hear the music throughout the villa. Some tv channels had closed captions in English but we found that some channels did not, there was also a discrepancy between the channels that had closed captions on the living room tv versus the bedroom tv. We found the dining options to be a bit limited. Although, we are from a large city and are accustomed to having many more dining options. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet that was included in our room rate and found that it filled it us up for days that we had excursions and days where we skipped lunch. Every morning, we were also made aware of specific theme nights or menus that would be served at dinner that night which we appreciated. We were able to call the concierge and have the menus emailed to us for our perusal before making reservations. The pool area was one of our favorite places to spend time outside of our villa. It never felt crowded and was always maintained well with towels and food/drinks cleared after each guest. On our last day, we were able to check out at 11am and continue using the amenities until about 2 hours before we had to leave for our flight. We were given a room with a shower and bathroom to freshen up before our flight which was exactly as described to us at checkout. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and service from every staff member that we came across. We hope to be back in the future but would appreciate more food options before making a decision to stay here again for a weeklong stay.

Our stay for our ten year anniversary was unbelievable at IHC Bora Bora. When we arrived on the property, we were greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff and management. Walking into our over water bungalow was absolutely one of the best experiences I have ever had. The property is amazing. Modern and updated everything. The villas are luxury and made us feel as though we were staying in a luxury apartment over the water and the private plunge pool is a must! Our favorite part of the entire stay was the private dinner that the hotel put on for us in the lagoon. Hands down, I think this experience is a must for anyone who is staying here. There are plenty of amenities on property (non motorized activities, spa, gym, pool) and there is no reason to leave the property. The restaurants and dining experiences were great as well. Lastly, I have to sing the praises of management for making our stay absolutely fantastic. Specifically Sergey was very helpful and just amazing at making sure we had a great time. A very sincere thank you to Sergey and all staff at IHC Bora Bora from us. We will be back!!!

I hope paradise exists and it will look like this. It was like opening a door to the garden of eden. The beauty cannot even be described in words. It is like stepping off the plane and the noise and worries of the world went away. Bora Bora is super expensive and worth every cent. The Thalasso Intercontinental we chose for the spacious overwater bungalows and the ecologic approach. You wont find plastic anywhere. they have glass bottles that you can fill up in water stations and so on. staff is beyond friendly and seem to really care how you are. breakfast buffet was one of the best encountered in hotels with everything on offer you can dream of. The grounds are impeccable clean, turquise waters, fragrant flowers and the bungalows sheer bliss. we had a wonderful view to otemanu and they have a glass table in the living room where you can feed fish. We loved that . Beds are dreamy and bath to die for. Honestly there is no bad view. the way the overwater bungalows are positioned you really have a view of everything. all very quiet and peaceful. No screaming children. the guests mostly honeymooners keep to themselves. THe spa was heavenly as well. we splurged on Bora bora bliss massage in the overwater cabins and it was so worth it. the whole spa is serene and lush with cabins and jacuzzis outside but private. Could not find fault with anything. This place is a perfect paradise. we will be back very soon and thank you so much to everybody and especially the ladies in the juice and ice cream bar which make wonderful Pina Coladas and made us feel like paradise is home and everything will be ok! Heartfelt thanks and blessings!

The staff was super friendly and very responsive to all of our needs and requests, and the grounds were meticulously manicured. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. It was also nice that the resort offered several free activities such as kayaking and snorkeling. In addition, my wife and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and the resort provided free champagne! Such a classy touch. However there are 3 issues I have with this resort: 1). Final Bill was $1,789.00 More than expected 2). Had to share walkways with motorized golf carts 3). Checkin Process We stayed at the resort from Tuesday November 15th thru Monday November 21st. The resort left a bill for us on Sunday afternoon which indicated that we owed 839,530 XFP/ $7,295.78 USD. The bill also indicated that we paid 814,958 XFP/$7,062.97 USD which meant there was a small balance of 24,572 XFP/$212.95 USD. So we go to dinner Sunday evening and had 2 bottles of wine, and at checkout the next day, the difference between Sunday and Monday’s bill was $1,789.85! I asked for a final itemized bill so I could compare the two bills, and was told it would be emailed to me, yet it never was. The second opportunity for improvement is that the staff’s golf carts were quite intrusive to the pedestrians walking on the same roads. The resort should invest in special roads for the carts. We had to walk on the shoulder of the road 3 times during a one way trip to breakfast. Finally, the checkin process could have gone a little smoother. We advised the resort that we would arrive at 8AM, yet we were unable to checkin upon arrival. I understand that the “official” checkin time was 3PM, however it seems as better accommodations could have been made since the resort knew we were arriving very early. Waiting around for a room for 5 hours after a 14 hour flight was no fun. In conclusion, the resort was absolutely beautiful, and the staff was extra friendly, but I can’t help feeling I got ripped off on the last day. We will definitely come back to Bora Bora, and next time stay longer and bring our kiddos, but we’ll probably stay at the St. Regis or Four Seasons. Nana, Robert Scott

Dear Robert_HeatherScott, Sunny Greetings from Bora Bora Thank you very much for celebrating your 10th year anniversary at our hotel. We are very pleased to learn you find paradise with our hotel and your experience was a great success, thanks to the quality of our restaurants as well as the excellent service from our teams. Regarding your issue about your final bill, on the letter before your departure it's indicate that the bill ended at 4pm the day before you left. That means the final night fee is not already on your bill as it's not charge yet as the night is not started, This is why you had a such difference between your two bills. Concerning your early check in request unfortunately it could not be guaranteed at least you paid the night before your coming to book your room. Due to the high occupancy to our hotel, the check out time is at 11 am so our maids can not start to prepare your room before 11. You were listed to our top priority room to prepare to try to honour your early check in request. Neverthless , as I see you were able to check in to your room at 1:30pm being, one and half hour before the official check in time. Overall I read you had an amazing experience due to our beautiful property and our cairing staff and I hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back to demonstrate our commitment for all our guest. Overall great stay and a positive experience! This hotel is beautiful and well kept with wonderful view of mountain. The scenery is astonishing and you can’t keep your eyes off of it . We stayed at over the water bungalows and it was worth it . Positives : the property is clean and luxurious. Staff at all restaurants and pool are professional and friendly . Specifics : the staff at the pool were so nice , amazing and kind specially to my 3 year old son . I can’t thank them enough . My son is very hyper and was running around and they were so patient with him , playing with him, keeping him entertained and even made a cute hat for him . He loved them . They even given him multiple rides in the golf cart as he enjoyed riding in them . They were just wonderful and I never forget their kindness and hospitality . They are definitely a great asset for the resort . The French restaurant is great and has delicious food . In addition it has one of the best customer service I ever encountered . All the staff out so nice , polite and friendly . Our waiter was amazing and unfortunately I don’t remember his name but he was very professional , polite and friendly . We also had couple of encounters with the property manger Eduard and he was just so wonderful . He was very friendly and welcoming , talked to us , asked us about our experience and again was so great with my son and gave him a tour of the property in his favorite ride . He was just excellent and made our experience more memorable . Negatives : Unfortunately I have to take a star off because of the front staff at the reception for the following reasons: Upon our arrival we were given a tour of the property . The girl that received us ( which I believe was an intern from France ) was friendly . However , didn’t have enough knowledge of activities and amenities or at least didn’t convey that to us . Whatever question I asked her she would tell me I should go to concierge to get the answer . And my questions were general stuff . For instance she didn’t tell us we have to make a reservation for majority of restaurants. The day that we arrived there was a show and she didn’t tell us that . At night when we went to get a table to eat at the Reef restaurant, we were told they are booked up . As the result we could not see the show as it was raining and we had to sit in the restaurant in order to have a view. That was a real let down . I feel like she should at least given us overall summary of the activities at the resort instead of keep telling me to go to concierge. There is also no brochure with list of programs or schedule for the events. Also on our day 3 we found out all children get an ice cream pass and again nobody told us about that . Also she didn’t tell us about complimentary boat ride options . In another instance I went to the front desk to look at the menu of the restaurant and a gentleman told me I should go to my room and look at the tv Chanel which has the menu. I actually did that and unfortunately there was no menu there and it was just description of restaurant. I believe the hotel should be more organized in terms of providing all the guest with list of events and activities on the date of arrival so that guest don’t wonder around trying to figure that out on their own or miss the opportunity to attend a show/event. And on our last day as we were checking out at the front desk , my husband was very dehydrated and I asked the front staff if they can give me a cup of water . He said they don’t have it . I believe a 5 star hotel at this level should be able to have so beverage available at the lobby . Since the check in is at 3 and guest have to wait at the lobby for the very long time for the room to be ready . And the last : we were not informed that there is an up charge for water transport from and to the airport ahead of time . Since it was very expensive it would be important for the guest to know the cost do that they can opt out of it if they chose to . Overall my stay is positive and would go back but I would like to see improvement in front reception communication with guest as it was not reflecting the standard of this hotel in any shape or form .

My husband and I literally just got here and I could NOT WAIT to share just how amazing this resort is. After getting a tour of the property by Sarah via golf cart we were greeted with and amazing, seamless check-in by Paul then greeted with a towel and drink to freshen up. Sara and Maria then drove is to our superior overwater bungalo which is hands down, top notch! There is a huge waterfall shower, bathtub below a huge picture window, enormous walk-in closet and the most gorgeous views of paradise you'll ever get. Both the resort and our villa are incredibly clean and the Sonos surround sound speaker is a nice extra touch. I definitely recommend room #136 for the views of the water and privacy from neighboring villas, but really you cannot go wrong here. From the robes and slippers, to the umbrellas and plentiful towels - nothing is overlooked. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the resort's efforts of sustainability is unmatched. The staff is incredible and even apologized for the rain!?! That is just one example of their commitment to guests. We are so excited to be able to spend the next 5 days in such care and comfort. I will add more to the review as the week continues, but for now, just know that if you are considering another similar resort, I do wish to add that the InterContinental Bora Bora Thalasso meets and/or exceeds the others, plus has THE best view of Mt. Otemanu. The secret garden has beatiful and rare tropicals which are grown on the property and the grounds are immaculately cared for and you can snorkle in their private lagoon and see where they propagate beautiful coral. The Deep Ocean Spa is incredible and we are going back for more! Last night they had a wonderful wine tasting with two sommeliers, and guests are invited to take part in fun activities such as coconut cracking, Polynesian dance lessons, and Nathan, the mixologist at the Bubbles bar recommend THE best bottle of wine we've ever had & he mixes one hell of a coctail as well! The food is delicious and the breakfast is unmatched. We've already started discussing when we will come back. They provide all thebtowles you need and even have SunBum suncreen at the pool. There is so much to do and see here, or you can do nothing at all- My husband and I just LOVE this resort!!!

We had a fabulous time at this resort. We were celebrating our anniversary and the IHG was the perfect choice. We had Overwater Bungalow #221 with an incredible view of Mt Otematu. The bungalow was very large with double vanities, tub, bathroom, ample closets, bedroom, and separate living room with glassed floor cutout to see the fish. The bed was comfy with premium linens and the furniture was all comfortable. The deck had a table and 2 chairs as well as 2 chaise lounges. There is a rinse shower on the lower deck. Our deck had morning shade, afternoon sun and sunset views. The staff was polite, thorough and very accommodating. They all knew our names on the first day and greeted us whenever we saw them. My wife was in a wheelchair. The property is virtually 100% accessible with small elevators to the restaurants and spa. The concierges responded to every request with a smile and went the extra mile to make sure we were welcomed. The dining staff was very friendly and attentive. They made sure we had an easily accessible table whenever we dined. The food was all quite good. The breakfast had lots of choices in their buffet and the cook station. We enjoyed the menu selections at the Reef Restaurant and loved dining in the evening on the beach at the Sands. The Polynesian Show and a Halloween buffet on the 31st was fun. We enjoyed a couples massage at the spa. We took advantage of the free Kayaks. We also took the shuttle to the main island for some retail therapy. The transfers to the resort from the airport were easy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very few of the bungalows are truly handicap accessible. #221 wasn't and it created a few small challenges. We have recommended that the hotel lower the thresholds in the bathroom and add a grab bar in the toilet area. Other that that the room was pretty doable. We loved Bora Bora and have told our friends to choose the IHG if they choose to go there. We didn't want to leave and come home. We hope to come back someday.

A truly world-class experience at the Thalasso Bora Bora. The staff was the most polite and accommodating my wife and I have ever experienced - across all 50+ countries we have collectively traveled to. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. Best experience ever.
