Amazing location, the bungalows are right next to the Matira point beach location in Bora Bora, one of the best beaches ! This is an excellent budget option to stay in Bora Bora. The surroundings are beautiful. I had absolutely no problem to book and I received a reply promptly. We had initially booked for the Summer of 2020 and had to postpone to 2021 because of Covid. I was given a voucher for the night I had paid in 2020 and used it for our stay this Summer. We had booked the 3 bedroom bungalow right near the water, "pilotis" but we had to move to a bedroom bungalow because the tide went up the second day and walking to the bungalow didn't seem safe. There was absolutely no problem - Nono's wife and employee offered the 3 bedroom with the shared kitchen for the 2 remaining nights. I highly recommend Chez Nono to stay at Bora Bora ! If you don't hire a car, a driver comes to pick you up and back to the airport for 2000 xpf. A great stay at a budget location with wonderful surroundings, and very kind hosts who make sure that everything goes smoothly during your stay ! We highly recommend Chez Nono !

Teremoana Full day tour, with sharks, rays and lunch. The tour, which included a trip around the entire island of Bora Bora, certainly delivered in showing us sharks, rays and other fish. The two guides were fun as well as very helpful in assisting us in our snorkeling and fish viewing. They also sang and played musical instruments for us. All in all, a delightful day. Highly recommended.

Me and my husband spent four days at Chez Nono for our honeymoon and I must say it’s been fabulous! We stayed in the villa, a very comfortable accommodation with a stunning view on the lagoon and a private beach. Chez Nono is located in the heart of Matira beach, a few minute walking distance from restaurants, a roulotte and a mini market. Beds are really comfortable, we slept so good! The kitchen is fully equipped. You can see the stimgrays swim in front of you, it’s just a paradise! We also had a full day excursion in the lagoon and it was amazing. We swam with black tip sharks and stingrays and we also saw two big manta rays. We had lunch on a wonderful motu, the food was delicious (poisson cru, grilled tuna, coconut bread, banana pudding, watermelon and the best pineapple I’ve ever tasted!). Our tour guides are simply great! We loved them, they also made some music for su during the trip. Before heading back to the guesthouse we also had a stop at the coral garden, a paradise full of fish. I want to mention the sweet lady from Tahaa who works at Chez Nono who welcomed us at our arrival and gave us the goodbye at our departure, she has a cousin in Italy, in Treviso, not far from where we live, if she ever comes to Italy it would be a pleasure to meet her. We really hope to go back to Bora Bora in the future and to stay again at Chez Nono! Thank you for everything, our stay is unforgettable. Cristian and Massimo

Our home away from home on Bora Bora. We considered an OWB on one of the big resorts but elected to have a more"local" experience on the main island. So glad we made this choice!
On the best beach, walking distance to restaurants and a small supermarket, and great sunsets make this an ideal location. The staff went above and beyond, even shipping an item my wife left by mistake to us on Tahiti!. We also used our kitchen to save a fortune by not eating out for every meal. We will be back!!

Wow the bungalow is at the best beach & great location. It is beautiful. The bungalow is basic and not so well maintained. We had our own private beach and chairs. The location is really paradise you can swim & snorkel in front of your bungalow. No food included but in a 5 min walk you find a shop and different restaurants. But we are really disappointed of the hosts itself. Not friendly, no information. You don’t have a welcome feeling here, it’s really sad because a smile costs nothing and you live in paradise. But the location made it worth, beautiful sunset & beach. Good for 3 n stay!

I was reminiscing about my trip to Bora when I stumbled across these reviews that are pretty shocking.

First, here is how it is: if you are on a honeymoon or have a "princess" for a wife, splash out and stay in one of the 500 dollar per night overwater bungalo's elsewhere on the island. If, however, you are looking for the cultural experience, and dont need much, Chez nono is absolutely fantastic.

I stayed there for 2 weeks with my girlfriend in June 2010, we were travelling the world so were on a budget (or as much a budget as FP will allow). We didnt stay in the round bungalow but stayed in the smaller square one also on the waters edge. When we first walkd into the room we got a shock because it was small and cramped, but after a day or two we realised it was perfect, what more did we need than a bed, shower and toilet!?!?

The lagoon which is literally 5 steps away in unbelievable, Bora is an out of this world experience, it is beautiful. The waves beak on the reef about 500 meters off shore rather than on the beach which is so strange and fascinating. rays swim past on a dailey basis. There are free kayaks in nono which you can take out anytime to paddle around the lagoon and if you paddle out to the reef you will get to see a couple of lemon sharks swimming around (totally harmless).

The shop is a 10 minute walk away and has everything youd need (at an overinflated price). We would get a couple of beers every night and stand on the waters edge with everyone else from nono and watch the sun set every evening. there is a communal kitchen which is great for meeting other travellers.

A short walk up the road is the novotel and you can rent a little speedboat for the day without a licence and drive all over the lagoon yourself, it was one of our best days. We drove out to the motu and explored that, fantastic.

Other than that, there is a little truck that goes around the island and can take you anywhere. Go on a jeep tour of the island with a guy called "coco", he is a character and is a great guy. Lots of fun. Also, take a trip out to "le Meridien", you can go out for lunch and have a look at what money can buy (turtles in their swimming pools!!!!).

There is also a shop a 2 min walk away with internet (again, very expensive).

I would, and hopefully will, stay again.

Chez Nono was not actually that bad but my wife was furious (still is after a year) because we couldn't decide between Chez Nono and the Novotel at the same price and I persuaded her to stay there because it looked more romantic. Unfortunately we made the mistake of wandering into the Novotel with its infinity pool and great beach so I have never heard the end of it.

We stayed 3 nights in one of the 2 big round bungalows - luckily it was the one right at the front or my wife would have been really mad because the other one is at the back. Even though you are in a prime position right on the beach, you can't actually see out the windows without getting into a strange position so it defeats the purpose. Big room, tired looking, not all that clean. We panicked when we saw there were no mosquito screens or net but it was OK as for some reason there were no mosquitos. They did not clean the room in 3 days. Noise during the day from the public beach and the hotel (very popular with huge French families - how do they afford to get so many children to FP?!) but OK at night. The shared kitchen was dirty. The few beach chairs they had were broken. Can't complain much about the service as we did not really ask for anything and there was never any one around anyway. Probably our least favourite hotel in FP, even though it is cheap by Bora Bora standards.

I have been going to Bora Bora for over 20 years and this quant place called Chez NoNo is small and unique to the area. I loved meeting people from around the world and since there is shared kitchen had a chance to share meals with people from all over the world. It is also a short walk to many resturants but the best thing about it other then the people that run the Chez Nono and the workers there is the CIRCLE ISLAND PIC NIC It has a large covered boat that takes you aroun d the whole island and you get to swim with sting rays and see sharks and then you stop on a small islet for the best food I ever had. There are many Tahitain dishes and bar b q fish and many sweet fruits and much laughter as the boat drivers sings and incourages people to try there skill at Tahitian dancing. I have been on other boat rides but this is the very best one I ever have been on and have gone on the boat trip too many times to keep track with ! You don't have to stay at Chez NoNO to enjoy the pic nic just ask anyone where to sign up and they will pick you up at your hotel! Don't settle for any other this one is the very best!

Chez Nono itself is a delightful place with a shared kitchen to meet other people from around the world (mostly France). The place is kept clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The 2 round beach huts are wonderful but small for a family of 4. There is only cold water available for washing/showers.

BUT it is next door to a jet ski hiring place full of young folk. Every day of our 4 days there they played loud music all day. Mostly it was loud rock music played by an amateur live rock band. Laying on the beach it sounded like a Ghetto blaster playing loudly 10 ft away. The sound could be heard all along the beach.

Pleaceful relaxation it was not.

However, it was a great place from where you could go out on trips, lovely eating places were all around and car hire was nearby.

We spent 4 nights at Chez Nono in the big round bungalow on the beach. The bungalow itself was pretty cool as it sat directly on the beach. It was clean and comfortable and a good value for the price. But as soon as we arrived I knew we wanted to use this place as a base. It's not somewhere we wanted to hang out for any length of time. The property is small and the beach is public. Neighborhood dogs would defecate on their beach every morning and around the grounds. A group of children from the neighborhood would play on their beach which amounted to 5 hours a day of screaming and crying. I like dogs and I'm used to kid noise but this was extreme. We received good service during our stay. The owner Claude was very helpful arranging tours and transfers. The highlight of our trip was the Terramona Circle Island tour run by Chez Nono. One of the best tours I have ever been on. I highly recommend it if you are staying on Matira Point so you can get views of the famous Mt. Otemanu.
I'm glad we did see Bora Bora but I would not return. It really is paradise lost with the overdevelopment and inflated prices. We also traveled to Moorea and Huahine and would return there in a heartbeat.

You would have to contact them directly as their pricing may have changed. We paid about 16,000 CPF a night back in March this past year (2018)
